ログインAlexandra POV
“Enzo? Why did you follow me?”
“Open the damn door so we can talk, Alexandra.”
“I don’t need to open the door,” I mumbled.
“Would you rather I break it down? I can and pay for the damages later.”
I groaned in frustration. I yanked the door open. “I’m so sick of Alpha males!”
“What happened to your lip?” He marched into my apartment.
I closed the door and locked it.
“Nothing happened,” I mumbled.
“Xavier happened, didn’t he?”
He took my face in his hands before I could respond. “Bastard,” he spat.
“I’m sorry, Alex. Let me heal it.”
I blinked a few times. “You have healing powers?”
Mischief lit up his eyes. “No, but I can heal you. Want to know how?”
“I don’t know…”
My nipples hardened under my robe. I had a feeling it involved touching, as was the case with wolves. I’d already tasted him, and it was incredible, but he’d also already rejected me. However, the prospect of tasting him again made the possibility of rejection worth it.
Ugh, Enzo had broken me. He was turning me into something I wasn’t.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” he replied.
His lips covered mine. His hot and firm kiss led me to the couch. Ignoring the pain in my foot, I lowered myself to the couch. He followed. The urge to untie my robe was strong.
Enzo dragged his tongue over my bottom lip. A delicious knot formed in my abdomen. I grabbed his shirt and yanked him closer.
I expected him to pull away, but instead, he kissed me with the force of an Alpha. A hot, sexy and mature Alpha. The boundaries were about to be crossed again.
He broke the kiss and breathed in. “That should heal you.”
I leaned back on the couch. “Is that how you heal the other girls?” I toyed with a lock of my dark chocolate hair.
“Just you, sweetheart.”
A shiver ran down my spine when he called me that.
“Give me your foot. Let me see.”
“Are you going to kiss that, too?”
“Don’t tempt me, Cub.”
“Cub? You think I’m a cub?”
He lifted a shoulder. “Yes, a wolf cub. Your wolf’s just a slow developer. It’ll come.”
I bit my bottom lip. “So you’re not convinced I’m passed my expiration date?”He picked up my foot and placed it on his thigh. I watched as he carefully examined the red throbbing cut.
“When you get this?” He disregarded my question and frowned instead.
“When you get hurt!”
He scowled. “Why didn’t you tell me about this? What if it gets infected!”
I sighed heavily. Nothing I can say will make this better.
“Where’s your first aid box?” He demanded.
“Under the sink,” I replied.
He marched off to my little kitchen. The open floor plan of the studio let me watch him. The Supreme Alpha should be governing his pack and commanding his army against the next looming threat, yet here he was in my house tending to my wounds.
Was I a lucky girl? Or would this blow up in my face like an exploding pie?
He came back and sat next to me. I let him work and watched him carefully. His focus moved from my foot to the wine glass on the coffee table.
“I didn’t think you were a drinker.”
“I drink… on special occasions.”
“What’s so special about today?” He raised a brow.
“I made it home alive,” I said, bitterly.
He focused his attention on me. “I wouldn’t have let anything happen to you, Alex.”
“Why?” My voice cracked. “You don’t even want to be near me.”
“That’s not true.” He squeezed my foot. “Things are complicated.”
“Because I don’t have a wolf, duh.” I picked up my wine glass and gulped down half of it. “I couldn’t even help you when a fucking tree fell on you!”
“I didn’t want you to help me. I wanted you to be safe inside the house.”
“Just stop! You’re the Supreme Alpha! You can’t be seen with a wolfless girl like me. You didn’t even want me in the pack to begin with.”
He kissed me again. Hard, sudden and dominating. His kiss said more than his words did. He branded me with his tongue. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer so not even a whisper of air could come between us.
“Does this feel like I don’t want to be near you?” He asked between kisses.
He traced little kisses on my jawline before capturing my neck.
“I’d be crazy to do that.”
I opened my eyes and saw stars. “Enzo,” I moaned.
“That’s Alpha Enzo to you, cub.”
A tremor went through me. My body submitted to him. I wanted more, I needed it. Judging by the bulge in Enzo’s pants he needed it too.
A hard knock came from the front door.
Oh crap.
“Alex! I know you’re in there,” Emmie sang on the other side of the door.
“Crap!” I shoved Enzo off me. “That’s my best friend. She can’t see you!” I hissed.
Emmie continued pounding on the door. “Alex! I brought gifts.”
I hurried to the fire escape.
“Alex, I’m not climbing out of the fire escape. Like a teenager. We’re both adults. You can have men over at your house,” Enzo said.
“Any man but the Supreme Alpha!”
He grabbed my cheeks and kissed me. My toes curled and my heart fluttered.
“I’ll see you later, okay?” He said.
I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He walked to the front door and opened it. Emmie was about to knock again, but froze.
She gasped. “Supreme Alpha Enzo… Hi!”
Enzo smiled. “Good evening, I was just leaving. Enjoy yourselves.”
