Chapter 4 I Married a Troublemaker

Belle had just entered her room when she received a call from her grandfather, Noah Walters.

"Belle, did you miss me after being separated for so long? You'll be registering your marriage with Grayson tomorrow, right?"

When Belle heard her dear grandfather's voice, she missed him terribly. She felt like crying.

"Grandpa, I want to go home."

"What's the matter? Are you upset? Did you get bullied?"

Belle complained, "You know that I don't want to get married! I'm only 20 years old! Who gets married at this age? Besides, I don't like that damned Grayson one bit!"

"Silly child, he's my future grandson-in-law who checked all the boxes. You don't know him well enough, and that's why you don't like him for now. When you've gotten to know him, you'll fall for him."

"Grandpa, I seriously don't like him! Why do I have to marry him?"

"Don't you remember our promise? I'll tell you in two years. For now, you just have to listen to me and get along with Grayson. Be good, okay? I won't go back on my word."

At that, Belle suddenly perked up.

"Of course, I'll listen to you. But we promised that it'd only be for two years.

"When I file a divorce after two years, you're not allowed to stop me, Grandpa. Also, you can't go back on your word!"

"Alright."

After hanging up, Belle felt much better.

Even though she didn't want to marry Grayson, she felt that it was worth the deal she made with her grandfather.

Belle's mood had gotten better, but Grayson's hadn't.

He sat at the desk, smoking a cigarette. His expression was extremely foul.

He was upset that a wife was forced upon him, but he endured it because of his grandfather's condition.

He wanted to spend the next two years in quiet harmony with her, but she was too rebellious.

His words couldn't get through to her, and the things she did were infuriating!

It hadn't been more than a few days since she arrived in Maltford, but she pissed him off every single day.

She even hit June today!

Also, before he could lecture her, she insulted him first!

She called him shameless and useless. How dare she!

If it were any other person, he would've punished her already. Unfortunately, his grandfather pampered her.

Moreover, she was only 20, while he was already 29. No matter what, it was embarrassing for a man to punish a girl nine years his junior.

He didn't know what to do with her.

Did he get himself a wife? He felt like he married a troublemaker instead.

At the thought of spending two years with her, Grayson felt a headache coming.

Later on, he received a message from his assistant, Sam Ateneo.

"Mr. Page, I just sent you some information on Ms. Walters."

Grayson opened his inbox. After reading the email, he dialed Sam's number.

"Why do you only have information from two years ago? What about her info before that?"

Belle and Noah suddenly appeared in a rural village one day. For the past two years, the two survived by growing their own food and healing minor illnesses in the village.

But there was no information on them before that.

There was nothing on her background, her biological parents, or anything that happened to her before she turned 18.

Sam said, "I found it weird as well. Henry personally carried out the research, but this is all he could get."

Grayson fell silent.

Henry Patel was a top hacker who could easily break into the secret databases of other countries. If Henry couldn't find information on Belle, her identity must be very well-hidden.

Was there any need for regular people to hide their identity? No!

Who exactly was this arrogant young lady?

Grayson was a little curious. But after staying silent for a moment, he said, "Since we can't find anything, let's stop here."

With that, he ended the call.

He didn't like Belle, so he didn't want to waste any time on her.

After all, he had already struck a deal with his grandfather that he would only be Belle's husband for two years.

When the time was up, he would file a divorce right away!
