He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. He wanted to comfort his daughter but it wasn't that simple. He knew how much it hurt to be told you weren't good enough but it wasn't like that. No one would ever tell anyone that they were good enough because no one would actually mean that. He couldn't promise to fix the situation, but maybe he could make her happy. Maybe, if he made sure she knew that she deserved someone better, then she would believe him. "Why don't we take a walk?" She suggested softly. "We haven't gone outside in a while."He gave a smile as he nodded his head in agreement."That sounds nice." "Maybe the zoo?"She frowned slightly."Is that alright?"He nodded his head slightly."Yeah, that sounds great."She smiled lightly and turned to face him."Then lead the way." Roman growled threateningly at his brother as he slammed the door in his face and slammed his fist against the door repeatedly, screaming profanities at him. He collapsed onto the floor panting heavily. He stared at the ground blankly as tears streamed down his cheeks. He heard footsteps coming towards the stairs, however, he didn't bother looking up."King Roman." Celine whispered sadly.He ignored her as he continued to cry softly. He was terrified of his eldest brother knowing about Celine. He knew that if his brother ever found out that his son and heir was having an affair, he would never forgive him. She opened her eyes wide and looked around in confusion. Why was she in another room? She looked up and gasped loudly. Standing in front of her, his hands pressed firmly against her sides, was her future husband, Roman. His green eyes gazed at her intensely. The heat radiating from his body radiated through the thin fabric of her nightshirt. Slowly, he bent his head downwards and pressed his lips against hers. She responded enthusiastically, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. He groaned and deepened the kiss, his tongue gliding across her bottom lip. "We should go downstairs and start dinner." He muttered."Alright." She agreed easily.When they got downstairs, however, it appeared that they weren't alone. There was a large group of people standing around and eating in the dining room. Upon seeing Celine emerge from behind Roman, however, the entire crowd grew silent and turned to look at her. Her blood ran cold. The faces of the wolves she'd seen staring at her earlier flashed quickly through her mind. It made her stomach turn. The one wolf in particular, however, seemed especially curious about her. She couldn't tell what his facial features looked like, she was unable to look directly at him. Nevertheless, she somehow knew that he would recognize her eventually. A shiver went up her spine and she gripped tightly on to Roman's arm.Roman noticed her discomfort and frowned worriedly. "No. You have to eat some of this." He said softly.His eyes were gentle. Almost sympathetic. But his expression remained stoic. There was no warmth in his gaze. No kindness. Just pure emotionless determination. That's when she noticed how much he looked alike her late father. The way his jawline was sharp and square and his piercing green eyes burned into yours. The way he held himself. Even the way he spoke. So, after agreeing that it would probably be better if he accompanied her, he reluctantly followed her outside the house to the gardens where she usually liked to play. He stood behind her as she ran through the flowers, giggling joyously as she skipped and jumped around the grass. His eyes flitted around curiously, observing everything around him. It was very different to the gardens he was familiar with in Rome. For one thing, there weren't many trees here. Instead, there was just a small hill in the middle of the gardens. And there wasn't much to see either. There was the occasional flower bed with various flowers blooming everywhere. Then there was a huge pond at the other side of the garden that Celine loved to wade into when she felt particularly lonely. She always tried to convince Roman to join her, but he refused everytime.
