FIFTY FIVE

MIA’S POV:

I groaned in pain as I woke up and immediately shut my eyes because my vision was kinda blurry coupled with the light shining directly on my eye.

“Miss, are you okay?” I heard a voice ask.

I opened my eyes and noticed that the light shining on my eyes had been switched off.

“Do you understand what I'm saying?” the voice asked yet again.

I didn't reply as I looked intently at the person standing in front of me and asking me questions.

“Blink once if yes and blink twice if no” the voice which was that of a doctor said.

“I can talk” I replied while trying to sit up on the bed but a sharp pain gripped my stomach making me groan in pain before falling back on the bed.

“You shouldn't try to get up for a while because you have not fully recovered,” the doctor instructed as he reached for my wrist and checked my pulse.

He connected an IV fluid to my wrist before telling a nurse beside him to come to check up on me every hour.
