Left in the universe

He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. He wanted to comfort his daughter but it wasn't that simple. He knew how much it hurt to be told you weren't good enough but it wasn't like that.

No one would ever tell anyone that they were good enough because no one would actually mean that. He couldn't promise to fix the situation, but maybe he could make her happy.

Maybe, if he made sure she knew that she deserved someone better, then she would believe him. He took a deep breath and pushed himself out of his seat. He walked over to the couch before kneeling in front of her.

His knees hit the hardwood flooring and Celine jumped a little in surprise at the sudden change in position.

"Listen kiddo," He started as he slowly reached forward.

"There are some people out there that aren't good for you. Some people aren't good for anybody."

He let out a sigh as he reached forward. He grabbed both of her hands in his own and pulled them away from her face to look into her eyes
