LOGINTime sped, I freshened up, wore a new cloth, and boarded a cab home.
My hands trembled as I placed a knock on our house gate. "Yes, who's there?" I heard the man's voice from behind the gate. "It's me, Clara." I replied, gently tapping my canvas on the floor. "Oooh welcome ma'am, your mom has been expecting you." He said while opening the gate. I walked in and pushed open the main entrance door. My heart skipped a beat as soon as I stepped in and met with his eyes. My father's eyes, the one that could send one into the wrong way instead of the right. My mom told me never to fear him but no matter how I tried I still felt unsettled around him. " Have you been rusticated. " He said, his voice thick and hoarse. "That shouldn't be the first question you should ask your daughter." My mom voiced, as she climbed down the stairs. "Momma." I called out and ran off to give her a hug. "Hey baby girl, what took you so long?" My mom said, raising up my jaw. "A very long story, mom." I replied, a smile surfacing on my cheeks. "I miss you my dear." She said, "I miss you more mom, more than you can ever imagine. " I replied, trapping my hands into hers. Silence stretched between us as I sat on her soft bouncing bed. "You look more beautiful, baby girl." She finally said, breaking the silence. "Of course mom I'm born to look like you." I replied, beaming with a smile. "Hmmm I know but Ethan is also doing a great job " She said, moving closer to me. "Ethan. " I said, shifting my gaze to the floor. "Is there something wrong?" She asked. "You wanted to talk about something important, mom." I mouthed, changing the conversation. "Yes, the reason I called you over, Clara. I had a dream about you a few days ago." She said, her voice cracking. "I'm listening, mom." I replied, focusing on her face. "I dreamt about you Clara, I dreamt that you got pregnant. " She said, picking her words. I blinked, my eyes widening " Pregnant?" "And that's not all." She said, "What else mom?" "You didn't even know the father of your child then everyone mocked us and..Samantha.. She finally took over his company. " My heart skipped a beat. Mom's dreams always found a way of coming true. And now she dreams about me. "Mom." I mouthed, trying to find the right word to say. "I know my dream always found a way of coming to reality but I trust you, Clara. I know you can't do something that terrible." She voiced out. I sniffed and cleared my throat. "Of course mom but I still need to be careful. I fear your dream a lot." I mouthed. "Sure I know but everything is going to be alright, Clara. Samantha is not going to take over the company under our watch." She said, placing her hand on my shoulder. I slightly nodded my head in response. "I'm heading out to my mall to check some things, see you soon." She said, stood up from the bed, waved at me and walked out of the room. I blinked, pulled my shoe and sank into the bed, staring at the ceiling. Nothing was different, the same paint, same furniture and same Cologne scent. My hands moved on the bed, enjoying this softness and warmth. But then the image flashed through my mind again. That stupid black car. The splash of muddy water. And that arrogant smirk on James Hunter's face. I sniffed. I really missed home. I was still enjoying this moment when my phone beeped. It was a message from Emile. "You're always lucky, girl." She typed. "What's up. " I texted. "The party was postponed to Tuesday night." "Oh come on, Emile. You know I'm not in for parties. " I replied. "Yeah I know but this one you're going to attend it dear." I let out a short chuckle. "Let's wait and see then." I replied. I dropped my phone when I saw she was offline. I exhaled. I stood up from the bed and walked out of the room. My legs ached as I took the first step on the stairs. I needed fresh air and I also needed to clear off my head. My brows drew together as my ears rang to a voice that sounded familiar. I walked down the stairs and my eyes landed on the least person I was expecting. Samantha. She was sitting next to dad having a conversation with him with a pie in hand. I shrugged and proceeded to walk past when I heard her voice. "Woah, what the hell? Were you trailing me here?" She said, standing up from the chair. "I'd gotten here before you did." I replied, staring back at her. The memory of what she did burned through me. "That's a filthy lie." She said, pointing her fingers at me. My hands clutched. " Why are you so bitter?" I replied without blinking. "Really am I? Well I already told dad how you're a whore at school." She said, licking her bottom lips. I let out a silent gasp. What the hell was she talking about? My fist clenched as I walked closer to her. "What do you want to do to fight me for telling the truth?" She said, stepping back. "Touch her and I'd send you out of this house, you pretender." Dad said, standing up to his feet. I paused and took in a quick breath. "You're definitely going to meet your match, Samantha. I promise you that." I said and hurried back up the stairs. I get it now dad was on the side of Samantha. He was always siding with her, believing every damn thing she said. And now she has become the favourite daughter of my father leaving me behind to only my mom. But one thing always baffled my mind. What's the main reason why dad adores her far more than me? And why did mom care so much about me far more than her? It was like that even before we started our quarrel but I'd notice it more now. My breath hitched. Was there a secret they were hiding from me?I rubbed my closed eyelids and gave out a loud yawn as I woke up from sleep. My gaze landed on Ivy and Emile. They were both still sleeping.I sat up and yawned again. Yesterday was freaking stressful. After the sweet long kiss, we ordered some stuffs for the party, and James also took me outing. My mom also called me a lot of times, to the point that I had to promise her I was coming home this weekend. That was the sole reason I woke up early.I rose up from my bed, wore my home slippers, and staggered to the bathroom.I exhaled as the cold water ran through my hands.I brushed my teeth and entered into the bathing tub.I switched it to warm water instead of the cold one.A broad smile appeared on my face as my head replayed what happened yesterday.I still can't believe I let that dick head kiss me.Oooh my gosh, the kiss was damn sweet.I had never gotten that type of kiss from Ethan before. He also took me outing to three different places.James is a guy that knows what a lady rea
