I chuckled as I watched her scampering away from behind.

A purebred golden phoenix egg did require an immense amount of spirit power to hatch. I already had my chamber filled with spirit stones, and even Asgon had set aside his duties just to focus on incubating our phoenix egg.

As for Freya’s mixed-bred pheasant egg… the injection of an overwhelming amount of spirit power would kill the hatching.

I was eager to see the outcome.

Freya must have been convinced that I was the actual mother of the golden phoenix egg because, after that, she had the Phoenix King invest in a large amount of spirit stones.
