Chapter 33

Kira’s POV

"I didn't mean-"

I cut myself off, a smile tugging at my lips. Xavier looked mad. His grip on the wheel was hard enough to break it and his stormy eyes fixed on me so deliciously. Mhmm, I had to have fun with this. He had so much power over me, it was kind of relieving to see I had the same.

"Why are you smiling?" He grunted. "Did I crack a joke, princes?"

I should’ve begged him to calm down. I should’ve apologized. But then when have I ever taken the easy way out?

Instead, my mouth curved into a smirk. “What’s this? Are you… Jealous, Daddy?”

He growled, locking the doors in the car. My heart thudded furiously. Oh shit, now I've done it. I licked my lips, when his gaze snapped to me, blazing. “Say that again.”

My pulse pounded, but I tilted my chin, wiggling my brows at him. “Are you jealous, Xavier Barnes?”

Chapter 32I froze the moment I heard Asher’s voice behind me. There was no time to think, no chance to come up with a clever excuse or hide anywhere better. My heart hammered in my chest as I slowly stood up, hands trembling. I was so doomed. “Hey,” I whispered, forcing a smile and hoping I didn't look like I wanted to cry. “Kira?” Mrs. Barnes exclaimed, rushing towards me with her husband trailing behind. “There you are! We’ve been worried sick.”Mr. Barnes rubbed his chin, frowning. “You gave us quite a scare, young lady. Where did you go? Are you hurt?" I swallowed hard. “I’m okay,” I said softly, trying to sound more composed than I felt. “I just… ahh needed some space.”I couldn't very well tell them that I had been in Xavier's bed, my parents were going to kill me. Mrs. Barnes looked me up and down, concern creasing her brow. “Why did you run away like that? Four hours is a long time. We didn’t know what happened, your poor mother has been worried sick.”I shifted uncom

Chapter 31Kira’s POVI woke up warm. I should have suspected right from the start. I couldn't remember how I got to where I was, but all I knew was that I was too warm. The sheets were soft. My body still ached, and his scent clung to every inch of my skin, cedar, spice, him.Xavier.My chest tightened. My lips were swollen. My thighs, God.I sat up fast.Shit! Dinner. I whipped around, eyes landing on the bedside clock. It was almost midnight. Four hours. It had been four freaking hours since I left the table to “get some air" or whatever excuse I had told everyone. Was it to find the bathroom? I couldn't remember. Xavier had pretty much fucked me blind. I scrambled out of bed, tugging on my wrinkled dress. I couldn't find my panties, so I just ignored them. I had to get the hell out of here. What would my parents think? Were the even still around? What about Asher? Oh god. My heart slammed against my ribs as I reached for the door. Maybe I could sneak out and lie to my pare

His mouth latched onto my inner thigh, teasing. Kissing. Biting. But never where I needed it.I whimpered. His fingers dipped into me but only barely. Then stopped. Then started again. Slow. Deliberate. My hips bucked."Stay still," he warned."I can’t. Please, please, I need”My breath hitched. He lowered his mouth to my ear. "You’re flushed.""I ran up the stairs."His lips brushed my jaw. "You’re wet."His hands slid up my thighs, under my dress. I squirmed, but he held me still."Xavier, someone could come.""Then keep your pretty little voice down."He tugged my panties aside and pressed a kiss to my inner thigh. Then he licked me. My legs buckled."Fuck—Xavier—please."He didn’t stop. He didn’t speed up either. Just slow licks that had my head spinning.I was close. Too fast. But he pulled back."No," I whimpered. He smirked. "You don’t cum until I say."I opened my mouth to argue—A knock. My whole body went still."Kira?" Asher’s voice. Muffled through the door. "Have you se

CHAPTER 29KIRAI should’ve faked a headache. Or a power outage. Anything but show up at this dinner. The second I stepped into the dining room, the air choked me.Xavier was already there. Black shirt. Rolled sleeves. One arm resting over the back of his chair like he owned the table. Like he owned everything. He looked at me.Asher was beside him, and my mom sat at the head of the table, swirling wine in her glass.“Kira, darling,” she said with that perfect, cool smile. “You’re late.”“Sorry.” I slid into the seat next to Asher, carefully avoiding Xavier’s gaze.Asher leaned in and pressed a kiss to my cheek.I froze. My spine stiffened. My hands curled into fists in my lap. I didn’t move, didn’t breathe. And I felt it. Xavier’s eyes. Burning.Like a warning.“Hi,” I said quietly, shifting away.Asher didn’t seem to notice. Or maybe he just didn’t care.“You look nice,” he said.“Thanks.”Xavier’s fingers tapped against the glass in front of him.Asher's mom spoke up. “So, how’s sc

CHAPTER 28KIRA I woke up in a bed that didn’t feel like mine. The sheets were soft. For a second, I panicked. Then I remembered. The collar. The cuffs. The way he’d—I sat up too fast. My thighs ached. My body felt used in the most possessive, sinful way.But it was the dryness in my throat that finally made me move.I padded to the door in one of his shirts. The hallway was quiet. Somewhere deeper in the house, I heard a low voice.I followed it without thinking. His office door was open. He stood inside—shirtless, barefoot, hair messy.Phone to his ear.“No,” he snapped. “That’s not what I said. I said if the numbers don’t match by morning, I’ll pull the entire division.”He paused. His eyes stayed on the monitors behind him, lines of data I couldn’t read.“I don’t care whose hands are dirty. I want names. Send them. I’m done with incompetence.”I didn’t breathe. Then—“Don’t waste my time again.”He hung up.His voice didn’t raise once. “I know you’re there,” he said, still fac
