Chapter 2: The Fall of Octavia Beacham

Octavia’s POV

Four weeks had passed. Just four weeks. It was astonishing how quickly a person's entire world could fall apart.

Sarah had kept every promise she made that night and more… Night after night, I woke up to Jake fucking my sister, and during the day, they went about their lives as though nothing had happened.

I got tired of crying. Sarah didn't need to hit me. She didn't need to threaten me. Her words alone were enough to make me feel smaller with each passing day.

“Octavia!" Sarah's voice echoed through the mansion.

My fingers froze around the cup of tea I was holding. She was calling me again.

"Did you suddenly become deaf?" she shouted. My heart pounded. Every beat filled me with dread over what humiliation awaited me this time.

I quickly set the cup down and hurried downstairs.

Sarah was sitting comfortably on the living room sofa and scrolling on her phone. Jake sat beside her, his attention fixed on the television.

Neither of them looked surprised to see me.

"Finally," Sarah said lazily. "I was beginning to think I'd have to come drag you down myself." I lowered my face.

She pointed toward a pile of clothes on the couch. "I need you to do my laundry." I turned and stared at the clothes for a second, confusion pulling at me.

We already have enough servants in the house for that. Why does it have to be me? The old me would have reminded her that this wasn't my responsibility. The old me would've shunned her.

Instead… my fingers trembled. My knees became weak. "I…" The words caught in my throat.

Sarah tilted her head… "Was my instruction unclear? I hate to repeat myself" Her eyes went dark. A tremor ran through my legs. Suddenly, I had lost my voice. I bent and picked up the clothes.

As I turned away, Jake watched me. For one brief moment, guilt flashed across his face. Then he looked away. The man who once made me feel loved now watched me disappear piece by piece. And he did nothing.

The laundry basket felt heavier than it should have. Maybe it wasn't the weight of the clothes.

Maybe it was the weight of what I had become. Every day was the same, Sarah called; I obeyed. She mocked me; I stayed silent.

Every smile she gave me carried another humiliation.

And somewhere, along the line… I started seeing myself through her eyes. I started believing I truly was beneath her. And that frightened me more than anything.

Later that afternoon, my phone buzzed, a new notification. Someone had tagged me on T*****r. I hesitated before opening it.

I shouldn't have, but I did. A picture of me filled the screen. Someone had edited it into a cruel joke; the face of a pig was attached to my body.

The comments were worse: "The billionaire pig." "Poor Jake… he deserves better." "Money can't buy beauty."

I saw a comment calling me a wealthy pig, and it got over twenty thousand likes. The numbers kept climbing…

Thousands of laughing reactions. Thousands of strangers discussing my body… My marriage… My worth.

My hands began to tremble. I locked the screen. A second later, another notification lit up the screen.

Frustration kicked in, and I switched off the phone completely.

I couldn't remember the last time I had stepped out in a public place. I couldn't remember the last time I had answered a friend's call. Then again... Sarah had made sure I had no friends left to call.

I couldn't even remember the last time I looked at myself in the mirror without feeling disgusted.

Being the first daughter of one of the richest families in Valdoria no longer meant anything.

I'd trade every coin my family owned just to walk down a street without wondering if people were laughing behind my back.

But by the end of those four weeks, I no longer recognized the woman staring back at me in the mirror. I had become a shadow of myself, exhausted, Sarah's slave, and a victim of my low self-esteem.

At around 9pm… Sarah and Jake had gone out to party. Sarah was beginning to look more like Jake's wife than I did.

I was home alone. Sitting on the bed, my tears slipped onto my lips as I gulped down the second glass of my favourite wine.

I could barely tell the difference between the taste of wine and my tears. Every time I closed my eyes I saw Sarah. She had become my nightmare.

After the third glass, I felt my vision going blurry… I started seeing everything in twos, and then threes… then fours.

Then confusion hit me. “Am I drunk? Why do I feel this way?” I asked myself. My body was slowly losing its natural response.

“No way. That's not possible. The wine was supposed to be non-alcoholic. I knew something was wrong.

I quickly wiped my eyes, but it was getting worse. My breathing became ragged. Panic took over and I rose up from the bed. Immediately, I felt a sting between my legs, like an itch, a sweet itch.

