Chapter 17 -

Danny POV

I have always loved the beach during a storm. There is so much raw power in the crashing waves, it’s so humbling. I drove to my usual spot. It’s just a tiny path off the road down to the beach. Almost no one is ever here, just the way I like it.

I was ready to jump out of the truck the minute the keys were in my hand. “Love it!” I exclaimed as soon as the door closed.

I was excited to have a beach partner again. I usually take Biscuit on my adventures but last time the silly beast tried to catch a seagull the was flying out to sea. He jumped two small waves and sunk like a rock. Lucky for him I was close enough to drag him out before he drowned. Nope, no more water trips for him.

The trail down to the beach was steep and slippery with the wet. Davin was such a gentleman holding my hand. I smiled and said realizing, “I forgot to check the tide table but I’m sure the tide is now going out.”
