EMILIA POV

I was going to kill Daemon.

Ever since the day I was transferred out of Katarina’s hold and into his, after she had told me that the death of the child I was carrying was a lie, I started to think of how to get out of the situation I was now in, and the only solution I could think of was killing Daemon.

“Get off of me!” he roared, pushing me with all of his might as I got him on the ground and bit him on the neck.

I had underestimated his strength, but that didn’t make what the textbook said about the bite of a werewolf to a vampire any less true.

“You…” He wobbled on his feet as he managed to get up, pressing a hand against his neck to cover the wound. I could tell from how profusely it was bleeding that his wound was not healing as fast as it would have.

I growled at him, poising as if getting ready to lunge at him again.
