Lillian is such a meticulous person that they landed right in front of the door when they reached their destination, then without further ado, the girl opened it with a flick. Quiet. Tables and chairs shifted from their starting positions, stove ashes splattered on the floor, curtains torn, as if a windstorm ripped through the place. This warm house looked more like a haunted warehouse, there was no sound but a gust of wind.

Lillian gave a short shriek when she heard an object falling from the kitchen, then ran to check. His enthusiasm faded knowing that the sound came from a mouse that had dropped a wooden spoon. She decided to check out other rooms, starting from the parents' room, her room with Phillip, the bathroom, even the basement.
