“Well, well. Look who’s become a CEO. Congratulations.” Carter joined Chase and me at Paradise Ave bar on the Upper East Side.

It had officially been a week since I was introduced to Generations, our newest subsidiary, and another week since I set foot in that goddamn office. I needed to calm myself from lusting over Eloise, experiencing blue balls for a week, because I didn’t want anyone else.

I smirked, swirling the rich amber liquid in my glass. “It’s a new era. And might I remind you that no one believed Rafe would entrust it to me, including you?” I gestured toward Carter.
