Chapter Fifty-Eight

THEO POV

Darkness surrounds me, the soft muslin fabric pulsing against my lips whenever I take a breath. My arms hanging above me in the silver chains. Thank the goddess for Silver Run, silver immunity, allowing me to keep my strength.

I don’t know where I am, but I remain calm, trying to use my senses and deduce my surroundings. The second Nora disappeared into the helicopter, with the door closing behind her, then there was nothing but blackness.

They barely drag me ten feet before placing me in the trunk. I try kicking out the back lights, but the bastards are smart enough to board it up. Making it impossible, especially with the limited amount of room.

We are not in this vehicle long, probably not far off the Northern Lakes territory based on the number of turns and the speed. We stop to change vehicles, which I was hoping they wouldn’t do, but that’s wishful thinking.
