Chapter 2
Jaxon's POV
For reasons best known to my wolf Liam, he requested that we take a walk in the woods alone tonight. Ever since I received news of the collision taking place at the nearby regions two nights ago, I have been up and busy.
Liam must be as tired as I am, which is why I didn't deny him. I will probably shift later on and let him have all the fun in the world.
“Come on, Liam, it's time to return to the pack. I'm sure the guards and Grayson must be wondering where I am now. I do not want a search party taking place for me.” I explained to Liam, but he seemed very reluctant to leave.
All of a sudden, I felt someone pass by the trees, and my curiosity peeked. I stood up and stood still for a while. I didn't feel any sense of danger, so I relaxed a little bit.
My lips curved up into a smile as my nose was filled with the scent of the she wolf playing in the woods. My wolf growled within me, and I felt the same.
Now I'm the one who is not ready to leave the woods. I sniffed the air so I wouldn't lose track of her.
Finally, she stopped running and stopped by a tree. The full moon shone on her body, giving me the opportunity to see who it was. My face fell as I recognized the familiar figure in front of me.
Elena….
The daughter of one of the council elders. I shook my head and wanted to turn back, but my legs couldn't move. I couldn't control my body and wondered what might be going on.
All of a sudden, Elena turned and stood in front of me.
“Mate…” I heard the words fall out of her mouth so loud and clear.
My wolf leapt for joy, and my eyes widened with shock. I shook my head, not wanting to say the word. But my body vibrated as the force nature overwhelmed me.
“Mate…” I spurred out and snorted in anger.
“Impossible…” I whispered, and she looked up at me, her eyes filled with sadness.
“Alpha Jaxon!” I heard her voice tremble as she walked closer to me. I could feel her breathe shaking, and I had no idea what to do with her.
She immediately went on her knees with her head bowed, her body shaking and trembling. I couldn't bring myself to say a word to her.
I just stood there staring at the scared girl who was afraid of her alpha, who happens to be her mate. I shut my eyes in frustration and tugged down at the collar of my shirt.
I exhaled sharply and walked out of the woods without sparing her another glance.
My wolf wanted to protest, but I didn't give room for any weakness. I stormed out of the wood, unable to believe what had just happened to me.
“Alpha Jaxon?” I heard Grayson calling for me as I stepped into the pack estate, but I wasn't in the mood to speak to him, so I just walked by.
“Not now, Grayson. I don't want to talk to anyone. Have the maids prepare my bath, I would like to go to bed immediately.” I ordered as I walked away.
“Yes alpha!” Grayson bowed his head without asking any further questions.
The maids prepared my bath just like I requested. I took my bath, got changed into my night robe, and laid there on the bed.
I managed to close my eyes, but sleep would not come. I even tried to serenading myself to sleep, but nothing I was doing was working. The wolf bond was pulling and calling me, and Liam was not helping matters.
He wants that she wolf badly, but I don't want her. After hours of tossing and turning, I finally gave up and stood up from the bed. I walked to the window and noticed the moon was still shining.
“Aargghh! I groaned and stamped my feet on the floor. I walked to the door and heaved a deep sigh.
“Get my beta now.” I ordered, knowing the guards would be there listening.
“Alpha Jaxon!” I heard Grayson's voice from outside the door.
“Come inside.” I said to him, and the door to my room flung open.
“I need you to get me Elena right now. Once she arrives, send her in here.” I ordered, and Grayson looked at me with his eyes filled with questions.
“I know you have a lot of questions, but I'm not willing to answer them yet. Just get me Elena right now.” I said to him.
“Elena… daughter of one of the council members?” Grayson asked to be sure, and I nodded my head.
“Yes that one.” I said, and he bowed his head before leaving my room.
I inhaled sharply, feeling really uncomfortable all over. I could feel the heat of desire and lust spread all over me, and I didn't know how to react to it. I have never felt this way before, and it's honestly driving me insane.
“I should wait in the garden,” I murmured and made down to the garden.
Thirty minutes later, I heard approaching footsteps and turned, knowing who it was already.
“Alpha Jaxon, she's in your room already.” Grayson revealed, and I nodded my head.
I heaved a deep sigh for the umpteenth time and made way to my private bedroom. Getting to the door, I paused, unsure whether or not to continue with what I have in mind.
“Fuck!!” I cursed and slammed the door open. I heard her gasp and flinched on the bed. My eyes softened as I saw her, and I could feel the raw emotions oozing out of me.
“Undress…” I ordered.
