Julia's POVI awoke the next morning, feeling more rested. As soon as I open my eyes, I find Liam watching me.I stretch and smile at him. "Were you watching me sleep?" I ask."Yes." He said, returning my smile. "I love watching you."My smile broaden at his comment. I then look over at the table near the window. It was laden with get-well cards and flowers. I saw them yesterday, but was too tired to really look at them.Liam follows my line of sight and looks at the flowers as well. "A lot of your friends visited and brought those." He explains. He then points at a bunch of purple flowers. "Those are from me.""There are all beautiful." I said quietly. He then gestures to the room. "And this room that you are in, is courtesy of my dad. He paid to have you moved into this comfortable room with everything you need."My eyes widen. "Your dad paid for this room?" He nods. "Wow...I guessed I really missed a lot." I didn't know that he was talking to his dad again."Yeah. He came yesterday
"Is Liam going to the prom with you on Friday?" Bethany asks me as we walk to our mathematics class.I shrug. "I don't think so. Dances are not his scene. He told me that before.""Oh okay." Beth said."If he doesn't want to go, I understand. I'm not going to hold that against him. I'm still going to go to prom and enjoy myself." I said, smiling at her.She grins back. "Oh yes and remember that you are a prom queen nominee." She said in a singsong voice.I groan when she said that. I didn't really care for prom queen, but Jasmine had nominated me when I was in the hospital. I didn't even know. I was shocked when I heard my name being called over the intercom as a prom queen nominee last month. I didn't even campaign because I didn't care to win. After a while Jasmine adds. "By the way, I snuck in and saw the work you guys did on the decorations. I like it." She compliments."Yes it is." I said smiling in reminiscence at the work we had done.A month back, I had went to help Simone wit
"Have you changed your mind about going to the party tomorrow night, Julie?" Beth asked."I don't know as yet." I said taking a bite of my Nutella sandwich. "Maybe."Beth sighs. "Please say yes. I can't go alone."Bethany Davis and I were currently in the cafeteria having our lunch. I really did not want to go the party, but I did not want to let my best friend down.I look at her and sigh heavily "Okay, I will go.""Thank you, thank you, thank you." She chants and I shake my head at her enthusiasm.Through the corner of my eyes, I saw Liam Black enters the cafeteria and went to buy his lunch. After buying his lunch, he went and sit at the far corner of the cafeteria by himself.Liam was always sitting by himself and he doesn't talk to anyone. I don't know, but the mysterious aura around him makes him a little intriguing. He didn't keep friends and no one took any interest in him. They just avoid him all together. He was good looking though, with his messy black hair and deep blue eye
"Oh my God! You look beautiful!" Screamed Beth.We were in my room getting ready for the party. It took three hours to get dressed and apply our makeup. And now we were both done and was looking at ourselves in the mirror. My long brown hair was curled and came down in waves down my shoulders. I had on light makeup of mascara and pink lipstick. I was in a white tank top with flowers on it and a black skinny jeans. I wore a white slippers on my feet.I have to admit, I looked amazing. "Yes, I know. You too."She smiles and looks at herself. She was wearing a red tank top blouse and black jeans. Her black hair was also curled and loose around her shoulders. She smiled "Yeah, but you are going to knock Nate off his feet."I roll my eyes. "I don't know about that."It was now 7pm and Nate was going to be here any minute."I have to go, my ride is going to be here any minute." Beth said excitedly.Oh! Did I mention she has a boyfriend? She does and she is head over heels in love with him.
After the party on Friday, the weekend was uneventful. Beth came over on Saturday worried, wondering why I left the party. I told her what had happened and she was furious. She couldn't believe what Nate wanted to do. I agreed with her. I couldn't believe that was the reason he asked me to the party. It was now Monday and I was getting ready for school. I went downstairs to the smell of bacon and pancakes. My mom was in the kitchen. She smiles when she saw me."Morning honey." She greets."Morning Mom." I said. I went over to the table and sat down. She brought a plate of pancakes and bacon to me. I ate as quickly as possible as I did not want to be late for school. After I finished eating, I went back upstairs to brush my teeth. I came back downstairs and kiss my mom on the cheek."Bye Mom, love you." I said."I love you too, sweetie. Do you want a ride to school?" She asks."That's okay, I will take the bus." I reassure her."Okay, if you insist. Be careful." She said."I will." I s
The next day at school, I was heading to my locker to change my books for second period, when I saw Nate leaning against my locker. I went up to him. "Move out of my way." I demand. I was getting tired of his behaviour now. "Why don't you make me, bitch." He returns smirking. "I know you want to get your hands all over my body.""I would rather stick my fingers in a blender that is turned on!" I hiss angrily."Come on babe, that wasn't the reaction I was getting at the party when you could not keep your hands off me." He said aloud for everyone to hear. By this time, people stop doing what they were doing and stare at the both of us."You were the one that had your hands all over me at the party, remember? Sorry to get your ego deflated, but unlike all the other girls that is dying for your attention, I would rather not see you or talk to you." I said. I watch as his eyes turns cold and he looks at me angrily. He made a step towards me, but I back up."Get away from her, you jerk."
Two days has passed since my visits to Liam's and he was back to being the cold, emotionless boy at the back of the class. We have worked on our project in those days and we have finished it. It was hard to imagine us swimming together only two days ago. Well, we didn't exactly swim together, because he just stood there.I would talk to him, but he would withdraw and placed those hard to break walls around him. Some of the times he looked really sad, but I never question him about it, figuring he needed his personal space. People would give me weird looks wondering why I was talking to Liam and I would hear people whispering in the hallways, but I didn't care because I really liked Liam and I think he could use a friend. Right now I was in math class with Beth working out problems on the sheet of paper that our teacher gave us. Beth calls my name and I look over to my left at her."Are you going to the school dance next week Friday?" She whispers."I totally forgot about that. But y
"Hey, what are you still doing at school?" I asked as I sat on the grass beside Liam. He turned to look at me, then back in front of him.He sighed, "Do you ever give up?""No, can't say I have." I shrugged."Well you should. There is a first time for everything." He said."Why do you push people away, Liam?" I asked. He looked out into space and continues to ignore me. We sat there in silence for two minutes before he spoke."Look, is it Julia?" I nod and he continues. "Why do you keep talking to me? Normally, when I tell someone to get lost, they don't bother me again.""I don't know. I just think that you could use a friend." I replied. Plus, I was way yo nice for my own good."Well don't bother." He said quietly.I decided to change the subject. "I didn't see you in art class today.""I hate art. I'm no good at it." He said simply. I was surprised he actually answered my question."Art is optional." I stated confused. "If you hate it, why do it?" He turned to look at me then and o
