Chapter 6

Chapter 6

All I know is that Baby has grown big inside my tummy, and he will be a baby boy, our baby boy with Aiden.

I've been living in Kuya's house for eight months now. Mommy and Daddy are in the USA, and they check on me through Skype. I don't want to stay at their house because I'll just be bored with the maids.

I gently caressed my belly and talked to Baby. "How is Daddy doing? And your Uncle Arden?" I sighed.

Two weeks after the fight between Arden and Aiden, and after they found out that I was pregnant, Aiden and Arden's mom came to visit me at Kuya's house.

"Amber, I'm so sorry. I didn't know that you and Aiden were already married in the USA. I'm sorry. If only I knew, things wouldn't have ended up like this. In reality, you could have accompanied Arden for his chemotherapy even without getting married to him. But he really loves you so much."

"Tita, I also love Arden, just not in the same way as I love Aiden. I'm sorry if it had to come to the point where I got pregnant with Aiden before you found out everything."

Then she handed me a paper. I didn't even have to ask what it was and immediately read it. "Annulment paper?" I asked Tita, and she nodded.

"Arden is really sorry for everything, Hija, but he can't face you right now because he's still hurting." Tita hugged me. "But don't worry, time will heal everything, and you and Aiden will be fine in time."

I nodded and mustered the courage to ask about Aiden.

"Tita, where is Aiden?" She smiled at me.

"He's at his house. I sent him home. He's been vomiting every day and has cravings too." I secretly smiled at Tita's response. It turns out I'm still having cravings, and so is she.

"But the problem is, he doesn't want to go home. He's so stubborn. So what I do is if I'm not staying overnight at his house, I visit him every day just to check on him."

So now, I'm not married to Arden anymore; I'm only married to Aiden. Oh, and about how Arden found out about my pregnancy, it went like this: Kuya called him because I was craving leche flan.

He asked him to buy it for me since I initially requested it from Kuya, but after my check-up, he grew impatient and passed it off to Arden without telling me. I didn't mention to him that Arden wasn't the father of the baby.

So, Arden rushed to my house out of the blue. Luckily, Kuya quickly followed him because he said Arden was asking how I got pregnant when we haven't done anything.

"Amber?" Kuya called me after knocking twice. I asked him if I should go down or if he should bring the visitor up. Huh? Who could be visiting me? I raised my voice to ask Kuya who my visitor was, but he didn't answer me.

Then I heard another knock from outside my door. I always leave it open, so I told the person to come in. Maybe Kuya brought them up. Sometimes, I find it difficult to go up and down the stairs.

"Amber..." I immediately turned my head when I heard his voice, and despite my attempt to bite my lip, I still cried upon seeing him. It has been eight months since I last saw him.

"A-Arden..." I called out to him, and I slowly walked towards him, embracing him tightly, and that's when I burst into tears. After the day he found out I was pregnant and that Aiden was the father, we didn't talk anymore.

"Hush, babe... you might harm yourself and the baby." Arden gently whispered to me and stroked my back to calm me down.

"W-why did you only visit me now... do you know that I've been waiting for you and Aiden every day?" I clung to his neck. He took a deep breath in response.

"I'm sorry, Babe, for making you wait for so long." He kissed the top of my head and faced me, gently wiping away my tears.

"Baby has grown so much." Arden changed the topic and gently caressed my belly. I smiled wider.

"I'll be entering my ninth month next month." I said excitedly.

"Have you gone shopping for baby clothes? And is it a girl or a boy?" Arden asked me with a series of questions. I pinched his side and answered his questions.

"I haven't gone shopping yet, and it's a boy."

"Cool. The family has a new junior again. We can go shopping now, if you want and if you're up for it." He asked me. I nodded. So Arden waited for me downstairs so we could go shopping for baby clothes.

-Mall-

We went straight to the baby section in the department store and started choosing clothes for baby boys. There were so many beautiful options, and I couldn't decide which ones to pick until I stopped choosing and faced Arden.

"Arden, are you mad at me?" He immediately shook his head and held my hands.

"I love you so much, babe. I will never be mad at you." This time, I tightly held his hand. But our attention was caught when we heard a baritone voice filled with anger behind us.

"So you two are back together, huh?" He sarcastically asked Arden and me. Arden held my hand even tighter. He grinned at us and glanced at our hands holding each other.

