Chapter Fifteen

Bash

Stopping outside of my brother’s office door, I could hear the steady tones of his voice through the thick steel. He was on the phone with Nick, talking about Dominic. I knew that he was ready to have him out of our thrall.

He was nothing but a liability and he didn’t care for the family.

I’d never met someone so self-centered before. Most shifters fought for the good of the thrall or pack. Seeking to take care of each other for the greater good. Not Dominic, he’d proven that he had no leader.

When father was taken down and Lucian stepped up. I thought that he would stay behind with the others.

The ones that didn’t agree with my brothers and I. The ones that didn’t want Lucian to lead. Instead, he’d come with us. Trying to create problems every step of the way. We needed him gone. Hopefully, the wolves would take care of him.

Lucian stopped talking, and I heard the click of a phone as he ended the call. Bringing up my fist, I knocked once. Cass stiffened beside me, I tightened my arm around her waist. Looking down at her.

It was hard to believe what Lucian had said to me this morning. How he’d felt drawn to her, how his dragon wanted to keep her. We’d been talking about taking a mate and a perfect one had fallen into his lap. The lucky beast.

That worked out for me.

I wanted a mate, but we had our pact and I wouldn’t violate it. My dragon was interested in her. We wanted to see just how much our feisty kitten could handle before she begged for it. I bet she looked good on her knees, her gray eyes looking up at me filled with a challenge.

Ready to fight me every step of the way. My cock stirred to life, and I licked my lower lip. Lucian had said he needed more time before he was willing to share her, but I didn’t know how long I could wait.

“Come in,” Lucian called out, and I pasted on that easy-going smile. I knew how hard things had been for him lately. Cass was just what he needed. Even if he didn’t want to tell me or the others yet.

He had claimed her. That to me was telling enough. She had survived the night with him and was still standing. From what he’d said, she’d taken everything that he could give and more.

Would she be able to handle all of us?

I hoped so.

I wanted to see what she was like relaxed. Not this tense, worried version of her. Maybe later Lucian would let me take her out? We could go dancing, do normal couple-y

A dragon could hope.

“Bash.” He said, dragging a hand over his face as he leaned back in his leather chair. His eyes moved to Cass, and I saw the briefest flicker of a smile before his face went back to normal. I could see it in his eyes. That was something he wouldn’t be able to hide from me. I knew him better than I knew myself. Growing up, he’d been my best friend. My confidant, my protector when mother would get jealous of the others.

“I brought you your mate, dear brother.” I walked closer to his desk, pulling Cass along with me. Her back was straight and the tension flowing off of her was tangent. I could taste it, along with something I hadn’t been expecting.

Arousal, just being near Lucian, turned her on. I ran my palm up her side. Feeling the flutter of her heart beating faster, pulling her closer to me.

Was it my touch?

Was it seeing my brother?

Breathing in that sweet honey-like scent of her, my mouth watered and my teeth grew to sharp points. I wanted to sink my teeth into her, claim her for my own. Take my time teasing her, tasting her while he watched. My dick went half hard. She leaned into my touch, shivering as my hand moved up beneath her breast.

I don’t think she was even aware that she was doing it.

My brother was.

Lucian’s eyes shifted to dark glowing orbs. Moving to my hand as I traced the seam of her slip dress with my fingertips. Her pulse sped up, breath hitching just the slightest. Turning my head towards her I smiled, knowing that I was baring too many teeth.

That my dragon was barely contained beneath the surface.

“You smell so good, kitten.” I ran my nose along her neck, my thumb moving along the underside of her breast. “Oliver was right. Good enough to eat.”

Cass tensed up but didn’t say anything. She didn’t need to. Her cheeks were flushed, confusion clear in her stormy eyes. I leaned closer to her, my thumb brushed over her hard nipple.

God, I wanted to sit her on his desk, to suck her tits into my mouth. Tug at the tight peaks with my teeth. Make her moan and squirm for me. I wanted to drown myself in her scent, cover her in my own. Mark her up with bites so that there would be no way she could forget that it was me making her all hot and bothered.

“Bash.” Lucian’s voice was husky, pulling me out of my seduction of his mate.

“Brother,” I said, tilting my head to the side. My gaze met his, and I knew that he liked watching me play with his mate.

“You should go check on William.”

“I don’t think he needs me right now.” I caressed my thumb over her nipple again, and she pressed into my hand. Smirking at Lucian, I did it again, and he lifted an eyebrow, his hands resting flat on the desk as he leaned forward. Struggling to stay seated. Desire in his eyes as they moved to Cass and I knew that she was about to be taken by him.

