Chapter 73

"Nadia?" Knox asks from behind me. I can hear his worry, and I can feel his fear envelop me. He does not want me getting any closer to this thing than I already am. But I can't just sit here and do nothing. After all, they sent me here for a reason.

"I'll be okay, Knox. This is why they sent me," I say looking at him with a sad smile over my shoulder. I have to do this, whether or not I feel inadequate to do the job. They deserve to be saved. I know I can fix this. I can feel it deep down, and I can feel their pleading with me to set them free from their bonds. I can't just ignore that just because I'm scared.
