Dingo/Davin POV
I stayed with her, watching her breathe. Thinking of how to go about breaking it to her when she began to stir. I could tell she was awake by her change in breathing. I gently pulled her hair back to see the side of her face and she looked up at me. Her eyes were dazzling. The pale blue was so bright, mesmerizing. I kissed her forehead and asked, “I made breakfast, are you hungry?”
She nodded and we got up and she threw on her lounge pants and a t-shirt. We went out to the couch. The eggs and sausage were cold so I popped them in the microwave to reheat and I poured us both coffee.
When the food was ready, we sat down together and began eating. “So Beautiful, what should we do today?” I asked between bites.
Humph. Maybe I am distracting her with food. I snickered to myself. Of course, I wasn’t going to admit that to Dane.
She picked up a sausage link and nibbled on it seductively. She is a saucy little
Danny POVI have always loved the beach during a storm. There is so much raw power in the crashing waves, it’s so humbling. I drove to my usual spot. It’s just a tiny path off the road down to the beach. Almost no one is ever here, just the way I like it.I was ready to jump out of the truck the minute the keys were in my hand. “Love it!” I exclaimed as soon as the door closed.I was excited to have a beach partner again. I usually take Biscuit on my adventures but last time the silly beast tried to catch a seagull the was flying out to sea. He jumped two small waves and sunk like a rock. Lucky for him I was close enough to drag him out before he drowned. Nope, no more water trips for him.The trail down to the beach was steep and slippery with the wet. Davin was such a gentleman holding my hand. I smiled and said realizing, “I forgot to check the tide table but I’m sure the tide is now going out.”We made
Danny POV I pulled into the Calloway Inn parking lot. It looked a little intimidating from the outside with pillars and valet parking. Not the type of place I prefer. But if he’s gonna pay, I’ll do it for him. We walked in together. A second later I heard, “Ah, Dingo it’s so good to have you back again.” I guess this is his type of place after all. Davin greeted the man and introduced us. “Todd, this is Danny. Danny this is Todd. He’s an old friend of mine and manager here.” Todd was a little taller than average, a middle aged man with dark hair and a slightly pudgy face. But he was dressed impeccably, every last hair in place. Ugh, I look horrible and smell like the tide I thought myself. Oh well, I did suggest we change before we came here. I stepped up and said a friendly, “Hello.” Todd said with a smile, “Well I can’t imagine what type of trouble you’ve been up to lately; it looks like you may have nearly drowned this poor lady. Do
Dingo/Davin POV “Maybe we should save 20 questions until after we’ve both eaten.” I smiled and she calmed and smiled back. Distracting her with food again? Dane smirked. She is special and has been through a lot, do not hurt her. Wow Dane, usually I’m the one to remind you of this sort of thing. You just keep that in mind when you meet her. Then I added. You realize that still isn’t happening yet, right. I know. She makes us happy and she needs us. Don’t worry, she will like me and I will not hurt her. Dane insisted. A few minutes later we pulled into the impressive frontage of the Calloway Inn. Since it was off season, the valet was not in service. She parked in the lot and we walked in. It was nearly deserted. The Ocean River Pack owned this and several other businesses in town. The manager was a pack member and also a friend of mine. He was there within seconds of the door alarm to w
Dingo/Davin POV To my relief she didn’t argue when I took the keys from her. She just slid into the passenger seat. I had a wonderful night. Except for that terrible waitress, she’s lucky she is human. As a scout for the Counsel only the Council members themselves and Pack Alphas have rank over me. I rarely ever need to push that but I would do anything for Danny and there was no excuse for that girl’s behavior. Had she been Werewolf, I would have her punished. I got in and fired up the truck. Danny sat sideways against me. I loved the smell of her. I wrapped my arm around her as I drove back to her trailer. I loved feeling her curves and womanly softness against me. Craving her skin, I slipped my hand just beneath her shirt and ran my thumb along her side. She shook and started giggling. It was a beautiful sound. Feminine and enticing, it vibrated to the center of my being and I loved it. Just as she snuggled back into me, I did it again. “Stop, you’re tickl
Danny POV We rested for a bit, just indulging in the afterglow. I loved touching him and the sparks between us. I giggled to myself, he growled at me. That was so sexy, so primal. He was delicious, I loved his flavor both sweet and salty. When I was done, I just wanted to lay with him. Press my body to his, it was perfect. After a bit I looked up at him and asked, “So, what else shall we do today?” I smiled up at him, he was laying back with his eyes closed and the biggest smile across his face. I was feeling really proud of the effect my efforts had on him. “Davin?” I asked gently, he looked so blissful. “What do you want to do today?” I asked again. He came back to himself and smiled and kissed me. “I could do that all day.” He teased. Although, I thought to myself we should try that someday and snickered inwardly. I got up and started to get dressed. I slipped on a pair of pink undies and a pair of faded green cargo pants. I tried t
Danny POV I loved riding with him. I didn’t have to worry about anything, I could just lean into him and enjoy the world as it flew by. I loved the wind in my face and hair, feeling his strong muscles beneath me as he deftly cornered around the winding roads. We decided on a picnic lunch, he said he knew the perfect spot and so far, he hasn’t been wrong. After we got some sandwiches, we pulled off the highway and down a twisting logging road. The air was much calmer here. It still had a tinge of salt from the sea but that was now overpowered by the earthy smell of damp leaves and dirt. Most of the leaves had fallen already and there were big patches of bare branches in the canopy that let beautiful rays of sunlight pour through. I caught sight of a few deer as they bounded off deeper into the woods. Fat squirrels were gathering the last of the forest foods in preparation for winter. It was the perfect afternoon. When he stopped, we were in a small clearing that
Danny POV. My dream Slowly the forest came into focus before me. Deep greens of pine trees and bushes. I was moving swiftly over the ground. Smoothly, almost like I was flying. Once my eyes could make out more, I realized I was riding on a giant brown wolf. I could hear it huff beneath me as it ran sure footed through the forest. Behind us was the howling of wolves. Wolves angry and in pain. Why are they chasing us? I thought to myself. I leaned into my wolf and clung around his neck. His fur was warm and soft and comforting. A low growl came from the mighty beast but it didn’t scare me. If anything, it comforted me. He ran on until we came to a moonlit river. The moonlight thinned until the river was no longer bright, only a foot path over the raging water remained. We heard the wolves getting closer. We carefully edged out onto the bridge of moonlight and began walking across. About halfway across people started to emerge from the trees. They weren’
Dingo/Davin POV Without driving recklessly, I went as fast as possible to get her home. I knew she would be frozen. I felt her arms around me but the entire ride home she didn’t say a word. I wished that she could mind link. My heart was aching, I felt horrible for pushing her. I didn’t want to lose her and if she was going to walk away from us then I had to know why. How to stop her. I couldn’t lose her. As soon as the bike was parked, she got up but tripped and went sprawling. I braced the bike and ran to her; she was shaking with the cold. I picked her up and helped her inside. When I finally got her back to her room, I looked her over. Her eyes were dilated, her lips and hands were a pale blue and she was shaking. She’s in shock and way too cold. “Danalee, we need to get you warm and quickly.” I said to her urgently. She was just staring forward, shaking. I looked around, ah, there. I thought I had seen a space heater around here. I plugged it in
