CHAPTER TWO

Roman Voss's POV

"Sir,the shipment just landed.Mr. sterling asked to see you. "

My assistant,Annabelle, spoke as I stared at her.

"And....?" "You have a meeting by 12,sir."

"Cancel it.Call Juliana."

Grandma was supposed to go out with me today to her favorite restaurant.

It was a small.cozy place she found months ago.

I didn't have time,so I asked my sister to go with her.

"Juli? Are you there already?" I asked,placing my iPad on my lap to take the phone from Annabelle.

Her soft sob reached my ear."Juliana!what happened? "

"Grandma,she is in the hospital,"

"What!" Anabelle shifted,the intensity of my voice scared her.

I hung up and ordered the driver to turn around,but we had reached the office.

"Sir,are you -"

"Get out." I barked at my assistant. She hurriedly walked out.

I took my phone,"Damien..someone just harmed my grandma! I want that bastard before i get to the basement!" I barked instructions to my right hand, man.

Who dare to mess with my grandma?!

"Take me to the hospital,"

I told the driver who quietly drove out of the company.

I clenched my fist,if anything happened to my grandma,I would wipe out that person's entire generation.

My grandma is my everything!

A few minutes later,I walked into the vip section of the hospital,anger surge through me as I saw my grandma,on the bed,unconscious,with bandage wrapped on her head. A message popped up on my phone. It was Damien.

'She's here.' I smirked. She was going to pay dearly.

"Look who finally decided to show up." I heard a familiar voice,i knew it was my mum,even without looking from my phone

"Mum." I spoke uninterested, as if asking why she was here?

"Why can't I be here? She is my mother."Didn't look that way 20 years ago when you abandoned us."

She glared at me and hissed.

"So,you still have not forgiven me after all these years?"

I laughed.Not a hearty one.More like, "You are unbelievable kind of laugh.

"If you were me,would you forgive a woman that never made home feel like home?"

"Or a woman that made me hate my total existence, I wonder why you are still here!"

"Don't talk to mother like that, Roman."

"No,let him juliana,let him keep insulting me if that would make him happy."

I glanced at my younger sister,entering with puffy eyes.

"Juli,your eyes.." she walked up to me."I was scared,I thought I lost grand ma,I.. "Her body shook as I held her,tears flowed down even with her attempt to stop the tears.

"Its okay,whoever did this would pay.They will fucking pay."

I patted her for awhile,then got up to leave.

"Where are you going?"

"I have unfinished business,juli." she nodded affirmatively and

pulled me into a hug.

I walked out of the hospital.I needed to see who hurt my grandma.

When I walked into the basement, it was quiet but I knew soon enough,they would be screams.I promise.

I walked towards the room,pushing the door open.I saw her.

I clenched my fist as I slowly stepped forward.

She had this aura of softness,this face that screams I can't hurt a fly.

It annoyed me even more. I hated people like that.

She stared at me,looking closely,she was scared.

I barked out, "You dare touch my grandma?"

She immediately had this look of innocence. Well played.great actress.

"I..swear, I didn't hurt her,sir..i- -" Her voice,soft,full of fear,she was already stuttering. Good.

"I did not ask you to speak!" My deep voice made her flinch.

"Who sent you? "

"I..I.. am innocent,I swear on my father's grave,I am -"

"Shut the fuck up,tell me what I want to hear!" I coldly spoke.Walking toward her.Her chained hands prevented her from moving too far

I slowly bent down to her eye level. She tensed.

"You hurt her."

" My grandma. Someone dear to me."

My patience were running thin. My jawa tightened,icould feel her heartbeat quicken,she was scared.

"Speak before I make you!"

Slowly,she looked up.Upclose,she looked familiar.

Where have I seen her before?

My lips curled into a smirk. Realizing who she was.
