Grace's POVI don't know what angel had sent Davis out of the house today, but I was the happiest person when he left this morning for some important business, as he told Helen.I have been searching for a way to leave with my baby girl, but the beast has been spending more time with my daughter than any other thing.I didn't wait for him to leave before I began to search for a way to leave this house without anyone finding out. For the past four days, I have been searching the in and out of the mansion. The place is so big, a dozen families can live here and no one would bother another. I was able to find different exits in the mansion thanks to Lydia, who angrily stomped towards that area two days ago. They were locked, though. It looked like it's been a very long time since they used any of these exits aside from the main door.Helen was playing with a few toys when I came to get her from her room. I watched Davis leave the mansion first and waited for the longest twenty minutes b
Grace's POVDavis was livid, I gulped down when I met his eyes. I pushed myself backward against the bed rest. How the hell did he find me? Did he put a tracker on Helen?Helen? I looked behind him to see Vincent with Helen. He carried her like his own child, carefully. You'll never suspect he use that same hands to kill.“Get up,” Davis said in a low voice. I knew he was only trying to hold it in for the sake of Helen. I'm done for. It's over. Davis would kill me, he warned me, and I didn't listen. I wouldn't have fallen asleep, I should have picked up my things and taken the next flight to anywhere with my child.“Davis, listen, I—” “Get up, Grace” His low and cold voice caused me to shiver in fear and I slowly pushed myself off the bed. He was trying to contain his anger. His eyes were staring keenly at me, watching my every move. He turned to take Helen from Vincent before marching out of the room. I followed behind without being asked to anymore. Where Helen was is where I'll
Davis's POVIt was when I handled my phone that I realized that it was Helen who had been calling me. I'm so glad I bought her a phone. My smart little girl had described the hotel her mother had taken her to through the phone. Grace just doesn't know who the fuck I am. “Daddy, Mommy said she wanted to take me to get ice cream, but she is sleeping now. I haven't seen the lady who sells the ice cream” Helen had said to me. The anger in my heart was so strong, it took Helen's voice to calm me down not to break the phone in my hand. “Where are you, Helen?” I asked, and my sweetheart described it the best way she could. And thank God, I had placed a tracker on her phone. “I'm coming, baby. I'm coming with the ice cream. Do not wake your mommy, I'm sure she is tired” “Yes, I think so too because she is sleeping” I didn't hang up the call and continued to speak with Helen until I went to the room. I released breaths I didn't know I'd been holding when I saw Helen safe and sound. I fi
Grace's POVHelen was my savior. Since I met Davis again, she has always been my savior, saving me from the ruthlessness of this man. First, it was her picture that he had seen that made him pause his actions of killing me.It has always been because of her that he had not been able to lay his hands on me. Again, from what I heard in the dining room last night, she was the reason I didn't spend the night in that dreadful place.I don't know how to thank my baby girl. I looked at her small figure as she slept beside me. I had decided to sleep in her room last night since she didn't want to sleep alone and Davis had to go out.Wasn't surprised when he planned to leave the house late at about 10 pm. I mean, the first time I met him, it was also late at night. Mafia and their illegal business can only happen at night. Davis had sat Helen down to inform her about it. The way he cared for her and showed her love was beyond me. He has never spoken calmly to me before. Not once since I came
Grace's POV The fight went on till Davis pulled me along with him, “Hey, where are you taking me? Helen!” I screamed again. She is the only one that can save me from Davis's cruelty. He hit me against the wall, “If I hear you call Helen one more time!” He snapped, and before he was done saying it, I yelled,“Helen!” “Oh, you little bitch!” He slapped the wall very close to my face and I flinched. “Davis, let her out of here!” Vincent yelled. Before I knew it, Davis pulled me into a room I never knew existed. I didn't know a lot of things existed in this mansion, though. I looked around me to find the room dusty. One would see that the room had never been used because the bed, couch, and other things were neatly covered. When I noticed there was no way out, I began to beg,“I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Davis. I won't try it again”. He ignored my plea and began to move dangerously towards me, while I took slow steps back. My eyes were already teary, I'm dead and gone.We continued our
Davis's POVI am so angry at the girl before me that I want to just tear her apart. What I don't understand is why my lips are joined with hers. Was it the shock of Helen's voice that made me want to make it look like I was kissing her mother rather than threatening her?Let's say that's the reason. Why is the kiss longer than expected? The girl reciprocated, making me lose control of myself. I don't kiss, I try not to, but with Grace, I hate to admit that I didn't want to stop. I broke the kiss gently when I heard Helen's giggle from behind me. Grace was looking at me with shocked-filled eyes while I sighed. I don't even know where to start my explanation from. Ignoring the confused look she was giving me, I turned to Helen and walked up to her. She rushed into my arms and I carried up her immediately,“I missed you so much yesterday” and I smiled,“And I miss you too. When I came back, you were already asleep in your mother's arm” and she nodded. “Did you kiss mommy?” She asked a
Grace's POVI had given Helen a two-hour bath, not like it was what I wanted to do, but I just couldn't help myself from drifting to daydreaming Davis kissed me! How dare he? What was he thinking? From time to time, Helen would pinch my hand to pull me back to reality, and she did it again.I smiled at her and took her out of the bathtub. I covered her body with a towel before taking her to her bedroom.“Mommy, will you be following us to the mall? Daddy wants to get me new shoes”. Yeah, as promised, he has to buy them. How rich was Davis?“No honey. I'll be here waiting for you to come back” I kissed her hair that I had just used the towel to clean, It was still wet, though. “Alright,” she replied, making me wonder why she wasn't pressing like usual.I brow-dry her hair with the hand dryer before wearing some new clothes. I helped her pack her dark hair that she had clearly gotten from her father before placing her on the chair. She stood on the chair looking at herself in the mi
Davis's POVThe outing with Helen was just awesome, that's the best way I can place it. Like I always say, she has a way of viewing and describing things. I wasn't sure how she was going to act without her mom, but she always surprises me. She didn't only get a collection of shoes, as we both agreed. We had moved to the clothes part of the mall. Helen had picked a lot, and I fucking thank the Lord that I had the money to pay for all of it. “Okay baby, can we leave now?” I asked Helen for the umpteenth time. And like always, she answered,“Just one more” “Fuck!” I cursed under my breath. One more has been more than ten more. Now, I'm beginning to regret why I didn't take Grace with me. At least, she'll be able to stop Helen. Not really because there was no money but because I was damn tired of walking around searching for one dress to shoe, then a jacket and even a hat! Where does she want to wear all of these to? Next time, I'll just ask Adrianna and many more guards to go with h
