Before anyone else could reply, one of the soldiers kicked open the door. Once we stepped outside, we were greeted by blinding sunlight. All of us squinted as we looked around. Once inside, I immediately noticed that all of the other occupants of the cabin looked like they were frozen. Their faces were pale and their mouths hung open. They hadn't seen us arrive. They seemed to be in deep sleep. One of the prisoners was lying on the floor asleep, while two others sat across from each other, leaning against the wall. The fifth prisoner was sitting in a chair near the doorway, holding an old man by his lapels. His clothes were ragged and torn.
