LOGINJackson stood in the corner of the Royal Library, facing a bookshelf filled with ancient dusty leather books.
According to the map he interrogated from Stefan, the entrance was here.
He reached out and pulled a specific black book titled 'History of the Abyss'.
Click.
A hidden mechanism triggered. The entire bookshelf swung open silently, revealing a cold, dark stone staircase spiraling down into the earth. The air that rushed out smelled stale and metallic.
Jackson drew his gun and turned on his flashlight.
"You weren't planning on going down there alone, were you?"
A soft but firm voice echoed from the shadows.
Jackson flinched. He spun around.
Serenity was standing there, wearing a silk robe, arms crossed. She didn't look happy.
"Serenity," Jackson sighed, lowering his gun. "I told you to sleep."
"And I told you that 'partners' means we share everything. Including danger," Serenity walked towards him, looking at the dark tunnel. "If you go down, I go down."
"It's not safe," Jackson tried to block her path. "Stefan said something is down there. The Order..."
"Mom! Dad! Wait for me!"
A whisper-shout interrupted them.
Jackson and Serenity both looked down. Alex came running in his dinosaur pajamas, holding his laptop in one hand and a flashlight in the other. He was out of breath.
"Alex?!" Jackson rubbed his temples. "This is not a field trip! Go back to bed!"
"No way," Alex adjusted his glasses. "The signal is coming from down there. The person crying for 'HELP'. If you go without me, you won't be able to hack the electronic locks."
Jackson looked at his stubborn wife and his genius son. He realized he had lost this argument before it even began.
"Fine," Jackson groaned. "But you stay behind me. And if I say run, you run. Understood?"
"Yes, Sir," Serenity and Alex said in unison.
They descended the stairs. Down. Down. Down.
The air grew colder. The stone walls changed from the refined bricks of the palace to rough, natural bedrock. They were deep underground.
After ten minutes of walking, the tunnel ended.
They stepped into a massive cavern.
"Oh my God," Serenity gasped.
In the center of the cavern stood a colossal gate. It was at least ten meters high, made of a pitch-black stone that seemed to absorb the light from their flashlights.
It wasn't just a door. It was a monolith.
Carved into the black surface was a terrifying relief: Thousands of snakes intertwined to form a barrier. And in the center, a keyhole shaped like a drop of blood.
This was The Hades Vault.
"This doesn't look like it was built by my grandfather," Serenity whispered, shivering. "It looks... ancient."
"The energy readings are off the charts," Alex stared at his laptop screen. "Dad, look. There are no wires. This gate isn't powered by electricity."
"Then what powers it?" Jackson asked, shining his light on the snake carvings.
"I don't know," Alex swallowed hard. "It looks like... magnetic resonance. Or magic. Science can't explain this."
Jackson walked up to the gate. He touched the cold surface.
Hisssss.
A sound echoed from inside the stone.
The carvings... moved. The stone snakes shifted slightly, their eyes glowing a faint, ominous red.
"Jackson! Get back!" Serenity screamed.
Jackson jumped back, his gun raised.
"It reacted to you," Alex said, his voice trembling. "It knows we are here."
Suddenly, Serenity felt a burning sensation on her chest.
She pulled out her silver locket. It was vibrating. The Golden Hawk on the locket was glowing with a warm, golden light, pulsating in sync with the red eyes of the stone snakes.
"It's not reacting to Jackson," Serenity stepped forward, her eyes fixed on the massive gate. She felt a strange pull, a voice in her head calling her.
"It's reacting to me."
"Serenity, don't," Jackson grabbed her arm.
"I have to," Serenity looked at him. "This is my family's legacy. This is what my parents died protecting."
She walked towards the terrifying black gate. As she got closer, the red light of the snakes dimmed, cowering before the golden light of her locket.
The ground shook.
A deep, grinding sound echoed as the massive lock clicked.
The gate was waiting for its Queen.

Sparks showered from the ceiling. The sound of tearing metal was deafening. The dining car groaned and tilted violently to the right. Tables, chairs, and expensive wine bottles slid down the slope, crashing into the wall.Jackson slammed one hand into a window frame, his other arm locked around Serenity’s waist. He stopped them from sliding into the pile of broken glass below."Don't let go!" Jackson shouted over the noise.Serenity looked down. Through the shattered window beneath them, she saw nothing but swirling snow and darkness. They were dangling over a canyon."The coupling is breaking!" "Close your eyes," Liam commanded softly. The nursery was dimly lit. Aurora and Alex lay on the large rug, pillows under their heads. Liam sat between them in a lotus position. Jackson and Serenity watched from the couch, feeling useless but alert."Grandpa, this is unscientific," Alex muttered, keeping one eye open. "Telepathy isn't real.""Quantum entanglement is," Liam placed a finger on Alex's forehead and another on Aurora's. "Connect."A pulse of violet light rippled through the room. The Dreamscape.Alex gasped. He wasn't on the rug anymore. He was standing on an endless plane of pure white water. The sky was white. That night, the Palace was quiet. But the air was heavy. In the royal nursery, five-year-old Aurora was tossing and turning in her bed. She was sweating.“No… go away…” she whimpered in her sleep.Around her room, objects began to react to her distress. Her teddy bears floated into the air. The heavy curtains rustled as if caught in a storm, though the windows were closed. The water in her glass began to boil.In the Dream:Aurora was standing in a field of grey ash. The sky was purple. In the distance, a massive Black Tower stretched up into the clouds. It looked like a needle piercing the sky.Standing at the top of the tower was a man. He didn't have a face. Just a smooth, white mask with a single vertical line drawn on it."Come here, little star," the man’s voice echoed inside her head. "Your light belongs to me."Shadowy hands reached out from the ground, grabbing Aurora’s ankles."Daddy!" she screamed in the dream. In the Real World:CRACK!The mirror on Aurora's wall shattered
