"Fuck me!" I swore, resisting the urge to facepalm, when Nicholas started advancing towards me. I debated in my mind between walking away along the shore or going back to his brother's vehicle. Robert wasn't so bad after all; in fact, he and I were quickly becoming friends. He had slipped his car keys beneath my bedroom door when I stayed locked up inside, without the knowledge of my mother. He said I was free to go for a drive, go shopping, or do whatever I wanted as long as I got some fresh air.

"Came here hoping to see me?" His voice drifted into my ears despite the light wind.

Brushing some loose strands of hair from my face, I answered in a bored tone, "I thought I told you not to come anywhere close to me."

"That is unlikely given the fact that you're on my property, or do you want to tell me you didn't see the warning sign to stay away in the entryway?" he responded, making me whip my head so fast in his direction. I thought he had rented the cabin the first time I saw h
