Chapter 3

Elena’s POV

“Alpha Jaxon…” my voice trembled as I watched him walk out of the woods hurriedly. I sat back on the floor my heart gripped with fear. I truly cannot believe that the most ruthless alpha in the region who happens to be the alpha of our pack is my mate.

“No way this is happening to me.” I muttered under my breathe. Now it all makes perfect sense to me. This was the reason why I was so restless all day. My wolf was only calling to her mate.

I stood up hurriedly and ran out of the woods. I have no idea what his intentions were. I arrived home and Lisa was out by the gate waiting for me.

“Elena… Child where have you been? I looked all over for you. You left your birthday party and left all your guests.” Lisa said rubbing salt to my wounds.

“Lisa, I'm perfectly fine. My wolf just wanted a run.” I explained but Lisa didn't seem convinced my with my answer.

“Are you sure that's what happened? You look like you were struck by listening or something of some sort.” Lisa insisted and I groaned inwardly.

“Lisa please I really want to be alone now. I know you put in a lot for this party to hold and I really appreciate you. And I'm sorry that I ruined all your plans.” I turned around and said to her.

“But I need to be alone. Keila and I need some time alone.” I repeated hoping she understands. Something unimaginable just happened and I have no idea what awaits me.

Alpha Jaxon's reaction after he found out we were mates flashed through my head and my heart sank.

He clearly wasn't pleased with the discovery. He just stood there and stared at me like I'm nothing.

Impossible…

Those were the exact words he muttered, and I could feel tears in my eyes as the words echoed in my subconscious.

I got to my room and my body hit the bed immediately. I tossed and turned feeling restless, and cold. I didn't know whether or not to be worried. I was too tired so I drifted off to sleep.

The banging sound coming from the door jolted me from my light sleep. I sat up on the bed covered in sweat. I could barely feel my body as I felt numb and weak.

“Elena… Child please you must come out now. A message from the pack estate has been sent to you. Beta Grayson has come to deliver it himself.” Lisa informed me her voice cutting through the door.

I flipped out of the bed in fear. I dragged my feet up to the door and opened it slightly. Lisa and my father were there and I wondered if I should tell them the truth.

I came out of my room and closed the door behind me.

“Tell me Elena, what's happening? Why did the alpha call for you by this time of the night?” My father asked and my breath siezed as I didn't know what to say to him.

“I don't know, maybe he has some errands he would like to ask me.” I lied, and Lisa murmured something I couldn't hear.

I didn't bother waiting for them both. I ran downstairs and met Beta Grayson waiting there.

“Beta Grayson…” I bowed my head seeing him, and he did the same thing to me.

“I'm sorry to bother you and your household tonight, but the alpha himself has seeked your presence tonight.” Grayson stated, and I nodded my head.

“I hope there isn't a problem. I think I should come with you.” My father said.

“That won't be necessary, and I assure you there's no cause for alarm.” Grayson assured my father.

“Don't worry, dad, I know why the alpha is asking for me, and it's nothing bad, so be at rest, please.” I said to my father and followed the beta to the pack estate.

We arrived at the pack estate, and I was led to the upstairs. I didn't know where we were going but I just followed suit. I wanted to ask questions, but I didn't dare to ask it.

“Here, please wait for the alpha in there.” Grayson said, and I nodded my head. My legs suddenly felt heavy as I stepped into the room. Hours ago, alpha Jaxon didn't seem thrilled to see me, but now he has requested for, and now I'm to wait in his room.

The room was dark but was also filled with the strong scent of the alpha. I felt warm and enveloped in his scent. I shut my eyes, savouring the moment. I sat on the bed, and suddenly, the door to the room flung open.

The strong male scent grew stronger feeling the room with its essence. I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me it was alpha Jaxon that had just come in. I flinched and jerked up from the bed.

“Undress….” His sturdy voice filled the room, and I gasped as I was short of breath. I didn't know how else to react to him, but I'm trying my best to keep calm.

He marched towards me, closing the gap between.

“I said undress..” his voice was stronger this time, and I felt hypnotised. Our eyes locked with our gazes holding each other. I pulled the zipper of my gown down, revealing my upper body.

I have never been bare in front of a man before. I'm supposed to be shy, but on the contrary, it felt as though this is something I've been waiting for.

Alpha Jaxon grabbed my chin, and I could feel our heartbeat pacing together. I could feel his hot breath on my soft skin, melting every inch of me away.

Our nose rubbed together and my eyes flickered with emotions I didn't know I possessed. He brought his lips closer to mine and I shut my eyes. He placed a soft kiss on my lips, and without thinking I threw myself into his arms.

