登入One reckless night shattered her future. Now, it’s about to become her destiny. After catching her fiancé cheating hours before their engagement party, Aria Cole drowns her heartbreak in alcohol and ends up in the arms of a devastatingly handsome stranger. No names. No promises. Just one unforgettable night of passion. Until two pink lines change everything. When Dominic Ashford—the cold, ruthless billionaire CEO and her ex’s boss—discovers Aria is carrying his child, he refuses to let her walk away. Especially not after she nearly terminates the pregnancy he’s always craved. He offers her a contract: one year as his wife in exchange for protection from her toxic ex and the scandal threatening to destroy her. But their dangerous arrangement awakens something far more lethal than desire. As buried secrets surface—betrayal, hidden identities, and a decades-old massacre tied to Dominic’s powerful family—passion turns into obsession. The man she’s falling for may be her greatest enemy… or her only salvation. In a world of revenge, lies, and toxic love, how far will a ruthless billionaire go to claim the woman carrying his heir?
查看更多The night couldn't have been better. I am getting engaged finally, I have the world's best fiancée, and on top of that, I just struck a deal with the Ashford Group, in which I will have to meet with them tomorrow. I finally have stability in my life after all that happened four years ago.
I breathe in sharply, a lot of weight relieving from my shoulders. I walked back into the mansion; I believe it will be time for the engagement announcement soon. But first, I have to adjust my makeup and then find my fiancée.
I had planned exactly how it would go in my head over and over for the last few weeks: the toast, the kisses, all of the thoughts that made me happy and giddy without even thinking of my grief.
As soon as I entered the private suite bathroom, something felt off. Like the air was thicker and an incorrigible sound echoed. I paused at the door to listen to what I had just heard. Then it came again.
Moans.
Passionate ones.
I frowned slightly, disgusted by the fact that some people had the nerve to do this at my engagement gathering.
I was about to leave when I heard a choking sound and a very familiar voice. “Do you like that, baby?”
The voice was low, rough, almost unrecognizable, but I knew Ryan's voice even in my coma.
For a moment, I froze, frowning as I tried to make sense of what was happening. This couldn't be happening, not at my engagement happening today.
I tried to convince myself it wasn't what it sounded like, but the soft moan came again. I shook my head, my hands starting to vibrate as my heart rate spiked.
I needed to convince myself it was a misunderstanding, so I pushed open the door further, trying to trace which bathroom stall the noise was coming from.
I walked further into the bathroom when the strong scent of sex mixed with cologne; Ryan's cologne almost knocked me out cold, confirming what I was too scared to admit.
Ryan's voice came in later.
“Fuck, I might have you marry me, Nessa…. Cookie is a good-for-nothing prude,” he said in between moans.
The erotic sounds seemed to stop for a while, then the woman's voice came through.
“Then why marry her….”
Ryan almost hissed under his breath; he took in a sharp breath as the erotic sound continued. “I told you I need the Cole name to build my legacy…. If not…. Fuck, baby, just l…like that…” he grunted as his words became even more incoherent.
“You did well…” he praised.
“About Aria… she is just a grief-ridden spoiled brat who needs attention… after the engagement, I will spell it out for her that I never loved her… I have always loved you…” he said.
Still frozen in place, I wanted to move and go back as if I hadn't heard anything, but the door opened, and the woman came out. Her hair disheveled and her lipstick smudged. She paused amidst laughter just as she said, “Poor girl.”
Ryan followed behind immediately, also freezing as he saw me. I tried as much as possible to remain calm, trying desperately not to break down in front of these people, but it was hard as hell.
I stumbled backwards, turned around, and simply walked out.
Ryan rushed after me. “Cookie… please wait… it’s not what you think…” he ran after me, grabbing my hands. I stopped immediately.
Forcing a slow, tight smile, I said, “What do I think? I didn't hear anything…” I watched his expression as confusion took over.
“I'm sorry, Aria… I'm so sorry…. I love you,” he said, holding my hands even tighter.
“Arry!” Claire's voice came through before I could respond. “I have looked everywhere for you…” she said, running towards me, her heels clicking loudly in the quiet hallway.
“Is everything… okay?” she asked as she saw the position we both were in.
“Whiskey…” I whispered to her, a safe word we both agreed on. Her eyes widened briefly, then she recovered, grabbing my hands from Ryan.
“I need to talk to her… alone.” Ryan couldn't do anything; he could only helplessly watch as she dragged me out of the hallway into a room.
"Spill!" she said as soon as we entered the room.
I couldn't hold it in anymore. The tears I had been holding in came flooding out. I threw my hands around Claire, pulling her into a tight embrace.
“Ryan…” I said, my voice cracking violently, “I caught him with someone just now…”
Claire's hands stiffened around me. “What!”
“I saw him… with her just now… in the private restroom,” I sobbed.
She guided me towards the bed and sat me down gently. “I thought he loved me, Claire…. He told me he couldn't imagine a life without me…” I said, sobbing even more into her arms.
“He called me a prude; he said I was good for nothing, that he was with me for my family name… Claire, am I good for nothing?” I said, searching her face.
“Don't do that…. Don't blame yourself for that idiot. I want you to be happy you found out earlier and not later when it will be too late; his actions and words aren't a reflection of who you are….” she said, wiping my face dry with her bare hands.