Enzo walked passed her. Emmie turned her frozen stare at me.
Heat rushed to my cheeks. I’m so dead for this.
She walked into my apartment and closed the door behind her.
“Alexandra Westwood, are you sleeping with the Supreme Alpha?”
Alexandra POV“No! I’m not,” I protested.“Girl, you’re pink in the face. You can’t lie to me.”“I haven’t… it hasn’t gone that far.”Emmie gasped. “You told me yourself he’s Faye’s father. What do you think she’s going to do when she finds out?”“She won’t! Please stop.” I cradled my head in my hands.“Geez, Alex, I didn’t know you liked them older,” Emmie smirked.“Emmie!”She threw her head back and laughed. “I won’t rain on your parade. Have fun, but be careful.”“Why? Does he still mess around? Does he have a harem of omegas at his pack house?”“I don’t know about a harem, but you could get pregnant if you’re not careful. You’re human, Alex. A wolf baby isn’t the same as a human one. There are lots of complications.”I swallowed hard. “I’m not doing anything with him. He just came to make sure I was okay.”“I thought we didn’t keep secrets from each other!”“You know he was here; it’s not a secret. You can fill in the rest of the information with your imagination.”“You should no

Alexandra POV“Just come home, Alex, please. He’s tearing up the place looking for you. I’ve been worried sick, too.”“I’m coming home.”I hung up and tucked the phone in my bag.“I have to go,” I whispered, avoiding his eyes.He stepped in front of me and stopped me from going any further.“Xavier? The jack ass who made you cry?” He demanded.“It doesn’t matter. He wasn’t always a jack ass to me.”Enzo ran a hand down his face. “What are you talking about?”“I was fated to him, alright. We broke up, though. I don’t know what he wants from me.”“You’ve been fated before?” He raised his brows.“Yes,” I replied, recalling the pain of that rejection.“And you broke up? You mean he rejected you. That little prick,” he spat.“Look, it doesn’t matter. I have to go. I can’t stay here.”“So you’re going to run back into his arms? Fated mates are a big deal, Alex. Xavier never announced to the other packs that he’d found his fated mate and intended Luna.”“People knew about us, though. I’d nev
Alexandra POV“Please be okay,” I pleaded as I ran towards him.How did that tree just fall without a storm or a breath of wind?“Get back!” Enzo growled.“There’s a tree on you!”The veins in his neck bulged against his skin as he struggled to push the thick tree trunk off him. The end of the tree stopped short of the front porch. That’s how long the tree was. “Don’t be so stubborn, let me help you…” I paused. “I’ll go for help.”“No, no!” Enzo barked. “Just get back.”What’s he thinking?!I was in full panic mode. My skin was tight and tense, my forehead pounded from the stress of seeing him pinned to the ground. I stepped back and stepped right on a raised object in the dirt.I hissed, but didn’t scream.Enzo panted heavily. “Alex, I need you to move. Get back to the porch.”I swallowed hard. “You can’t stay like this.”“I need you to trust me.” His voice was soft, but the pain was still evident.I nodded and did as I was told. There was no way my feeble human self could even atte
Alexandra POV“My bed,” Enzo replied.“Huh?”He turned and marched down the short hall. I followed him. His room was the size of my studio, excluding the shower and walk-in closet.“This room could be two rooms. You don’t need all this space,” I stated.“Of course I do.”The room had a massive king-size bed that could easily fit four people. A huge, big screen TV like the one in the living room. It smelled like him. Clean, warm and masculine.“You take the bed, and I’ll take the couch. Simple.”“Wait, you don’t have to do that. You don’t even have to keep me here. I’ll sleep on the couch.”He shook his head. “It’ll allow me to watch the front door.”“I thought you said no one would dare attack the Supreme Alpha?” I mumbled.“They wouldn’t. I just want to be careful. The shower and bathtub are through that door.”I looked into his green eyes. How was I sure my heat wouldn’t lure him to the bed while I slept? Had I made a deal with the devil?“Anything else?” He asked.“N-No. Thank you.
Alexandra POVThe door just came off! I thought that the steel door would hold long enough for me to get the second steel door open, but it was permanently glued to the wall.My name echoed in the stale, cold walls.I hide behind the only raised tomb in this chamber. I curled into a ball and struggled to quiet my breathing.“Alexandra, I know you’re down here.”I paused. “Alpha Enzo?” I whispered.“Come out. They’re all gone.”I remained in my hiding spot. He might want to kill me just like the other shifters who chased me.I heard footsteps, and my entire body froze over. I shut my eyes. The last thing I expected to happen was to be chased by a group of male shifters. I only managed to outrun them because beta guards got between us for a few minutes before they started chasing me again.I didn’t want to die like this. I didn’t want to live like this either. Maybe leaving the shifter region was my only choice.A heavy sigh made me open my eyes.“Didn’t you hear me?” Enzo barked. He ya
