LOGINEnzo POV“You’re obsessed, Enzo,” Blaze said.“I’m not.” But we were outside Alexandra’s university after ten o’clock at night.I knew she was still inside. I could feel her presence inside.“Can you even keep up with her?” Blaze smirked.“I’m not that old.”He barked out a laugh.“It’s not funny, Blaze. I can’t get her out of my head.”“You can only fight this for so long.”Blaze was more than my right-hand man. He was my best friend. We’d battled many storms together and fought many wars. When the dust settled, he was always there. He knew I’d found my fated mate the day Alexandra fell into the pool. He watched me struggle to contain my wolf, and it amused him. Just like how he was getting a kick out of watching me obsess over her right now.I unbuckled my seatbelt. “I’m going in.”“Not a good idea, man. What if Faye’s here?”“Even better. I’ll pretend I’m here to see her.”Blaze’s brows knitted together. “That’s messed up, man. You can’t keep going like this.”“What do you want me
Alexandra POV“No! I’m not,” I protested.“Girl, you’re pink in the face. You can’t lie to me.”“I haven’t… it hasn’t gone that far.”Emmie gasped. “You told me yourself he’s Faye’s father. What do you think she’s going to do when she finds out?”“She won’t! Please stop.” I cradled my head in my hands.“Geez, Alex, I didn’t know you liked them older,” Emmie smirked.“Emmie!”She threw her head back and laughed. “I won’t rain on your parade. Have fun, but be careful.”“Why? Does he still mess around? Does he have a harem of omegas at his pack house?”“I don’t know about a harem, but you could get pregnant if you’re not careful. You’re human, Alex. A wolf baby isn’t the same as a human one. There are lots of complications.”I swallowed hard. “I’m not doing anything with him. He just came to make sure I was okay.”“I thought we didn’t keep secrets from each other!”“You know he was here; it’s not a secret. You can fill in the rest of the information with your imagination.”“You should no
Alexandra POV“Enzo? Why did you follow me?”“Open the damn door so we can talk, Alexandra.”“I don’t need to open the door,” I mumbled.“Would you rather I break it down? I can and pay for the damages later.”I groaned in frustration. I yanked the door open. “I’m so sick of Alpha males!”“What happened to your lip?” He marched into my apartment.I closed the door and locked it.“Nothing happened,” I mumbled.“Xavier happened, didn’t he?”He took my face in his hands before I could respond. “Bastard,” he spat.“I’m sorry, Alex. Let me heal it.”I blinked a few times. “You have healing powers?”Mischief lit up his eyes. “No, but I can heal you. Want to know how?”“I don’t know…”My nipples hardened under my robe. I had a feeling it involved touching, as was the case with wolves. I’d already tasted him, and it was incredible, but he’d also already rejected me. However, the prospect of tasting him again made the possibility of rejection worth it.Ugh, Enzo had broken me. He was turning m
Alexandra POV“Just come home, Alex, please. He’s tearing up the place looking for you. I’ve been worried sick, too.”“I’m coming home.”I hung up and tucked the phone in my bag.“I have to go,” I whispered, avoiding his eyes.He stepped in front of me and stopped me from going any further.“Xavier? The jack ass who made you cry?” He demanded.“It doesn’t matter. He wasn’t always a jack ass to me.”Enzo ran a hand down his face. “What are you talking about?”“I was fated to him, alright. We broke up, though. I don’t know what he wants from me.”“You’ve been fated before?” He raised his brows.“Yes,” I replied, recalling the pain of that rejection.“And you broke up? You mean he rejected you. That little prick,” he spat.“Look, it doesn’t matter. I have to go. I can’t stay here.”“So you’re going to run back into his arms? Fated mates are a big deal, Alex. Xavier never announced to the other packs that he’d found his fated mate and intended Luna.”“People knew about us, though. I’d nev
Alexandra POV“Please be okay,” I pleaded as I ran towards him.How did that tree just fall without a storm or a breath of wind?“Get back!” Enzo growled.“There’s a tree on you!”The veins in his neck bulged against his skin as he struggled to push the thick tree trunk off him. The end of the tree stopped short of the front porch. That’s how long the tree was. “Don’t be so stubborn, let me help you…” I paused. “I’ll go for help.”“No, no!” Enzo barked. “Just get back.”What’s he thinking?!I was in full panic mode. My skin was tight and tense, my forehead pounded from the stress of seeing him pinned to the ground. I stepped back and stepped right on a raised object in the dirt.I hissed, but didn’t scream.Enzo panted heavily. “Alex, I need you to move. Get back to the porch.”I swallowed hard. “You can’t stay like this.”“I need you to trust me.” His voice was soft, but the pain was still evident.I nodded and did as I was told. There was no way my feeble human self could even atte
Alexandra POV“My bed,” Enzo replied.“Huh?”He turned and marched down the short hall. I followed him. His room was the size of my studio, excluding the shower and walk-in closet.“This room could be two rooms. You don’t need all this space,” I stated.“Of course I do.”The room had a massive king-size bed that could easily fit four people. A huge, big screen TV like the one in the living room. It smelled like him. Clean, warm and masculine.“You take the bed, and I’ll take the couch. Simple.”“Wait, you don’t have to do that. You don’t even have to keep me here. I’ll sleep on the couch.”He shook his head. “It’ll allow me to watch the front door.”“I thought you said no one would dare attack the Supreme Alpha?” I mumbled.“They wouldn’t. I just want to be careful. The shower and bathtub are through that door.”I looked into his green eyes. How was I sure my heat wouldn’t lure him to the bed while I slept? Had I made a deal with the devil?“Anything else?” He asked.“N-No. Thank you.
