SCARLETT

One secret after the other. I was slowly crumbling to dust.

First, my father was still alive, and had gone rogue. Now my pack had been recaptured by rogues. I was going insane.

The moment she left me, I bent my head, leaving my hand at the faucet. I had no strength left within me. What was I fighting for if it was all gone? What was left to return to?

My life had gone way off track. And I could only watch as things turned upside down.

When I finally walked back out, the music and chatter of the party almost made me deaf. Laughter, clinking glasses, the smell of wine and roasted meat, it was all too loud and cheery for the storm in my chest.

I had gone to the restroom, to gather myself. But it ended up worse.

Demi was back among the crowd as if nothing had happened in that restroom, her face smooth, her lips painted with a smile that looked convincing enough to fool anyone who hadn’t just heard her threats.

My gaze slid past her and froze. Caleb.l was there too.

He was standi

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Pain

CARDANPain. It was the first thing I knew when I clawed my way back to consciousness. A deep, splitting ache at the back of my skull, pulsing like it was alive. My fingers twitched against the cold stone, and when I tried to move further, a sharp burn went across my wrists.I hissed through my teeth. Silver. The smell of burnt skin filled the room and the place where the iron met skin sizzled like fried meat. The pain was enough to force my eyes open. I could barely see anything in the half dark room. Why was I bound up here?I tried to piece together everything. Scarlett. The chaos. Rogues. Caleb. My chest tightened at the memory of the betrayal, but before I could chase it, another spike of agony went through my skull. My hand instinctively jerked toward the wound at the back of my head, but the chains dragged me short.I gritted my teeth. Whoever had struck me hadn’t done it to kill me. They wanted me alive.Something was off.If it had been Caleb’s men, they would have ended me

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Loss

SCARLETT DRIP. DRIP. DRIP. The incessant drops of rain resounded in the room. It was the sound of retired rain after a heavy downpour. But this sounded too close. Too strange. It filled the room, accompanied by a strong metallic smell that caused my nose to wrinkle. It was a familiar smell that brought back ugly memories.Memories of war. Pain. Loss. The pain in my stomach twisted hard, sharper than before. It spread lower, hooking into my pelvis like claws. I gasped, curling in on myself, trying to hold it in.I reached down. My fingers came away slick with a wet red color. My brain refused it at first. Anything but what it was. But it was blood. My blood.“No…” The whisper left me broken. The next wave of pain crashed. My body seized and my throat tore with a scream I couldn’t stop.“My baby!”I clutched my stomach, begging for what I didn't know. Begging for some sort of salvation.“My baby. My baby!” The blood dropped from in between my legs to the floor in the haunting drip so

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    Flight

SCARLETTIf I waited for someone to knock the door down, I'd be dead before any help arrived. I picked up my phone immediately, turning on the location. That should help her find me.I went to the window with hands that wouldn’t stop shaking. The latch was stiff but obedient. Outside, the parking lot lay empty, a single puddle catching the neon from the sign across the street.I should have thought it through but I didn’t. I moved because like they say idleness was the devil's workshop.I flicked the blanket from the bed and tied a knot in the middle, fingers fumbling until the fabric made something like a rope.I swung one leg over the sill, breath caught in my throat. My knuckles burned from clutching the makeshift rope. The blanket slipped once and my stomach sank. Goddess help me.Don’t look down. Just move. I changed the mantra in my head.I eased out inch by inch, the fabric biting into my palms. My pulse hammered in my ears, louder than the blood rushing through me.CRASH. Th

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    The Bounty

SCARLETT“Who do I call?”Tears blurred my vision as I whispered into the empty room. I was alone. Utterly, terrifyingly alone.By the time I reached the first town, my body ached from walking.Cassian had given me money just enough to get by for a night. I had found a run-down motel tucked between a tavern and a boarded shop. The woman at the desk didn’t ask questions when I shoved cash across the counter, just slid me a key with a chipped brass tag.The room was small, but it was enough.I stripped and stepped into the bath. The water wasn’t hot, but let it run over my skin, washing away the dirt, the fear. My body floated in the shallow tub, but my mind wouldn’t stop racing.I had no allies left. My so-called friends had turned away long ago. My family was nothing but ash scattered in the snow.Harley. Cassian. Caleb. Cardan. My fingers hovered over the screen, In one day, I had lost everything again. My plans, my freedom, my hope. Caleb had destroyed my past and now he would no

SCARLETTMY HEART WAS STILL POUNDING AS I PACED AROUND THE ROOM, trying to comprehend the quick succession of events. It had been a long time since I’d felt like a failure, and a much longer time since I’d been in a physical altercation with a man over the issues of the heart. The one time it happened, I had lost everything. And ended up pregnant with the enemy's child. All I'd done so far was purely to survive. Wasn't our arrangement purely transactional? It was too little to cause that strong reaction from him.The genuine expression of hurt on his face made my heart sink at its contrast in my life. This man was always so two-faced and dismissive. He usually gave a shit. Why did he have that look on his face?I watched him reach outside before I locked the door in tight, making sure I put the bolt across. He would come back for me. I was sure.I moved before I could think.Down the stairs, heart in my throat. I searched the corridors, the courtyard, the stables, everything was e

  • Pregnant For The Enemy Alpha    We Could Never

CARDANI should have killed him. I wanted to kill him.But when he stumbled back, and I saw her pressed against the wall, trembling, wide-eyed, my fury fractured.I saw the way she looked at me. With pity. With shame.I straightened, blood dripping from my claws, my chest heaving. I turned to Caleb.“Take her. Take your wife. And get out of my sight.”He blinked, staggered, stunned. But then his hand reached for her.“Fucking bastard!”He was flung across the room towards the door that splintered into nothing as he landed on it.“Take your wife Demi and leave!”He scrambled off the floor and dragged himself away, muttering some curse words. All I wanted to do in the moment was to have him stay in the dungeon.I heaved, my chest burning like fire in a furnace, the room spinning with the scent of blood and betrayal. My claws retracted slowly, aching as though they, too, resisted leaving the fight behind. Now it was just her. And me.She stood frozen against the wall, trembling, her face
