Chapter Ten

Cass

I was startled awake, not opening my eyes. I didn’t want it to be real. They were gone and it was my fault. If I opened my eyes, it would make everything that had happened earlier real.

That I’d given myself to a monster. Traded my body for our safety, and he’d claimed that I was his. I swallowed hard. This was the punishment that I deserved for their deaths. Cora didn’t deserve this, she deserved happy and normal moments.

Instead, I’d messed up and now we were here.

Just this evening, we had a moment where we could pretend that we weren’t just struggling to survive. We’d been going to see a movie. A rare treat for us, I’d earned extra tips and I knew that my sister wanted to see the latest romantic comedy. It wasn’t what I would have picked, it had been fun though.

Drinking soda and eating popcorn as we watched the couple on the big screen fall in love. It was nice. On the way home, Cora had gushed about wanting to find that one day. I hadn’t noticed the men following us until they’d grabbed my arm. I’d fought to get loose, ordering Cora to run.

She’d listened and bolted off, I’d head-butted one of them before taking off after her. Pulling her into an alleyway in the hopes that they’d run past us.

They hadn’t. Now, we were here and it was my fault. I’d failed Cora.

Shaking my head, I licked my lips. My tongue felt heavy and dry, like sandpaper as I moved it along my teeth. I gave in, finally opening my eyes.

It was real.

I was in Lucian’s bed. The room was dark except for the soft light coming from the open bathroom door. Without him to pull my attention away, I sat up, studying the room.

The walls were bare concrete with no windows. Hardwood flooring had been placed over the concrete and there was a large stone fireplace dominating the wall. No decorations to make it feel like it was a home.

This was just a room, there was a heavy-looking dresser a few feet away from the bed. I had the strangest urge to open the drawers, to find out the things that he liked.

It had to be the bond I’d never felt that urge with previous partners. Shaking my head to try to get rid of the thought, I looked at the bed. The kingsize mattress sat on a platform, a metal frame bolted into the wall above the bed made me curious as to what he would do with something like that.

My neck ached and I touched the bite mark, I wasn’t bleeding any more. Instead, it felt tender and I knew that my flesh would be bruised. I hoped it didn’t leave a scar but I had a feeling that it would.

I could hear muffled voices behind the closed door and I wondered what they were talking about. The doorknob turned and I sucked in a breath, trying to calm my racing heart so I could be what Lucian wanted me to be.

He slipped into the room, his eyes growing darker. Despite the dimness, I had no trouble seeing his onyx-colored glittering eyes. He leaned back against the door, his tongue darting out over his lower lip as he looked at me. I felt like I was being hunted. His eyes moved down my body and I had the urge to pull the sheets up. To cover myself from the heat of his gaze.

I didn’t though, I knew that he wouldn’t like that. He’d told me earlier that I was never to hide myself from him. Sitting up straighter, I shook my hair behind my shoulders. His hands moved down his stomach. Fisting himself through his sweats, he groaned before pulling them down.

The black material fell to the floor as he prowled forward. My breath caught in my throat and I wanted to run from him.

How could anyone look that scary and sexy at the same time?

My heart raced, even though the fear my body was already clenching up in anticipation of the earth-shattering bliss that I knew he could give me.

I didn’t want to crave him the way that I was. It wasn’t right, no sane person would want the things that he could give me. When he reached the bed, he didn’t stop. Instead, he climbed up, crawling closer to me.

He straddled my legs, his hand coming up to tangle in my hair as he pulled me into a kiss that I knew would leave my lips swollen and tender. His erection bobbed against my stomach and I brought my hands between our bodies. He let out a growl as I worked my hand over his member.

Amazed that something so hard could feel like velvet under my fingertips. Dragging his foreskin back, I stroked my fist up and down. Brushing my thumb against the head of his leaking dick.

He shook, thrusting himself against me as he tightened his hold on me. “You taste so sweet.” His voice was husky against my lips and I shivered, “Almost as sweet as you smell, do you know that I can smell how much you want me?”

I pressed my legs together, shaking my head. My cheeks flamed with embarrassment, “No, Lucian.”

He kissed me hard again, pushing me back onto the bed. I moved my hands to his sides. Tracing them up and down the hard lines of his body, my hard nipples pressed against his skin. I shifted my thighs open and he settled himself against me. The sheet was the only thing stopping him from penetrating me.

“Like honey and apples.” He said trailing kisses and teeth that were too sharp down my jaw as he rocked his hips. “I could spend all day tasting you.”

I shook beneath him, the friction of his dick rubbing me through the sheets stimulating my already sensitive sex further. The thought of him tasting me, lapping at my cunt until I came made my body tense up. His tongue moved over the bite mark and fireworks lit up behind my clenched eyelids as I came.