My hand reached in response to my body, and the moment I touched my clitoris, a wave of electricity swept through me.

I moaned. What's happening to me?

My hands found my boobs and began to caress them, but it wasn't enough to quench the flame building inside me. I was suddenly aroused.

I looked at the drink with unfocused eyes. There's no way this can be the effect of this non-alcoholic wine. My brows furrowed… did someone tamper with my wine?

The urge was growing stronger and stronger, until I lost control. I lay on the bed; fingering my wet cunt and moaning at the pleasure.

My mind was in shambles as I submitted myself to self pleasure. But it wasn't enough.

My body ached for more. Just then, I saw a shadow approaching from the door. A face I couldn't recognize. I was too weak to stand, it felt like my strength was being drained. I looked anyway, and I saw a huge black figure standing over me.

He was naked. His tool danced between his legs. Bigger than any I had ever seen. I gasped.

This must be my imaginary scene. But that'll do. He came at me, and without consent, he claimed my lips, igniting the fire burning inside me.

Heat spread through every nerve in my body… I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. He pinned my hands above my head, and my legs spread wide, inviting him in.

Then, his weight pressed between my thighs. Finally, his tool entered me with one relentless motion. A moan escaped my lips. I tried to speak as tears soaked my eyes, but my voice betrayed me.

He claimed me. Every thrust was a message, a declaration. My vision blurred until the room itself melted away and he took total control of my body.

His tool filled me as I moaned beneath him. He took me in ways Jake had never done. The night became an endless circle of my moans and screams and the lustful sound of our thighs colliding…

Hours later, a sharp ache throbbed behind my eyes. I frowned and slowly opened them. The morning sunlight spilled through the curtains and stung my vision.

My head felt impossibly heavy.

"...What happened?" The words barely escaped my lips.

Slowly, my vision cleared, and I realized I wasn't alone…

Sarah stood at the foot of the bed with her arms folded across her chest, her face was masked with satisfaction. Beside her was Jake. Neither of them spoke.

They simply stared at me. As though I were something filthy. My heartbeat quickened.

"Why are you both looking at me like that?" I asked in a low voice.

Silence.

Confused, I pushed myself upright, only to feel the blanket slide down my body.

I froze. I wasn't wearing any clothes.

"W-What..." Panic surged through me. My gaze drifted to the other side of the bed, and my eyes fell on a man asleep beside me; one of the estate's security guards.

For a split second, my mind went completely blank. Then horror crashed over me.

"No..."

I scrambled backward until my back struck the headboard.

"No... No, no, no!" A scream tore from my throat. I looked back at Sarah and Jake as fear settled in my nerves… "What happened? I don't... I don't remember any of this, I swear!"

The guard stirred awake, equally startled, looking around in confusion.

But before anyone could speak, the door swung open. Heavy footsteps echoed across the floor.

My mother entered first. My father followed close behind, travel bags still in the hands of the staff behind them.

They had only just returned from their holiday. But why now? Why this moment? Why am I always this unfortunate?

A shallow gasp tore from my throat the moment they looked toward the bed.

Both of them stopped in their tracks, and I watched as my mother's gentle smile began to fade until all that was left was shock and disbelief. The room fell into a suffocating silence.

My mother's face was drained of color. My father's expression hardened into cold fury. His gaze shifted from me... to the man lying beside me.

I clutched the blanket tight around my trembling body as tears blurred my vision.

"Dad... Mom..." My voice broke. "I…I don't know what happened. I didn't do anything, I swear.”

