Still A Trainee

Larisa walked into the training grounds, her hair packed into a tight bun. She was wearing a black on black attire and she looked beautiful and smart to say the least.

Her blue eyes looked around the training grounds and wavered as soon as it landed on one of the trainers, Kimberly.

"Kimberly is now a trainer?" She mumbled and bit down on her lips.

It was a new session for the trainees. The previous set trainees had left and although she had been among the previous set of trainees, she could not leave.

For seven years, she had been a trainee. Every wolf without a wolf side spent a year as an official trainee and the unlucky ones spent two years as a trainee.

They had to spend a year learning basic fighting skills and as soon as they got their wolf side, they would be getting ready to leave the training field for another level of training, a training that involved the freshly shifted wolves.

But Larisa had spent seven years as a trainee. She was supposed to find her wolf side at age 18 and graduate from being a trainee but she was 25 now and here she was, still training.

Larisa hated it, having to train with the other seventeen year olds but she had no choice. It was something she had to keep on doing until she shifted.

Some of the trainers were her age mate and would use every available opportunity to talk about how failed she was for being a trainee for seven years.

It hurt Larisa, a whole lot and a lot of times, she would absolutely lose hope in finding her wolf side. But the talks, the bullying from the others made her determined to get her wolf side and it wasn't going to be just any wolf side, it was going to be one really strong and powerful.

She wanted a wolf side that would let her rise above the gossiping and the bullying.

"You are here again, Larisa" One of the trainers chuckled, glancing at her with mockingly.

It was Kimberly, she was the old beta's daughter and a trainee in the second year Larisa had trained.

"Why don't you just give up? Take at look at the other trainees, they are kids. You are the oldest amongst them. Why don't you just give up and stay home? You are never going to get your wolf side, not to talk of joining the wolf trainees" Kimberly mocked.

Larisa gulped down and forced a smile out of her thinned lips.

"Soon, I will get my wolf side soon" she replied in between gritted teeth.

"You told me that six years ago" Kimberly grinned and Larisa felt like wiping that grin off her face.

But the only way to do that effectively would be to shift.

"Alright, alright. I can't do anything to get you out of here anyways" Kimberly groaned and sighed.

"Go and join the others" she pointed at the other trainees warming up.

Kimberly responded with a nod and almost turned to leave before Kimberly grabbed her arm.

"Seems like you are forgetting who is the boss, Larisa. You do not respond to me with a nod. You say 'yes ma'am' or 'yes trainer'." Her grip on Larisa's arm got tighter, so tight that it hurt.

Larisa knew Kimberly was using her wolf strength. Larisa didn't want to say those words. She knew Kimberly was doing this, just to humiliate her.

"You are not going to say it?" Kimberly asked and Larisa gasped as she felt her claws pushing into her skin. Kimberly grinned at her.

"A... Alright ma'am" Larisa let the words out of her gritted teeth and Kimberly let go of her.

"Perfect" she grinned and walked away, flipping her hair backwards.

Larisa turned away and her face scrunched up into a look of hurt.

She glanced at her arm where she had just been gripped and she could see a small amount of blood oozing out of it.

"This... This will be over someday" she whispered to herself, holding back the tears that threatened to fall.

"This is not the first time you are going through this, Larisa. Do not be emotional" she said to herself as she walked over to where the other trainees were.

She was the oldest amongst them, like it had been for the past few years.

"Doesn't she get tired? She was a trainee when my elder brother was one too and now I am here and she is still a trainee" one of the trainees gossiped.

"Maybe she will still be a trainee when our kids become one too" another replied and they both giggled.

Larisa clenched her fists but did nothing. She was starting to get used to the talks and she knew it would not stop even if she asked them to stop.

The only solution she had was to get her wolf side.

"Let's not talk about her. Did you hear about it? The Alpha is going to be here today" A girl giggled.

"Oh my! Really?! I can't wait to see him! He is perfect, isn't he?" Another girl giggled.

Larisa bit on her lower lip. He was perfect in looks, she agreed with that and he used to be perfect with everything but that was once upon a time.

During her first year as a trainee, he was just the future Alpha and the youngest male trainer and she remembered him clearly. He was the trainer all girls drooled over and for some time, he seemed interested in her and she had stupidly fallen in love with him. She thought he would love her and be with her but the interest he had in her was lost when she did not get her wolf side on her eighteenth birthday.

He had lost interest in her, abandoned her, given up on her right at that moment. The Alpha was just like every other person. He did not want to be affiliated with someone like her.

Her jaw clenched hard. She had to become strong, she had to put an end to the humiliation she was facing.

Larisa had made up her mind, if she did not get her wolf side in this training session. She was going to put an end to her miserable life and return to the moon goddess who had let her be born to go through this misery.

"It's time! Enough warming up! Let's train!"