Chapter TwentyCassLucian’s threat hung in the air. I tried to stand up, but Bash moved his hands to my waist. Holding me in place, his breath was ragged and I could feel swirling emotions that weren’t my own. It was the same feeling I got from Lucian. Why had he claimed me if Lucian already had? Was this what Kaida had meant? That I was theirs? Why did the thought of Lucian hunting me down make my heart race? What was wrong with me? Part of me wanted to try and make a break for it just to see if he meant what he said. The sane, rational part of my brain warned me. I knew that I couldn’t leave Cora here. If I ran, then she’d be trapped here with them. I very much doubted that going to the police would be any help, and if I left, Lucian might take it out on her.The dark part of me, the one that took pleasure in the things that we had done together. Wanted me to run, to find out if he’d make good on his threat, what Bash would do. Would they do it together? Arousal coiled low in the

Chapter NineteenDragging my hands down her neck, I caressed the bite mark. Watching the way that it made her shiver, “She will, she’s a good girl.”Her shoulders shook with the slightest of tremors at my words. But she didn’t say anything. Instead, she moved to stand, her face slipping into a mask of calmness as she became resigned to her fate. I tucked myself back into my slacks, fastening the zipper. Watching her back straighten, she turned away from me, making her way to my brother. I couldn’t help the way my eyes lingered on the backs of her thighs. The skin was marked with bruises from the night before. She stopped in front of Bash and he looked up at her, hunger in his eyes. His movements were quick, and I heard her gasp as he pulled her down into his lap. She brought her hands up, bracing herself against his chest to keep from falling into him. His hand came up to the back of her neck, and he pulled her close. “Kitten, you smell so good.” His voice was thick, thumb moving ac

Chapter EighteenI wanted to tell her to hurry up, but I didn’t want to end the curious look in her eye as she dragged my foreskin back. Wrapping her fist around my cock, she pulled it down and I sucked in a breath. Her mouth moved closer to the weeping tip. She sucked in a breath, resting her hand on my thigh as she sucked me into her mouth. My head hit the back of the chair when she swirled her tongue around the slit. Probing it with the tip of her tongue. Her fist moved up as she pressed her tongue flat, taking me deeper. Cass worked her hand up and down, stroking the parts of me that she couldn’t take in. If I’d thought fucking her was amazing, nothing compared to this. She tried to take me deeper, the gagging sound filling the room, bouncing off the walls. Exciting me even more.I opened my eyes, looking down at her. She pulled back, taking a breath. Her eyes watered as she struggled to catch her breath. “Sorry.”“Don’t apologize, keep sucking me.” I moved my hand to the back of

Chapter SeventeenLucian“Come here, little bird,” I growled out, leaning back in my chair. Cass shivered but stepped closer, dropping her hands to her sides. Her nipples were hard beneath the silk fabric, I wanted to sit her on my lap to play with them until she squirmed against me. Her breathy moans filled the room, the others would be able to hear her cries but I didn’t care. I had thought that Bash touching my mate would anger both me and my dragon. It didn’t. Something about seeing the two of them together felt right. The way that she leaned her body against his. How his eyes had flickered as he breathed in her scent, his nose trailing over her skin. Everything about it had left me wanting.“Lucian?” Her voice shook as she stopped in front of my desk, her gray eyes wide as she waited for my next command. “Closer to me.” She dipped her head, fingers tangling in the hem of her short dress. Revealing more of her pale thighs to my hungry gaze. I needed to get her more clothing. Th

Chapter SixteenStepping into the hallway, I pulled the door closed behind me. “Come here, little bird.” Lucian’s voice was muffled by the door. I knew that tone. It was commanding and powerful and made goosebumps rise along my arms. ‘Little bird,’ shaking my head, I mouthed those words as I turned away, walking at an easy pace. Tucking my hands into my pockets. My brother had never given any of his previous partners a nickname. That was more my style than his. I wondered if he realized how he felt about her yet? I’d seen the hunger in his eyes, smelled his arousal for her in the air. His shoulders going tense beneath his tailored suit jacket. He was the one of us that never lost his cool demeanor. Until Cass, around her, that facade seemed to go out the window. My brother was smitten. I knew she didn’t realize it yet. She was human. She wouldn’t know how quickly these things worked for us. Once we found our mate, it was over. They were the ones that we would crave with every fi

Chapter FifteenBashStopping outside of my brother’s office door, I could hear the steady tones of his voice through the thick steel. He was on the phone with Nick, talking about Dominic. I knew that he was ready to have him out of our thrall. He was nothing but a liability and he didn’t care for the family.I’d never met someone so self-centered before. Most shifters fought for the good of the thrall or pack. Seeking to take care of each other for the greater good. Not Dominic, he’d proven that he had no leader. When father was taken down and Lucian stepped up. I thought that he would stay behind with the others. The ones that didn’t agree with my brothers and I. The ones that didn’t want Lucian to lead. Instead, he’d come with us. Trying to create problems every step of the way. We needed him gone. Hopefully, the wolves would take care of him. Lucian stopped talking, and I heard the click of a phone as he ended the call. Bringing up my fist, I knocked once. Cass stiffened beside