“I don't know what to think, Claire…. I can't….”
She pulled me into a hug again. She kept patting and soothing me until I was calm.
“You've got this, Arry. You can't sit here sobbing while he derives pleasure…” she said.
I sniffled, my thoughts finally coming back into place.
“This engagement won't hold!” I said with so much conviction.
“Yes,” she nodded.
“And you will get your ass up, and we will go get a drink… we can't stay here if there's no reason to…”
I nodded gently, although I wasn't convinced about the new plan.
“You know that's not my thing.”
“That's because of what happened four years ago; it used to be your thing in high school,” she said, dragging me into another hug.
I chuckled gently.
“You have no idea how much I admire your strength every day… you inspire me, Arry,” Claire whispered into my hair.
The little confession brought tears to my eyes again. I sniffled, but this time it wasn't because I just got cheated on, but because I was proud of how I managed my emotions.
“Let's go… There's this billionaire club in town… we can go there before Ryan finds us and ruins the night.”
“And yes, you are allowed to make bad decisions.”
ARIA'S POVClaire left not long after, taking the empty food containers with her and threatening, only half-joking, to check in on me again tomorrow if I didn't reply to her texts.I'd barely settled back into the last of my paperwork when Tyler knocked, tablet in hand, that particular expression on his face that usually meant something I wasn't going to like."What now," I said, setting my pen down."Ryan," he said simply. "Security spotted him near the coffee shop across the street a while ago. He hasn't approached the building, hasn't done anything actionable enough to remove him. But he's still out there."I exhaled slowly, pressing my fingers against my temples. "He knows he's blocked. He knows security's under strict orders not to let him near the entrance.""He does. Which is probably why he's just... waiting instead.""For what?""I don't know." Tyler hesitated. "Do you want an escort when you leave tonight?"I considered it, exhaustion and irritation tangling together. "No. I
DOMINIC'S POVThe taste of her was still on my mouth when I left her office, and I hated how deliberately I had to work to stop thinking about it.I'd meant the kiss as strategy. Somewhere between her jaw in my hand and the sound of her breath catching, it had stopped being that. She'd gone quiet afterward, the kind of quiet I recognized too well from years of reading rooms for a living. Not desire. Retreat.I'd overstepped. Whatever this marriage actually was, I'd promised her distance, and I'd broken that promise in front of a boardroom full of investors who now had exactly the photos they needed.Fine. The photos had worked. That would have to be enough."The leak," I said to Jorah once we were in the car. "I want it found today, not eventually.""I've been cross-referencing staff schedules against the timing of the article," he said, pulling up a file on the tablet between us. "Whoever fed that reporter details about the separate wings had to be inside the house sometime yesterday
ARIA'S POVAfter a lot of calls, I was able to bring down the post, privately investigating the company that published it.I went back to my work as if nothing had happened. After several hours of cross-checking Dominic's work, I was satisfied and decided to take a break when the door opened without a knock.Dominic.He shut the door behind him gently, his eyes finding mine. He walked across the room in a few strides, his phone in his hands and his jaw set in a way that told me he must have seen the news."You came," I said, though it came out more surprised than I intended."Of course I came." He set his phone down on my desk, the article still glowing on the screen. "This isn't just embarrassing. It's dangerous. If the board believes this marriage is a farce, every ounce of stability we bought Thursday disappears overnight.""I know that.""The investors who came back," he continued, pacing slightly now, restless energy radiating off him in a way I hadn't seen since the hospital hal
ARIA'S POVThe car ride to the clinic was quiet, the same careful, practiced silence that had become the default language between us over the past week.I stared out the window, watching the city blur past, and reminded myself for the hundredth time that this was fine. This was the arrangement. Distance wasn't cruelty, it was simply the shape of what we'd agreed to. While acting even more lovey dovey in the house.I really wanted to move back to my place but Granny insisted I stay for a week. I really enjoyed my stay, but I can't deny I missed the office even more. Dominic was forced to take charge briefly till I was “permitted” to go out.The pregnancy is seven weeks already. The thought still felt strange every time I let myself sit with it — a whole person, small and stubborn, growing steadily inside me despite everything trying to derail it. Ryan. The headlines. The collapse in the lobby. Whatever fear had gripped me that morning in the car with Dominic, whispering something's wron
ARIA’S POVI wish I had been sober enough yesterday. I desperately want to remember every detail of what caused my body to ache this much — especially the delicious soreness between my legs.Every shift of my thighs sent a reminder of last night. Of strong hands, a deep voice murmuring my name, and
DOMINIC’S POVAria stood before me in nothing but lace panties and heels, her skin glowing under the low golden light. The private suite was quiet except for our breathing, plush bed, heavy curtains, the distant thump of club music like a heartbeat.“Still think you came to the wrong table?” she w
DOMINIC’S POVShe broke the kiss almost immediately—brief and teasing. The taste of her lingered on my tongue, sour like the whiskey she'd both been drinking. I wanted to pull her back in, to finish the fire she started, but that mischievous smile stopped me cold. She knew exactly what she was doi
DOMINIC'S POV“The VIP section you reserved is currently occupied, and there is no vacant section,” the hostess walking behind me hurriedly explains.I know I came out of the blue, without my usual reservation. But I didn't prepare for no room at all.I kept walking, remnants of annoyance starting