Weeks had passed since the New Year, and change was in the air.Jaxon made a decision — one that had been growing in his heart for a while now. He no longer wanted to share a house full of friends and chaos. He wanted something calmer, something that belonged just to him and Elena. A home. A future. A family. So, he handed over the keys of his other house to Rick and Jack, telling them, with a crooked smile and a thump on the back, “It’s yours now. Fill it with whatever madness you want — but I’m leaving with Elena. We’re building something new.”That morning, Jaxon had stood in front of the mirror adjusting his shirt collar, eyes steady but laced with nerves. His heart thudded like a drum. His jaw was freshly shaven, and his hair neatly brushed back. Tonight had to be perfect. There were no do-overs for moments like this.He pulled out his phone and called Elena. She was with Elizabeth in the living room, her fingers braiding Mimi’s hair as Jimmy napped on a blanket. She picked up on

The soft creak of the wooden stairs echoed in the quiet hallway as Jaxon carefully carried Elena up to her new room. The house had been bustling with celebration just moments ago, but now, it felt like a world apart — a calm stillness that seemed to hush every sound.Elena’s voice broke the silence as she spoke softly, slurring just slightly from the alcohol. “Jaxon… it’s so different here. I never imagined I’d have a room all to myself.” Her words floated between them like a fragile thread, her eyes heavy but restless.Jaxon smiled gently, trying to steady her wobbling steps. “Yeah, it’s safer this way. I didn’t want you sleeping downstairs with us boys anymore after I found out… well, you’re a girl.” His tone was soft, almost protective, but there was something in his eyes — a flicker of something unspoken. They reached the door to the new room, and Jaxon set her down gently. The walls were painted a calming shade of pale blue, and a neatly made bed sat in the corner with fresh whit

Hooray! It was New Year’s Day, and Elena’s birthday celebration was everywhere — colorful balloons, shimmering lights, laughter echoing through the house. The atmosphere was alive with joy, the kind that wraps around you like a warm hug on a chilly evening. For once, the house was filled with a lightness that felt almost unreal after months of tension and uncertainty.Elizabeth was visiting for the first time. The moment she stepped into the house, a broad smile stretched across her face, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She looked around with amazement at how Elena had transformed — no longer the introverted, quiet girl she once knew, but someone who had forged deep bonds with the three boys, especially Jaxon, Rick, and Jack. Elizabeth’s heart swelled with happiness seeing her friend surrounded by such genuine affection.Elena, usually so reserved, was laughing freely, her cheeks flushed with warmth. It was clear she felt comfortable here, loved and accepted. Elizabeth could see i

One month later, the atmosphere had shifted. It was a new time, a new beginning, and a fresh start, yet the weight of Elena’s absence still lingered heavily in the air. Jaxon and the other two boys had been thinking about her constantly. None of them were truly themselves anymore. Since Elena had left and hadn’t come back, a part of their world felt incomplete. They tried their best to cope with her disappearance, to fill the emptiness she left behind, but no matter how hard they tried, something inside them was missing. They sent her messages regularly, but there was no reply. Had she forgotten them? They couldn’t help but ask themselves the painful question. That morning, the three boys scrambled to get ready for school. The clock was ticking, and they were running late. Jaxon, who had been attending the same school all along, just wanted to finish strong. Graduation was this month, and he was determined to stay in school so that if Elena ever came back, it wouldn’t be difficult for

Everything felt like a movie.Elena didn’t remember how she got home, nor how she ended up in this soft bed, wrapped in clean, lavender-scented sheets. All she remembered was Jaxon’s face—pale with worry, eyes burning like wildfire—just before everything had gone black. Now, sunlight streamed through the cream curtains, brushing her cheeks with warmth. She blinked, momentarily stunned by the brightness. Then slowly, she sat up.Her hand instinctively reached for her stomach. There was no pain.Startled, she peeled back the blanket and checked the spot where the deep gash had once been. Nothing. Her skin was flawless—like nothing had happened. She blinked again, lips parting in disbelief.“A wolf’s superpower,” she muttered to herself, breathless. She looked around the unfamiliar but tidy room, then saw her phone resting neatly on the bedside table. Next to it, a steaming bowl of noodles sat, garnished and served with care. Hot breakfast… in bed?Her brows furrowed. Mr. Damien had alwa

Elena was gobsmacked—utterly stunned. She couldn’t process it all at once. The man they feared the most, the cruel and manipulative Rock, had been brought down… by a baseball. A simple, spinning baseball thrown with so much force and power from Rick’s hands. She blinked rapidly, struggling to grasp what she had just witnessed. The sight was surreal, almost like her mind was playing tricks on her.Rick? With that kind of strength? And Rock? Defeated? Her chest heaved up and down, overwhelmed by the chaos, the noise, and the burning pain in her side. She couldn’t hold on much longer. Her vision blurred, dark spots dancing before her eyes. Her body gave in. She collapsed to the ground, her knees folding beneath her as everything turned to a swirling black. But just before darkness swallowed her, Jaxon was there—arms wrapping around her tightly.“Elena!” he shouted, panic evident in his voice. His arms trembled as he scooped her up from the floor, holding her tightly against his chest lik
