EMILIA POV

“You can’t do that, Seth!” Katarina protested, getting off her seat and walking towards me and Lucas, pulling me out of my seat and ordering me to stand behind her for protection.

I stood there in shame, wondering if standing behind someone who had stabbed me in the back one too many times was truly something I wanted to do.

“You have to fight for your brother, too. If you let him die like this, your guilt is going to prick at you forever,” I said lowly behind her as Seth walked slowly towards us.

“Trust me, Emilia. The last thing you should be worried about is Lucas. He can hold his ground, not you.” She turned back to Seth and raised her hands in surrender as she told him, “It doesn’t have to be this way.”

“You cannot defy my orders in my pack,” he replied.
