Chapter 4

RAGE

They told me that they injected painkillers into my body. And I should expect that my pain will be lessened. I hate to admit that these people really treated my wounds. But not enough reason for me to trust them.

They might be planning something. The nurses told me to sleep, but I couldn't find myself comfortable in a foreign place. I feel unsafe.

The Alpha King exited my room, and who knows where he is right now. I grabbed this opportunity to escape. This is now my chance. I can't let them capture me.

I still feel the numbness of my body, but compared to earlier, I'm feeling much better now.

I scanned the surroundings.

"It's really a beautiful place..." I can't help but make a comment.

No one is around. I can still sense the securities are outside the room. But I can escape using the window.

I didn't think twice anymore, and I jumped off the window. I scanned the surroundings again.

I felt relief when no one even noticed that I had escaped from the room.

I sprinted out of this place. Even I had no idea where my feet would lead me. I kept running.

This is not my place.

I don't know these people.

They may kill me.

I trust no one.

I even have a hard time trusting myself.

The streets are clear. There is no sign of anyone or the Alpha King. As I was about to take another step, I saw a shadow in front of me.

I saw the Alpha King was cooly looking at me.

"Hi, I guess you're okay now," he greeted me.

I gritted my teeth. I thought he would stop pestering me!

How can he just smile there like I'm not a threat to his village?

But I won't surrender to him. I dash and trying my best to escape from him. He is chasing me. I did all my best to double up my speed.

I thought I already surpassed him, but I almost screamed when I saw him in front of me. "Admit it. You can never get away from me," he smiled at me.

I clenched my fist. "I told you to mind your business!"

I attacked him, but he easily dodged my attack. But I'm not giving up. I kick him, but he just stands there as if he isn't worried about my attack.

"Just give up, will you? You can't leave Greenwoods," he told me.

"And why not?! I'm not living here! You can't control me what to do!"

"It is very dangerous outside the village, and you are just on your own. Besides, I need to interrogate you and make sure that you're not our assailant,"

"I told you I'm not. I don't even know why I'm here. I just woke up. I'm already in a foreign place!" I tried to attack him again.

"Hey, calm down! Okay, I believe you. But still, you can't leave Greenwoods. Not for now,"

"Just because you're the Alpha King, you just can't command others what to do!"

"You are right. But I'm the Alpha King of the Lotus Pack, and it's my responsibility to look after my people's safety. So whether you like it or not, you'll come with me,"

I inspect the whole area. There are lots of securities around us. I sighed in defeat. I know that I can't escape from them.

"Where are you going to take me?"

To my surprise, he smiled at me. "To my house,"

Minutes later, we already arrived in a two-storey home. It is big and looks like a real home.

I gasped when I saw the big garden, a mini-pool on the side. "Ohhh... this is what they called a house," I ignorantly whispered to myself.

Unbeknownst to him, the Alpha King is observing him.

We got inside. "I'm home!"

A lady ages like the Alpha King greeted us. "Welcome home---oh, you didn't tell me we have a visitor,"

I snapped at her.

"Jas, I'll explain later. But for now, he will be living with us in the meantime. It's okay with you, right?" he asked the woman.

I gave him dagger looks. "You forced me. You aren't asking my permission to live here,"

The woman laughed in my surprise again. "I'm sorry for my husband's attitude. Let me introduce myself to you. I'm Jasmine. And I'm his wife,"

"She's the Queen Luna of this pack," the Alpha King told me.

I rolled my eyes and didn't answer. As if I'm interested to know them.

"What's for dinner today?"

"Oh, I prepared a special dinner for us. Good thing I cooked extra, just right for... what's your name?" His wife asked me.

"No need for you to know," I said in a harsh tone.

I didn't even find the two mad at my gruff attitude. "Is that so? I'm sorry. Please make yourself comfortable in our house. I'll be serving our dinner soon,"

The Alpha King looked at me. "I have extra clothes, it may be slightly bigger in your body size, but it will do,"

I didn't bother to answer him.

He looked at his wife. "Hey, Jas. What time will she be home?"

Who is "she"?

"Oh, I believed she will be here anytime soon,"

Alpha King seems to read what's on my mind. "I'm talking about my daughter. We only have one child,"

I sat on one of the chairs there. "I'm not interested,"

The couple just looked at each other and laughed.

I find them very irritating. "And what's funny?"

"Well, it's been a long time since this house became this lively and interesting. My wife and I can't help but smile. We're not making fun of you,"

I hissed. "Weird creatures," I murmured to myself.

We're in the disposition when the door widely opened. "Mom, dad! I'm home!"

I saw a woman who I believe is younger than me. She has a long black hair with straight bangs. She has fair skin, and yeah, she has an angelic face.

I almost forgot how to breathe.

"Daphne, you're on time! Dinner is ready!"

"Wow! I'm hungry!"

That's only the woman felt my presence.

She looked at me, eyes wide open.

"W-Who is he...?" she asked, almost whisper.
