Chapter Four
Lila' POV
“I guess you remember.” Kyler smirked and even let out a sexy chuckle.
Fuck! Did I just have sex with—!
Oh no!
Kyler King! The CEO of King’s Harmony Hotel! The largest and number one hotel chain in all of New York! Kyler King—fuck!
“Stop making that face like you regretted what we’ve done, Lila.”
I hid my face in my hands to hide the redness of my face. I fucked the wealthiest man in New York!
I did meet him two years ago before I got married to Taylor. The company I was working with before I got married handled the interior design of King’s hotel branch in Manhattan, and I met him during every meeting.
“This is so embarrassing…” I whispered to myself.
“Hey.” He took my hand and held my wrist, uncovering my face so that he could look at me. “We’re grown-ups. You shouldn’t be embarrassed.”
Oh, really? Will you still say the same if I told you I’m married?!
“Or was it my reputation?” he continued.
I furrowed my brow. “What reputation?”
“Oh.” He chuckled. “Never mind.”
I knew the CEO of King HH was a notorious playboy, staying as a bachelor, afraid of commitment, with a harem of his own, the best in bed, and, well, those are just rumors.
Though one thing I proved right now was that he really is good in bed. I’ve just had a taste of it!
I feel like the atmosphere has become awkward with us talking lightly while naked, but my shameful side still hasn’t decreased from its heightened level.
“This is weird,” he muttered under his breath as he had his palm over his eyes.
“W-What is?”
He peeked through his fingers and smiled at me.
Oh my. Is it just me, or was his smile… I’m not sure, sad?
“I feel like I’ve been used by you.” He grinned widely. “Lover’s quarrel, right? Is your man lacking so you looked for… should I call myself your bedwarmer now? It’s okay. You can tell me, I’m cool with it.”
My cheeks flushed again as I felt a sour feeling in my stomach. Kyler laughed hard upon seeing my reaction, and I covered my face with the blanket.
How blunt can he be? Can I tell him I’m cheating on my husband, and yes, I kind of used him to feel guilty, too? Or to get even?
Do I even feel any guilt? Because I can’t find it in me.
“N-No, it’s not like that,” I lied.
I felt an arm placed above my stomach, and my breath hitched as I stiffened from the heat his skin sent. Even with the covers, I could feel how his sex pheromones spread straight through me.
“I never forget you though.”
I started breathing heavily when I heard his voice. He sounded so near, like his lips were just on my ear.
But wait, what did he say?
But wait, what did he say?
“...but you don’t even remembered who I am when I approached you last night at the bar. Ohh, that hurts.”
He chuckled and I felt his chest vibrated on my shoulders.
Curious with how close he was and what he was saying, I decided to slowly pull the sheets down, only to find two mesmerizing eyes looking back at me.
“Hmm? I think I deserved an explanation.” he chuckled.
I hugged the blanket near to my neck. “I was just d-drunk…”
He raised a brow at me. “Drunk, huh?”
“Yeah, and its dark at the bar.” I continued to explain. But the truth was, my head is not in its usual senses that I didn’t noticed I was talking with a high profile person.
Sigh. What did I do…
“Blurry vision, hmm, my ego can accept that.” he grinned and I flushed more.
I figured I’ve been talking lightly with him and upon realizing, it made me go back to being embarrassed.
“Uh, I should go. This shouldn’t have happened, let’s uh, just forget what happened.”
I gathered myself, covered in the blanket and sat up. But the moment I pulled myself up, Kyler held me by the waist, burying his head on my side.
“You said you are married, but you end up in my bed. There’s no way I’ll forget last night.”
Kyler grabbed my waist flat on my back to the bed, hovering above me and I held my gasps when I was once again met by those eyes.
Those fucking eyes.
I can’t even remember I’ve said I am married, fucking alcohol. Was he trying to test me earlier then?
“You’re a bad wife, hmm.” he chuckled.
I blushed but not entirely from the shame, this time its mixed with anger. I know he was teasing me but I take it personally. I’m sensitive right now because of my unbalanced mental health!
My eyes squinted and the side of my lips went up to a sarcastic smirk.
“And you fucked a married woman. Doesn’t that made you the worst?”
I thought he will be caught off guard by my outrage but he didn’t. Instead, he mirrored the same expression I have. Smirking too, but his eyes are more softer, gentler.
What game is this man playing?
“You’ll see my worse when I stole you from your husband.”
Steal me? This man is spouting nonsense. I don’t even know how to decide on whether what I should do with Taylor.
“This is crazy. Let me go. I’m going home!”
I started to struggle beneath him but Kyler held both my wrist up on my head, claiming my lips to his.
