The following day, Chelsey left the Yates residence in a red sports car. She wore a navy blue windbreaker and put on a pair of shades to hide her eyes, which were red from crying.

She followed the satnav to a resort located halfway up a mountain. As soon as she parked the car, a handsome man with a gentlemanly demeanor opened the door for her.

Chelsey got out, complaining, "Why did I have to come, Jace? You know I'm an introvert—I hate meeting outsiders. Remember to reject these things for me in the future. I don't want to see anyone."