"We should've been the ones divorcing, Amberine, not you and Arden!" And then he left us.

"Aiden, it's not what you think." I softly said as he distanced himself from us.

"Amber, are you sure about this?" Arden asked me. We quickly finished our shopping for baby clothes, and I asked Arden to drop me off at Aiden's house.

He tried to comfort me on the way to Aiden's house. How could I not cry? After eight months of not seeing each other, and now that we finally met, this is happening.

Arden noticed that I looked different. Yes, I do love Arden, but as a friend. Arden already understands what I mean when I say that I love him too. It's just that Aiden has such a vivid imagination!

I calmed myself down and Arden opened the car door for me. He also walked me to the front gate of Aiden's house. "Just call me if you need something or anything." Arden hesitated to say. I told him I'm okay and he can leave.

I nodded, and I pressed the doorbell repeatedly, but no one opened the gate even after five minutes. I held the doorknob and realized it was unlocked!

Annoying, I wasted five minutes there! I slowly walked towards the main door, and when I twisted the doorknob, the door opened! Why doesn't Aiden even lock the house? What if someone stole something from him?

"Aiden?" I called out to him as I entered his house. I cringed at the smell. What is that? It smells like cigarette smoke and alcohol. I walked straight to his living room, and there I saw him, scattered bottles of various alcohol brands lying around.

There were also cigarette butts and ashes scattered on the glass table. This time, I headed to the kitchen, and there I saw me, sitting on the floor. Her hair was a mess, and the first three buttons of her shirt were undone.

She was sitting on the floor, and seeing him like that broke my heart. He looked so hopeless. I knelt down and cupped his face in my hands.

"Aiden..." I called out to him with a broken voice. He slowly opened his eyes, and our gazes met. Pain was evident in his eyes. I bit my lower lip to prevent myself from crying in front of him, but tears still managed to escape.

"Amber..." He gently lifted his hand and wiped away the tears that soaked my cheeks. I immediately hugged him tightly, crying. I hate seeing him like this, wasted.

"Please, Aiden, listen to me... It's not what you think... Arden and I didn't get back together. He just accompanied me to shop for our baby's things."

He didn't say anything and just let me hold him while he took deep breaths. I looked at him slowly, and he had fallen asleep. He probably fell asleep due to drunkenness.

"Arden, thank you, huh?" Arden messed up my hair and smiled at me.

"Of course! You know I'm always here for you. Alright, I'll leave now. You know your brother is moody! He might freak out if he sees me here." I nodded at him and thanked him again.

Luckily, he hadn't moved out of our old house, so I asked for his help to bring Aiden to his room so he could sleep properly.

"Aiden, did you hear what I told you earlier? Are you still angry with me?" I asked him as he slept, while gently stroking his hair.

-The Next Day-

"Aiden, let's talk for a moment!"

"There's nothing left to talk about. If you don't want me to leave, then I'll leave." He coldly said to me.

"Aiden, let me explain. I told you that Arden just accompanied me, right? We didn't get back together. Please, don't leave me. I love you, Aiden." I cried as I spoke to him.

He faced me and tightly held my arm. "You can't love two people at the same time, Amberine!"

"But... I don't love Arden. I love you, Aiden."

"I've heard enough, Amberine. If you don't want me to leave, I'll be the one to leave." And then he let go of my hand.

"Aiden, please..." I pleaded with him, but it was too late. He had already gotten into his car and left.

"Amber, you're stressing yourself too much. You're losing weight because of your sleepless nights and exhaustion." Kuya said to me, two weeks had passed since I started living in Aiden's house.

I didn't want to leave, even though Arden, Kuya, Mommy and Daddy, and even Aiden's parents had talked to me. I wanted to stay here, so when Aiden comes home, I'll be the first one to greet him.

Aiden is nowhere to be found, which frustrates me even more. It's already my ninth month, and I'm finding it difficult to walk around searching for him, but I'm not complaining. I'm just genuinely worried that something might have happened to him.

"Ma'am Amber, there's a letter for you." Donna, my house helper, informed me. I had asked Kuya to hire her to help with the household chores and to make sure I eat on time. Sometimes, when I'm busy searching for Aiden, I forget to eat.

I immediately took the letter and opened it.