I groaned when I felt him bit my lower lip hungrily. Fuck! I shouldn’t like what he was doing but damn, he kissed so good!
He left my lips swollen and red after a mind-blowing kiss and his lips travelled down to my neck, roughly tasting my skin and his tongue licked to my ears.
I can’t resist him. I’m liking the way he makes me feel and I can’t stop him.
“You’re not going anywhere. I’m not done with you yet.” he nibbled on my ear and cupped my breast, making me arch my back as I felt electrocuted by his touch.
Chapter FortyChapter 40It was late afternoon and the sun has yet to set when Kyler took me in the highest part of the city. I watched him with awe, wondering what was on his mind as he look around, waiting for the sun to finally give us a view that would took our breath away.“Okay, tell me,” I said after watching him a few more times. He looked at me and frowned but there was also a hint of smile on his face. “What?”“You keep looking around like someone might snatch your wallet, Kyler.” I sighed. “What’s wrong?”He chuckled, a nervous energy lingering in the air. “Nothing’s wrong, Lila. It's just a habit, I guess. You know, always checking my surroundings. Business instincts, I suppose.”I raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk formin
Chapter Thirty-NineChapter 39The next day, I woke up with Kyler's hands wrapped around my waist. The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. For a moment, I lay still, relishing the comforting embrace and the sense of security that Kyler's presence brought. As I shifted slightly, his grip tightened, and he stirred awake. His eyes, still heavy with sleep, met mine. A lazy smile played on his lips, and he pressed a gentle kiss on my forehead."Good morning," he murmured, his voice husky with sleep."Good morning," I replied, a contented smile forming on my lips.Kyler's lips curled into a mischievous grin as he traced circles on my waist. "Yep, really. No business meetings, no urgent calls. Just you and me, and whatever the day brings."The prospect of a day fr
Chapter Thirty-EightChapter 38Kyler’s hands gripped tight on my waist as I straddled his lap, my legs entwined around him for better access to the kiss. Our connection deepened, the world around us fading as the intensity of the moment enveloped us.His lips moved with a hunger that mirrored my own, a dance of passion that temporarily pushed aside the shadows of the past.“You should really divorce your husband if you’re kissing me like this.” he managed to tease in between our kisses, then his lips travelled down my throat.I moaned when he nibbled on my skin. “You already made sure that will happen,” my voice were weak, helpless against his moving lips. His hand on my waist travelled down to my leg, finding its way in my inner thigh with its goal to reach my cove. I moaned from the anti
Chapter Thirty-SevenChapter 37“How did you get my number?” I said as I tried my best not to stutter and thanking God I didn’t!“I have my ways.” he replied in a bored tone. Then his voice turned low and husky when he said, “I always have my ways to have you, Lila.”The hairs on my nape raised from fear. I’m under Kyler’s protection, right? Taylor couldn’t hurt me, he wouldn’t get near me. He just won’t.Though I feel like I was just convincing myself but I repeated the words over and over my head, trying to gain strength from it.“You can’t have me this time.” I gritted my teeth. There was a pause in his line and I was fighting with myself in whether I need to turn off the call or stay and listen. Before the first
Chapter Thirty-SixChapter 36I ended up sipping my latte at Kyler's penthouse. Alone. The creamy warmth of the coffee did little to soothe the storm of thoughts swirling in my head. Why would Ellanie follow me here just to taunt me?I gazed out of the floor-to-ceiling windows, the cityscape stretched before me like a canvas painted with the hues of a fading sunset. The quietude of the penthouse seemed louder now, each tick of the clock resonating with the unanswered questions in my mind.I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched, as if invisible eyes bore into my every move. The idea of Ellanie's lurking presence unsettled me. Why this game? Why torment me in the sanctuary of Kyler's space? The familiar scent of Kyler's cologne lingered in the air, a bittersweet reminder of the tender kiss we shared before he left. The juxtaposition of h
Chapter Thirty-FiveChapter 35"What are you up to, today?" I asked after taking a shower. I saw Kyler wearing his suit, a departure from his usual casual wear. "Business?"Kyler smiled at me, his eyes holding a mixture of determination and a hint of something I couldn't quite place. "I just have two meetings downtown, and I'll be home before noon."I pursed my lips, a subtle unease settling in my stomach. "Okay." I glanced around his penthouse, and the silence seemed to amplify my sense of solitude. I didn't relish the idea of staying here alone while he was away. "Can I go out?""Sure. What do you have in mind?""I noticed the bookstore nearby when we passed by it last night. I want to check out some architectural books."Kyler considered it for a few seconds before nodding his head. "Alright. Is it oka