She waited for something to happen inside her… Relief, perhaps, or maybe satisfaction. But the feelings came tangled together, too complicated to separate. There was anger still burning beneath her ribs. There was exhaustion, heavy in her limbs. There was the strange, distant awareness that she had crossed a line she could never uncross. And beneath all of it was the knowledge of what she had done… She had done the impossible. She had beaten Krul to his death, the personal guard of Red Dragon himself, lying flat on her feet, beaten to a pulp. Not only that, but she had faced him with courage, after all that humiliation, and she had beaten him before an audience large enough to carry the story to every corner of the world. In no time, the world will know of Octavia Beacham. His fist came swinging in a wide, desperate arc; every ounce of his remaining strength was behind it.Octavia saw his intention before he even made the move. He was strong, large, but very predictable. She saw the opening. Her left foot pushed forward, and her right foot slid to the left, bringing her outside his strike zone. She had measured the length of his arm and calculated her distance. Her math was accurate; his punch missed. And now, he was exposed to a countermove. Octavia didn't hesitate. She drove her weight into a punch aimed at his upper arm.The sound was unmistakable… A sharp, ugly crack cut through the noise… Like bone breaking.Krul screamed. His arm dropped uselessly to his side, his eyes filled with disbelief and agony as he stared at his arm. Her punch was heavy, making a bone to shift. His expression was empty with shock, as though his mind had refused to accept what his body just confirmed.Octavia didn't wait for him to recover. While his fingers twitched. He

Krul turned slowly. For the first time, he looked at her without smiling. The crowd erupted…Cheers poured down from the stands, loud enough to drown out the first insult Krul hurled at her. A section near the eastern side began stamping their feet against the stone, creating a thunderous rhythm beneath the shouting.Octavia barely heard any of it. She didn't pay attention to that. Her gaze was fixated on her opponent. She watched Krul's face like a predator studying its prey before the attack.Surprise had widened his eyes. Beneath it, something more uncomfortable had begun to emerge. He didn't expect her to move that quickly. He didn't expect her to be a threat.Slowly, something was building inside him, like a realization, that Octavia was stronger than she had made the world believe all these while. But he refused to let that thought sit and settle."Come on, then, fat girl!" he snarled. His fists clenched. Eyes burning with rage. If eyes could turn to a dagger, she would be dead

The arena was a bowl of sound. Over nine hundred voices rose from the stone stands, colliding beneath the open sky until the noise seemed to shake the very ground beneath Octavia's feet. People crowded every tier, shoulder to shoulder, their faces turned toward the fighting floor. Some waved pieces of cloth above their heads. Others leaned over the railings, shouting predictions, insults, and wagers to anyone willing to listen. The smell reached her before she had fully taken in the crowd: sweat, dust, hot stone. Food being sold along the upper walkways. Torches burned along the arena's upper rim despite the daylight. It made the environment feel ancient. Within the walls, one would imagine a century-old Roman city.Banners hung from the highest balconies, snapping whenever the wind caught them. Sunlight poured into the open arena, and Octavia stood alone in the center of it all. Hundreds of people gathered above, watching her, cheering chats of joy and support. She had stood bef

Nobody volunteered an answer immediately.Krul was the first to speak. His explanation came quickly, fuelled by the anger he was yet to shed. Octavia had challenged him; a fight to the death. He had accepted with confidence, knowing she wasn't on his level when it comes to combat and intelligence. When he spoke to Red Dragon, he made it sound as though the entire affair had been her idea and his participation was just a generous concession.Red Dragon listened without interrupting. And when Krul finished, he turned fully toward Octavia."Have you lost your damn mind?"She held his gaze."You think you stand a chance against him?" he demanded. There was genuine disbelief in his voice, but something else sat beneath it. Irritation, perhaps. Or the assumption that she had once again done something reckless without considering how it might inconvenience him.Octavia could have explained herself as usual. But things are different now. And he was just as guilty as Krul. She didn't tell h

Octavia placed one hand against the ground. She rose slowly, allowing herself a moment to find her balance. The movement pulled at her bruised hip, and she felt the pain travel down her leg. She waited until it settled enough for her to stand properly. Then she brushed her clothes as if wiping off dirt.Krul watched her, his smile wider than before. He was waiting for the familiar signs of defeat. He wanted to see her embarrassed. He wanted her to lower her eyes, to acknowledge that he had put her in her place. But she gave him none of it. She denied him that satisfaction he craved so much.Octavia looked at him for one more second before turning away. He scoffed, wondering what she was up to, as she walked to the weapons rack. The men behind Krul quieted slightly, their attention following her as she passed the training equipment. The rack stood near the edge of the field, its wooden frame weathered by years of use. Practice swords hung from one side, alongside staffs and other tra
