~DAHLIA

"Mummy! Come and see what daddy made for us," my kids yelled, and their extremely loud voices floated into my ears, jolting me out of my sleep.

I frowned as my eyes fluttered open, a groan slipping past my lips.

"What do you want, Ava?" I asked, since she was the one closest to me. Axel was busy jumping at the foot of the bed.

My daughter grabbed my arm and yanked excitedly.

"Daddy has a surprise for us. Come and see."

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   Forgiveness

~DAHLIA"Mummy! Come and see."My frown deepened further. Zayden had a surprise for them? What could it possibly be?After I walked out on him last night, I had been too devastated to even let myself think too much about him.I mean, I understood what he was going through, but that was no excuse for him to just zone us all out just like that. His actions hurt me more than he would ever know, and I was glad I was able to tell him as much last night. So what did he plan this early morning

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   Disappointed

~ZAYDENGrief was like a spectrum. There was days when I hated the world and hated myself for leaving my grandfather for so long, for not knowing that he was sick. For not knowing that he needed me. Those were the bad days. But I also had the good days. Days when I hated myself a little bit less, days when I was able to breath. Days when I was able to remind myself that grandfather would not want me to blame myself for his death. Days when I would remember that his death was not my fault, and that since the moon goddess was in charge of life and living, she knew that it was his time, and she took him away from us. From me. Those days, however, were few and far in between. It wasn't as though I had a choice though. I was the Alpha of my pack. The death of my grandfather was a sad incident, but it wasn't the end of the world. Unfortunately, life had to move on, no matter what. So it did. And I di

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   Hard times

~ZAYDENI didn't know how I got through the next few days. It all passed in a blur, and I didn't remember most of it. But some moments stood out. Like the moment we burned Grandfather's body. I didn't recall how I managed to make decisions despite how foggy my brain was, but I knew I did. Because one moment, I was drowning in a sea of despair, crying in my mate's arms. And the next moment, I was standing with the rest of my pack members, watching as he burned. I didn't remember what happened after that, but I knew Dahlia was there. She held my hand through it. She didn't let me break down in front of all those people. After his body had been burned and his spirit released to start the afterlife journey, I fell back into the abyss. I didn't remember what happened again. Blurred days that passed too fast. Blurred nights that passed too slow, dragging on without an end. Then another day that stood out for me.

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   Let us be devastated together.

~DAHLIAI was still holding his hand when he died. My heart stopped in my chest as Grandfather's chest slowly stopped moving, and when he draw his last breath, I saw it.My heart pounded against my chest so hard that it was as if it wanted to escape, and rapid tears streamed down my face as my adoptive grandfather died. "He's dead. Zayden, grandfather is...he is dead." The words ripped out of me, moving around in the room like a ghost. All of a sudden, the temperature dropped, a rapid chill spreading across the room. Zayden knelt back down at the foot of the bed. I looked at my mate, unable to keep staring at the corpse of the man who raised me and took me away from that hellish orphanage home. The man I would forever be grateful to. And even though I felt like a coward for looking away from him, I did. I looked to my mate instead. And for the first time since I met Zayden, my mate was crying. Very slowly, he reac

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   Good bye...

~ZAYDENI didn't let any fear creep into my heart as I followed Leo inside, but my hands were curled into fists regardless. "What happened? How long has he been sick? How bad is it? Why the hell did you not pick up the phone to call me the moment he fell sick?" I asked, the questions slipping past my lips one after the other without giving him a moment to respond. Dahlia was walking, practically running straight ahead of us, and I could see her entire body vibrating with panic the closer she got to Grandfather's room. Leo took a deep breath before finally responding to all of my questions. "I don't know exactly what happened. All I knew was that, he just...fell sick. At least that was what the maids told me. One night he went to sleep and the next morning he was just..."He trailed off, and my jaw ticked. My grandfather was very old, and he had always been been sick. It was an off and on thing. But this...this sound

  • Pregnant With The Alpha Pup   The trip back home…and some bad news.

~DAHLIAIt was a long trip back home.I tried to stay up and talk to Zayden, to keep him company so that he would not be bored while driving us all through the long distance back home. And I tried. I really did. I talked his ears off, and he listened. Like he always did. But it didn't take long before my exhaustion caught up to me. My eyes started to close. I tried to fight it, really. I shook my head and pinched my cheek and peeled my eyes open with my fingers, but the urge to sleep was strong. Zayden must have seen me struggling because he reached out to pat my arm while keeping the other one on the steering wheel. "Go to sleep, love."I yawned as I shook my head. "Absolutely not. I'm just a little bit dizzy. I'll be fine in a moment," I stated, ignoring the fact that my voice was a little bit slurry. My mate smiled at me. "It's okay, sweetheart. We aren't anywhere close t
