As the CEO of Sebastian Pictures, I have power and authority. I was the one who called the shots, constantly in the spotlight. I was meant to be the man in charge. Until I met Eloise, she was a junior art director at my subsidiary company. She also happened to be my best friend’s ex-girlfriend. To her, I was Mr. Dangerous in a suit—her new boss. For me, she was a challenge I couldn’t resist. I was used to getting what I wanted. I craved to own her, possess her. Now, we’d gotten ourselves tangled in a game where neither of us could win. But here’s the thing: the more we played, the more she turned the tables. She had me breaking my own rules.

Very weird book. The conversation jumps around. There are too many characters appearing with no actual depth. Everyone is a red flag. I despise cheaters. Zoey is cheating on Chase with Adam. No matter how the story develops, Adam is a big NO. Then there is random bdsm shizzle making it even weirder.

Prologue
ADAMLet me give you a little glimpse into who I was so you won’t be disappointed later. I wasn’t your typical guy, especially when compared to my brothers. They were the hopeless romantics, believing in fairy tale endings and falling head over heels for every woman Cupid threw their way. But let me save you from any illusions you might have had about me.I wasn’t the prince on a white horse everyone imagined me to be. I was more of a “knight in tarnished armor.”I always knew I was different. I was naturally inclined to seek control in every aspect of my life—from my social status and wealth to my relationships and even the decisions I made. I also preferred obedient women. I took pleasure in watching them kneel before me, pleading, exploring their own wicked desires, and willing to fulfill my every command. Some may label it as odd, but I never pretended otherwise. Consider yourself warned because I could be the most spiteful guy you’d ever meet. It might have been hard to believe,

Chapter 1
ELOISEIf they gave out awards for being unlucky in relationships, I'd have a trophy case full of them. It was like I had a Ph.D. in heartbreak and a black belt in rejection.I couldn't entirely blame the guys, but if I had to place blame on something, it would have to be my issues.Jenna had set me up for a blind date at this exquisite restaurant in Midtown tonight. She told me this guy was a friend of a friend, and she'd been insistent in the past few days to the point where she was already bugging me. She had shown him my picture, and he became interested in knowing more about me. He'd already sent me flowers this morning, and I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to go so I could decline him politely face-to-face. What was his name again? I didn't even bother remembering.I finally arrived in front of the restaurant. I tucked away those unruly strands of my wavy red hair behind my ears, adding a touch of blush and lip gloss to complete the look.I paused momentarily, realizing I

Chapter 2
ELOISE“God, Eloise! What were you doing over there?” Jenna accused me incredulously and on the verge of laughing.“That was embarrassing, Jenna! Where were you? That guy out there made me a laughingstock because of you!”She burst into laughter. “Are you crazy? Did you really think I know a guy like him? I mean, just look at him,” Jenna continued to laugh.“I know, I know,” I sighed.“He’s hot. Want to go back?”“It’s not funny. Get me out of here, cover my face, do something!” I rolled my eyes.“I’m sorry. Did you seriously think it was him? Oh, God.” She cleared her throat. “By the way, this is Nick. Nick, meet Eloise.”Nick seemed decent. He had a preppy appearance—polished and youthful. He wasn’t exactly the person Jenna had described. No wonder I mistook Mr. Suit for him. But honestly, I didn’t care anymore. Nick shook my hand and started a conversation.“Pleasure to finally meet you, Eloise.”I managed a half-hearted smile. “Likewise.”We settled at our reserved table, with Jen

Chapter 3
ELOISEI woke up in the morning, fully conscious of what happened last night. Despite being wasted, I remembered Mr. Suit chauffeuring me home while Jenna played the doorman and guided me to bed.The car mix-up was embarrassing, but the real concern was how I allowed a stranger to take charge of my helpless self. I never let those kinds of situations happen to me. Who knows, I could have ended up with some psycho taking advantage of my drunken state. It was reassuring to think I wouldn't meet Mr. Suit again.Jenna was casually sipping her coffee and flipping through a magazine at the kitchen counter. She had been my housemate for a couple of years in the apartment my dad gave me. She used to work in my department until she found another job that suited her experience. But even after leaving the company, she stayed in the apartment with me. Living in such a spacious place alone could get lonely. Of course, I didn't ask her to pay for the rent, but we shared the household expenses. My

ELOISEMr. Suit looked even more stunning than last night, like a knight in shining armor with his angelic face and princely stance. My eyes hurt seeing him shining so brightly, like staring at the sun. His ocean-blue eyes were light and deep, drawing me in and making me want to be lost in them. And there was something about him, an irresistible charm that could make any woman feel butterflies in her stomach and a tingle between her legs. He was dressed in a perfectly tailored gray suit, looking sharp and clean. He had an air of formality that would make anyone think twice before accidentally bumping into him.But then, he raised an eyebrow. What the heck was he doing here in the office? And it looked like he came to see Chase. Did they know each other? How was that even possible? I’d been working at this company for a year, and I’d never seen Mr. Suit around before.Hold on. What if he came here on purpose to get back at me for what happened last night? Nah, that couldn’t be true. I

