Chapter 58: Protect

“Are you sure you’re okay now? We can visit them tomorrow instead,” Zachary said as he helped me get inside our car, his voice like a fire that calms my soul in the midst of a cold winter. It was enough to soothe my heart. More than enough.

“I’m okay. Let’s just go.” I smiled to assure him that I’m really fine.