“You may come back after you do.”

“Is that a promise?”

He nodded. My smirk grew to a smile, and I let my arm fall from around her. She looked up at me, her pupils dilated. I pecked her cheek before turning away. “I’ll see you soon, kitten.”

Chapter TwentyCassLucian’s threat hung in the air. I tried to stand up, but Bash moved his hands to my waist. Holding me in place, his breath was ragged and I could feel swirling emotions that weren’t my own. It was the same feeling I got from Lucian. Why had he claimed me if Lucian already had? Was this what Kaida had meant? That I was theirs? Why did the thought of Lucian hunting me down make my heart race? What was wrong with me? Part of me wanted to try and make a break for it just to see if he meant what he said. The sane, rational part of my brain warned me. I knew that I couldn’t leave Cora here. If I ran, then she’d be trapped here with them. I very much doubted that going to the police would be any help, and if I left, Lucian might take it out on her.The dark part of me, the one that took pleasure in the things that we had done together. Wanted me to run, to find out if he’d make good on his threat, what Bash would do. Would they do it together? Arousal coiled low in the

Chapter NineteenDragging my hands down her neck, I caressed the bite mark. Watching the way that it made her shiver, “She will, she’s a good girl.”Her shoulders shook with the slightest of tremors at my words. But she didn’t say anything. Instead, she moved to stand, her face slipping into a mask of calmness as she became resigned to her fate. I tucked myself back into my slacks, fastening the zipper. Watching her back straighten, she turned away from me, making her way to my brother. I couldn’t help the way my eyes lingered on the backs of her thighs. The skin was marked with bruises from the night before. She stopped in front of Bash and he looked up at her, hunger in his eyes. His movements were quick, and I heard her gasp as he pulled her down into his lap. She brought her hands up, bracing herself against his chest to keep from falling into him. His hand came up to the back of her neck, and he pulled her close. “Kitten, you smell so good.” His voice was thick, thumb moving ac

Chapter EighteenI wanted to tell her to hurry up, but I didn’t want to end the curious look in her eye as she dragged my foreskin back. Wrapping her fist around my cock, she pulled it down and I sucked in a breath. Her mouth moved closer to the weeping tip. She sucked in a breath, resting her hand on my thigh as she sucked me into her mouth. My head hit the back of the chair when she swirled her tongue around the slit. Probing it with the tip of her tongue. Her fist moved up as she pressed her tongue flat, taking me deeper. Cass worked her hand up and down, stroking the parts of me that she couldn’t take in. If I’d thought fucking her was amazing, nothing compared to this. She tried to take me deeper, the gagging sound filling the room, bouncing off the walls. Exciting me even more.I opened my eyes, looking down at her. She pulled back, taking a breath. Her eyes watered as she struggled to catch her breath. “Sorry.”“Don’t apologize, keep sucking me.” I moved my hand to the back of

Chapter SeventeenLucian“Come here, little bird,” I growled out, leaning back in my chair. Cass shivered but stepped closer, dropping her hands to her sides. Her nipples were hard beneath the silk fabric, I wanted to sit her on my lap to play with them until she squirmed against me. Her breathy moans filled the room, the others would be able to hear her cries but I didn’t care. I had thought that Bash touching my mate would anger both me and my dragon. It didn’t. Something about seeing the two of them together felt right. The way that she leaned her body against his. How his eyes had flickered as he breathed in her scent, his nose trailing over her skin. Everything about it had left me wanting.“Lucian?” Her voice shook as she stopped in front of my desk, her gray eyes wide as she waited for my next command. “Closer to me.” She dipped her head, fingers tangling in the hem of her short dress. Revealing more of her pale thighs to my hungry gaze. I needed to get her more clothing. Th

Chapter SixteenStepping into the hallway, I pulled the door closed behind me. “Come here, little bird.” Lucian’s voice was muffled by the door. I knew that tone. It was commanding and powerful and made goosebumps rise along my arms. ‘Little bird,’ shaking my head, I mouthed those words as I turned away, walking at an easy pace. Tucking my hands into my pockets. My brother had never given any of his previous partners a nickname. That was more my style than his. I wondered if he realized how he felt about her yet? I’d seen the hunger in his eyes, smelled his arousal for her in the air. His shoulders going tense beneath his tailored suit jacket. He was the one of us that never lost his cool demeanor. Until Cass, around her, that facade seemed to go out the window. My brother was smitten. I knew she didn’t realize it yet. She was human. She wouldn’t know how quickly these things worked for us. Once we found our mate, it was over. They were the ones that we would crave with every fi