Chapter 5
ELOISE Adam said I should be at the restaurant by eight, but where was he? I scanned the place, growing more impatient as the minutes ticked by. It was already eight-fifteen, and there was no sign of him. And speaking of my new bosses, Zoey was the other managing director for marketing but didn’t come to the office. I had a feeling Chase told her about me being in the company. I knew our paths would cross again, but did it have to be like this? “Good evening, Ms. Walker,” another voice suddenly said, interrupting my thoughts. It was the maître d. “Mr. Sebastian is waiting for you, miss. Let me take you to him,” he said, showing me his usual smile like last night. “Where is he?” “If you would kindly follow me, miss.” I nodded and followed him as he led me upstairs to the restaurant’s second floor. And there was Adam, standing right by a table in the center of the room. The whole place was adorned with fancy linens, curtains, and flowers in every corner. The tables were set with

Chapter 6
ELOISE At exactly nine o’clock, Chase and Zoey arrived. Chase had changed into a tailored gray pinstriped suit, looking as painfully handsome as ever. Zoey clung to his arm, radiating a newfound beauty. Her silky blonde hair was shorter, and I admit it made her even more classy. She wore an exquisite Louboutin baby pink floral dress and a pair of designer stilettos that emphasized her ass even more. Her eyes widened upon seeing me, and a playful smile danced on her lips. “Oh my God.” Her gaze scanned me from head to toe. “So it’s true. Chase did find you.” Found me? I scoffed. As if he even tried. I mustered a sarcastic smile. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” She chuckled mockingly. “How could I forget?” “Zoey,” Chase cautioned. “Alright, guys, have a seat.” Adam motioned for them to join us. Chase sat across from us, looking uncomfortable and fidgeting. He kept staring at me, but I avoided his gaze. “I didn’t know you knew Eloise, Adam. How did that happen? Care to tell us?”

Chapter 7
ELOISE “And let me assure you, I always get what I want,” Adam said, evading a direct answer when I had every reason to question him. “You’re being too egotistical, don’t you think?” “Come. We’ll continue this discussion tomorrow. I’ll drive you home.” Adam dropped me off in front of my apartment building, his familiarity with my address not escaping my notice. The question still lingered when he left: Why couldn’t I resist him? I wasted no time as soon as I reached my door. I pulled out my phone and Googled his name. With Jenna out for the night, I had the place all to myself. Perfect for satisfying my curiosity about him. My screen was immediately filled with pictures and articles. He was often spotted in the company of celebrities and influential individuals like politicians and businesspeople. However, there was a common thread among all the women he was seen with—they were all redheads. Like me. It was strange, considering my wild, untamed red hair, which never seemed t

ELOISE Despite my doubts, I had no choice but to play along. Once inside the elevator, I removed the coat from my head and confronted them. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” “We’re saving you, obviously,” Chase snapped. “And those people won’t stop until they get their answers,” Zoey said, folding her arms. “Why are you doing this?” I asked skeptically. “Last time I checked, we weren’t exactly friends.” She smirked. “Listen up, sweetheart. This is the mess you signed up for. Be grateful we showed up on time. But don’t get it wrong, though. We didn’t do this for you,” she said. Of course not. She did it for Adam because she was still fucking him. I wasn’t blind. “I didn’t ask for your help anyway.” “You’re still so naïve,” she remarked. “You know nothing about Adam. Do you think he really likes you? No. You’re just another one of his—” “Stop it, Zoey. Goddammit!” Chase yelled, his voice echoing in the elevator. “Please.” “Don’t yell at me. How is this my fault?” She

Chapter 9
ELOISE We walked past the busy employees in the hallway, trying not to draw too much attention because of Adam’s commanding presence. It felt utterly ridiculous. Then we reached the elevator and stepped inside with three other people looking our way. We descended to the parking level, and I sandwiched myself in the back row. And there it was, his new car, a shiny black Rolls Royce, parked next to my Aston Martin, turning the parking area into a display of luxurious sports cars. “Is that new?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “I couldn’t risk someone throwing up on my window again,” he joked, opening the passenger door. “Get in.” I hesitated for a moment. “Where are we going? It’s my lunch break.” He flashed a mischievous smile. “Then you’ll eat your lunch. Get in,” he repeated, gesturing for me to enter the car. Adam took his place behind the wheel and began navigating his way out of the building. A fact crossed my mind when we hit the road. “Ms. Craig mentioned earlier you’re pl
