Chapter Ten

We sat there talking for a little while, trying to figure a plan out, but we were getting nowhere, fast. I heard chatting coming from outside and then approaching footsteps.

‘Shit, they’re coming back!’. Peyton told me, panicking like I hadn’t already figured that out myself. I told her to calm down and looked around for something I could use as a weapon, but I couldn’t see anything. Typical. I just grabbed Peyton and pulled her to me, sitting up slightly. The door opened and in they walked.

‘Oh, you’re awake’. One of them spoke, we just stayed silent. They took afew steps closer and we tried to shimmy away. They instantly stopped when they saw it and stayed where they were.

‘I’m Michael’. I just looked at him. Was this another mind game?

‘I’m Luke’. My eyes flipped back and forth between the two.
