"Are you okay?" Ezra asks me.

"Yeah…" I mutter. "It's just weird being without you."

Ezra sighs softly and then he drops his hand from my cheek. I drop my fork onto my plate and then I take Ezra's hand in mine, squeezing his fingers lightly.

I lean forward slightly and then I rest my forehead against Ezra's. Ezra wraps his arms around me tightly and then he buries his face in my hair. For a long minute or two, neither of us say anything.

I close my eyes and I wish that time could stop and that nothing would ever change. I wish that everything between us could stay exactly like it is and forever.

"Let's go swimming later," Ezra murmurs softly.

"Maybe after lunch." Ezra adds.
