10 - Queen bee, Priscilla

Lana’s attention was snagged by that male voice. She immediately composed herself and clutched her bag. “Ah, yes. Yes, I am alright.” Lana knew she had entered the office but the guy standing in front of him appeared to be of the same age as the triplets.

Walking closer to the desk where the man was standing she questioned. “Um…may I know the incharge here? I have to get some information regarding my classes.” She was expecting someone older in the office, not some brunette haired young guy.

The man chuckled softly and put down his book, he walked up to the chair and settled himself. “At your service, miss.” Lana’s shocking expressions soon turned into embarrassing ones. Anyone would mistake Lars as an assistant probably.

“Oh! I’m so sorry, sir. I was expecting….” Lana immediately bowed slightly with a soft flushed tone. She could not help but wonder what a youngster like him was doing there. Her eyes stared into his warm hazel ones, such a sweet smile and a comfortable aura.

“Someone older?” Lars swayed a bit in his chair while looking at her. “Maybe bald?” He dramatically raked through his hair, making Lana laugh. “Or maybe someone who cannot function without his braces?” He posed as if had no teeth in his mouth.

Lana laughed hard and was relieved that he didn’t mind her blunder. At least someone was not angry at her for no damn reason. “Well, caught red handed.” She raised her hands in the air, posing as if she had been arrested by cops.

“Haha, it is okay. Have a seat, miss.” Lars gestured towards the opposite chair and began to close his book which he had been reading. Meanwhile, Lana simply stared at him while pulling the chair. It seemed the college wasn’t that bad either.

“Lana. My name is Lana.” She spoke softly with a relief that not everything was bad at the college. Well, apart from the hatred she had been facing in the form of all those angry girls. “I am a transferred student here. And I wanted to know where my class is.”

“Nice to meet you, Miss Lana. I am Lars. If I’m not wrong you are referred by alpha Zaro. Correct?” He smiled at her which made Lana compare him to the triplets. Subconsciously she had been thinking about them without even trying.

Lana nodded and waited for him to say something as Lars kept rustling through the files. He brought up a few pages and handed them to Lana. “Here is your schedule and the classroom is on the first floor towards your right.”

Even though his tone grew professional, the warm smile didn’t leave his lips. Lana couldn’t help but notice that Lars was actually handsome. Broad shoulders, specs, neatly combed hair to one side. Sweetest smile and the way he talked swooned her.

Nonetheless, she stood up from the chair and walked towards the door. It was the moment when Lars called her again, Lana felt as if her heart stopped for a moment. What was happening to her? “Um, wait, miss Lana.” She turned around with nervousness.

Lars walked up to her with a card in his hand. Lana couldn’t help but notice that he was quite taller than her. “Take my card. If you need any help, I am here. Reach me any time.” Lana took the card while looking straight into his eyes.

“Do you distribute your contact among all like this?” She couldn’t control herself and teased him. While Lars simply chuckled and then raked through his hair dramatically. Lana could see that she was only reaching his shoulder and would need to lift herself on toes to reach his face.

“Only for the pretty lady!” Was he implying that he had been giving out his number to all pretty ones? Nonetheless, at that moment Lana’s mind was numb that she didn’t bother to pay heed to his words. She nodded and walked out of the office with a smile, at least something good had finally happened to her.

Her happy mood was soon destroyed when she saw a group of girls outside the office. Lana knew the bad vibes they had been giving. They were five of them clad in pink colour but in different styling. Lana was fully aware why their little gang was standing there waiting for her.

“Are you sure you saw this sack with them?” The one in the centre spoke with a distasteful tone. She ogled Lana from head to toe in disgust as she tried not to puke. Meanwhile, as much as Lana wanted to give them a reply, she wished to stay lowkey. Being invisible during her time there was just beneficial for her. But perhaps trouble loved her!

It was not hard for her to curry favours in the name of alpha Zaro. But she did not wish to because eventually Lana wished to leave the city. However, it seemed the girls were not going to let her off the hook. The middle one who appeared to be their leader stepped forward, distaste and disgust written all over her face.

“I doubt it is what we are thinking. I mean look at her. The brothers must have taken pity on her and gave her a ride.” She lifted Lana’s chin and glared at her face. There was an utter contrast in her and Lana’s appearance which incurred hatred. No doubt, why she crafted that assumption with such a confidence.

“Err, ladies!” It was the moment someone called from behind and the ladies turned their heads. Lana recognized the voice when Saikus appeared like her saviour. “Oh! Priscilla! Hi.” Saikus took Lana’s hand and dragged her away.

“Let me borrow her.” He waved at her and immediately dragged Lana behind her. Saikus knew that offending and having a beef with Priscilla, who was heartthrob of the whole institute. The management had merged high school and college, which was why Saikus came to her rescue.
