Chapter seventeen

Emily's POV

After class, I go straight home with Kyle who drops me off and rushes off to meet with Anna leaving me all alone in the house.

I sigh and go upstairs to freshen up and change my clothes before coming downstairs to make myself a sandwich.

Once I'm done eating, I go back upstairs to take a nap. The sound of my phone ringing wakes me up and I pick up on the second ring to find my granny's name on the screen.

"Hey granny," I say, smiling sleepily.

"Hello sweetie,how are you?" She asks me.

"I'm fine granny,what about you?" I ask.

"I'm fine honey. How's college treating you?"She asks with concern.

"Fairly well" I tell her.

"Oh that's good, I hope lateef is looking after you properly?" She asks.

"Yes he is, he's just been busy lately. Dad said he's transferring to CSU" I tell her.

"Yes he already informed me about it, it's a good school,I'm sure he'll love it there" She tells me.

"Yeah but it's not easy for him to leave his life here in Washington Square and move back to LA." I