Elena’s POVThe moment Amelia raised her hand, I flinched—expecting the sting, expecting the blow. My hand instinctively flew up to shield my face. But before anything could happen, a sharp voice cut through the tension like a blade.“What the hell are you doing?!”Elizabeth stormed out of the restroom, eyes blazing, her fists clenched at her sides. She stepped between us without hesitation, shielding me with her entire body.“Don’t you ever touch her,” she snapped, glaring at Amelia with such fire I barely recognized her. “You hear me? I don’t care how scary you think you are—back the hell off.”Amelia blinked, slightly thrown off by the sudden interruption.“You’re a bully,” Elizabeth continued, her voice rising. “We all know that. But guess what? You don’t just go around bullying people for breathing near your so-called boyfriend. And speaking of Rick—maybe you should go home and train your dog, because if he weren’t busy sniffing around every girl in school, none of this would be
Elena’s POVThe next morning, I felt sick again. It had become a routine. The waves of nausea hit me harder than before, especially in the mornings. Elizabeth helped me dress quickly. I wore my uniform—pressed skirt, white shirt, and black shoes—topped with the oversized cardigan we agreed on. It still smelled like her lavender perfume.“You good?” Elizabeth asked, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. Her eyes scanned my face, noticing how pale I looked.I nodded weakly, trying to smile. “As good as I can be.”She didn’t believe me. I saw it in her eyes. But she didn’t push. She just held my hand all the way to school.By the time we got to class, my stomach was already churning. I gripped the edge of the wall as we neared the door, trying to breathe through it.Elizabeth leaned close. “You want to sit for a while?”“No,” I whispered. “Let’s just go in.”As we reached the door, she excused herself. “Give me two minutes. I need the restroom—don’t move.”I nodded. She walked off.Th
Chapter 9Elena’s POVIt continues that way.I was still in shock as I walked into the house with Elizabeth. My knees felt weak, and my heart was racing so fast I thought it might burst out of my chest. I sat on the edge of the bed, my fingers trembling, my throat dry.Pregnant.For a man who didn’t even care. For a man who left me that same day.He took my innocence right in front of me and then… rejected me. Just like that. No remorse, no second thoughts. He tossed me aside like I was nothing. His own mate.He knew how much I had longed for this. For years, I’d prayed for the Moon Goddess to bless me with my mate. I’d dreamed of the bond, the connection, the love. And instead, I got pain.Right on the day of my birthday. The first gift I received was rejection. Unbearable, brutal rejection. And that was why I left. Not just temporarily—I left for good. I didn’t want to have anything to do with that guy ever again. I didn’t want any memory, any scent, any trace of him haunting me.Bu
Chapter 8Jaxon’s povJaxon hadn’t been himself since Elena left.He told himself he didn’t care—that she was just the daughter of an elder, that claiming her would be beneath him. But every time he closed his eyes, she was there. Her scent lingered in his sheets. Her laughter haunted his halls. His wolf growled with unrest, pacing inside him like a caged beast. He wanted her.Desperately.But wanting her and claiming her were two very different things. He was the Alpha. She was a nobody. His betrothal to Nikki, the daughter of a powerful Alpha from the next territory, was already sealed. There was no room in his world for someone like Elena. At least, that’s what he told himself.Yet the ache in his chest refused to leave. And when she was gone—when she left without even saying goodbye—it only got worse. He felt empty. Incomplete. Like part of his soul had been ripped away. That night, he confided in his best friend, Ryker.“Claim her,” Ryker said, simply. “Screw the politics. Screw
Chapter 7Elena tried to focus on the clothes in front of her—rows of folded jeans and plain t-shirts—but her mind was a storm she couldn’t calm. The mall wasn’t much, just a modest one on the edge of the city, but it was more than her family could usually afford. They were average people. Not poor, but not rich either. Just enough to get by, to keep food on the table, and send her to school.Lisa, her aunt, watched her closely as they browsed. “Elena,” she said quietly, her voice low but firm. “I know something’s wrong.”Elena looked away, pretending to examine a jacket.“You may have lied to your father, but you can’t lie to me,” Lisa pressed. “Give me anything, Elena. Anything and everything. What happened during your stay with the Alpha?”Elena’s breath hitched. She felt like the air had suddenly turned too heavy to breathe. “Nothing happened,” she said, forcing a shrug. “I just… I need to get away. I want to be alone.”Lisa didn’t buy it. She tried again and again to pull the tru
Chapter 6The pains was unbearable for me to handle and endure I felt like my whole world was crumbling I can’t believe that Alpha Jaxon did this to me but initially I expected this a long time ago from the start Blood dripping from my gown I didn’t want to go through the main entrance so I had to follow the back door my father and every other person should not know about this I said to myself Immediately I entered my room I headed straight to the bathroom and had a warm bath tears crawling down my face all through I was in pains I shouldn’t have believed him 15 minutes later I stepped out and wore my clothes when Lisa entered and she noticed my mood immediately “You look glumly and sad is there any problem? And besides when did you get home we came to your room last night but it was locked she said and I forced a smile“I came back late so I had to sleep what’s for breakfast? I’m starving, I said jokingly and she said spicy pasta and plantains! Your favorite I smiled at herI will