I quickly drew my chair backward and scanned around to see who it was.My gaze fell on James. He wasn't squatting anymore; he was sitting on a chair next to me. So quick. My gaze finally fell on the person that called me.I placed my hand on my chest as I exhaled. It was the same lady that disrupted me in Physics Fundamental class.I didn't even remember her name."Yes... how may I help you?" I struggled to talk calmly."Just decided to say hi," she responded.I nodded my head a little. Her eyes showed otherwise. She had definitely seen us. I kept quiet, waiting for her to talk about what she saw.But instead, she looked at us for some seconds and finally stepped out.I blinked rapidly. She was a weirdo. I stared back at James. He was busy on his phone now."The review has been cancelled," James voiced out, his gaze still on his phone. Why was he behaving like nothing just happened?I blinked. Whatever. At least now I know that I'm not the only one feeling this way.It feels like a hu
His phone rang. My gaze fell on the caller: Sandra. That was a girl calling him. I shifted my gaze away from his phone before he noticed.I blinked rapidly as he stared at the caller briefly and shifted his gaze away.I swallowed. Wasn't he going to pick the call?I bit my bottom lip the minute the call ended.I focused my gaze back on the equipment when the phone rang again.I looked at him this time. He did the same again, stared at the screen for a few seconds, and looked away."Aren't you going to pick your call?" I asked, looking at him."No, don't worry about that," he muttered. The phone call came to an end again.I slightly nodded and looked back at the equipment the second time.Sooner than expected, the phone rang again.I took in a deep breath and released it. His phone's ringing tone was deafening, and I couldn't take it anymore."It's either you pick the call or I do, James," I said, trying to be serious. He looked up at me and burst into laughter.I knew he was laughing
My heart skipped a beat as I looked at Emile. "We don't need to get scared now. We can actually map this out but first we are going to take an oath." Emile said."Okay..okay." Ivy stammered, holding tight the hem of her pajamas.Suddenly I heard a faint voice calling my name.I gasped. Had they found out? I covered my ears with my two hands and shut my eyes.My breath hitched as I felt a tap on my shoulder.I snapped my eyes open. My gaze fell on Ivy. She was standing right next to me.I blinked. I was lying down on my bed. So it was all a dream.I heaved a sigh of relief and sat on the bed."What's wrong? You were talking and rolling on the bed." Ivy said."Did you go out yesterday's night?" I asked, ignoring her first question."You haven't answered my question, Clara." Ivy mouthed. My gaze fell on Emile, she was still sleeping."What's wrong with Emile? She’s still sleeping by this time." I said."I don't know. Ask her when she wakes up." Ivy said, with a smile."Hope we aren't ha
"What are you doing here!" The masculine voice vibrated through my system.I could even heat Ivy's heart best. "You guys can go." Emile said and turned back. What leave! How on earth was that going to be possible? We can't leave without her. I turned to ask her how we were going to survive leaving without her.My gaze landed on the guy. I froze. It was him.The rink guy I hit with a broken bottle at the party.I quickly turned back and ran alongside Ivy before he recognized me.I could hear Ivy running behind me. Faster than her also.I exhaled as I and Ivy got out of the male's dorm."We can't go back to the female's dorm now." I said."Why?" I heard Emile's voice.I breathed out a sigh of relief. Our strong and brave lady was finally back."We can't go in. The gate man shouted after he heard the stool collapse. Don't you remember." I said, gesturing with my hands."So what should we do now?" Emile asked."I don't know." I replied."You know what. Sometimes we just have to risk somet
My phone rang. I blinked rapidly as I struggled to keep my eyes open.My gaze landed on the alarm clock. 1:48am.That was still late in the night. Who on earth could be calling at such an hour.I stretched my hand backward and took my phone.I paused. Unknown number. I moved the call button to the right. "Hello." A thin feminine voice vibrated through my ear drum."Hello, who's this?" I asked."That's not necessary right now." I was reading outside my room when I saw Ivy walk out with something like a sharp object. Does she sleep walk?" The Lady explained."Nooo." I screamed out and dropped the phone on the bed.I quickly turned to the right to see whether Ivy was still on her bed.I froze, the lady was right. I rose up from my bed, fastened the buttons of my pajamas and walked towards Ivy's bed.Ivy wasn't there and the knife was....also gone.I ran towards Emile and tapped her."What is it, Clara?" She asked."Ivy and the knife is gone " I struggled to mutter. She quickly took the d
Ethan's POVI slung my cross bag over my head and stood up.I needed to get to my room fast, really quick.Dad had sent me a text to call him when I got to my room.A smirk appeared on my face, I still wonder how Clara got to my bathroom a few days past. She was the worst stalker I'd ever seen. But
My legs ached as I hurried to the lecture room. I was back to school on Monday and I'd left home since Sunday.I took in a quick breath and walked into the class.Posters and fliers were everywhere about James Hunter, the celebrity king's birthday.Such a dumb ass, posting his upcoming birthday da
My phone beeped repeatedly as I packed up some of my clothes. I woke up really late. I was busy thinking of what mom could possibly want to talk about and lost count of time.I sniffed. I need to be quick so I don't miss the train. The door creaked open and Emile stepped in."Are you for real, Cla
The hallway was full of students as usual. Different outfits. Different colognes. Different values. My legs ached as I hurried to the male's dorm. "Where are you off to?" The security man asked me immediately as I got to the dorm. "I forgot my textbook with my brother." I replied. I didn't hav
