DOMINIC'S POV

My entire body froze.

The front page of the article showed Aria — not the woman from the engagement party in the grainy clips I had seen before, but a powerful figure standing tall, chin lifted high, exuding undeniable authority. She looked like someone born to command rooms, to bend empires to her will. The fire in her eyes was unmistakable.

The headline beneath her photograph read:

Cole Heiress Faces Leadership Purge Scandal Amid Internal Company Crisis.

Cole heiress.

RYAN'S POVEverything was falling apart. The little control I thought I still had was slipping through my fingers like sand.I stood on the balcony of my penthouse, the cold night wind biting at my skin, but all I could see was red — the glaring red numbers on my laptop screen, each one another nail in my coffin. Another major investor had pulled out an hour ago. Three suppliers had sent termination notices. My phone wouldn’t stop vibrating with frantic messages from board members and partners demanding answers. All because of herAria. The woman who was supposed to be my golden ticket. The heiress I had spent three long years grooming, manipulating, and shaping into the perfect, obedient wife. The one who was meant to hand me the entire Cole empire the moment she said “I do.”And now she had the audacity to say no.I gripped the railing until my knuckles turned white, my jaw aching from how hard I was clenching it. The public humiliation at the gala was bad enough, but this? This was

  • Pregnant for My Ex’s Ruthless Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

ARIA'S POVEverything hurt.My head throbbed with a relentless, stabbing pain. My chest felt like it had been cracked open, every breath slicing through me like shards of glass. My throat was raw, burning with every sob I tried to hold back.It felt like someone had taken a knife and ripped me wide open, leaving every old wound exposed and bleeding all over again.I heard voices around me, distant and muffled, as if I were underwater.“…she’s awake.” “…don’t let her hurt herself.” “…call the therapist.”I slowly opened my eyes.White ceiling. Blinding white lights. The sterile hospital room closed in on me like a cage. The memories came crashing back all at once — merciless, unrelenting.Rain pouring down in sheets. The screech of tires on wet asphalt. Blood. So much blood. My mother’s hand slipping from mine — cold, limp, lifeless. My father’s eyes, open but empty, staring at nothing.I sat up so abruptly that a sharp, blinding pain exploded through my skull.“No.”The word t

  • Pregnant for My Ex’s Ruthless Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

DOMINIC'S POV“I can tell she’s been exercising regularly. That’s a good sign, but she needs to massage the area daily. The arthritis is improving,” the doctor said as he peeled off his gloves with a snap.I nodded once, arms crossed over my chest. “Understood.”I turned to the old woman beside me, who was already adjusting her shawl with a stubborn set to her jaw. “Niles will come pick you up soon. Can I go now?”Grandma’s sullen expression deepened. She had been like this ever since the failed matchmaking attempt with Charlotte. I had even explained that Charlotte was interested in women, yet she still refused to smile at me. Instead, she had insisted on dragging herself along for her weekly checkup and now seemed determined not to let me escape.“You are taking me back to Bellevue,” she declared, pushing herself to her feet with the help of her walking stick. “No negotiations.”I pinched the bridge of my nose, a familiar headache already forming. Here we go again.“You are impossib

  • Pregnant for My Ex’s Ruthless Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

ARIA'S POV“I don’t think… place… now… okay…”The fragmented voices floated around me like echoes in a fog. I tried to listen, tried to piece the words together, but they slipped away before I could grasp them. I was awake — I could feel the weight of my own body — but my eyes refused to open. Where am I?The thought pierced through the haze. Is Ryan still here? That was my last coherent thought before darkness pulled me under again. When I woke up the second time, the world had changed. It was dark outside the window. The sharp, sterile scent of antiseptic hit me like a slap, twisting my stomach violently. I swallowed with so much difficulty. My eyes flew open.Hospital.The realization crashed over me like ice water. What am I doing here?I sat up immediately, heart pounding. Where are my parents? I should be with them. Why was I in a separate room? They had been right beside me. We came here together.Panic clawed up my throat as I swung my legs over the side of the bed. The room

  • Pregnant for My Ex’s Ruthless Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

TYLER'S POVWhat have I done… what have I done… what have I done…The frantic chant echoed in my skull with every desperate stride as I sprinted up the stairs, legs burning, heart slamming against my ribs. I didn’t bother with the elevator. I didn’t bother taking the steps two at a time. Every second felt like a betrayal. The moment the signal went out, I should have checked on her. I should have known something was wrong. I should have gone straight to her office.Instead, I had stayed downstairs like a fool — buried in reports and endless calls — until Claire came rushing toward me, pale and breathless, whispering that Ryan Hale’s car was parked right outside the building. The blood drained from my face in an instant.God, please don’t let him touch her.She couldn’t defend herself right now. This morning she had looked so fragile — pale, exhausted, dangerously underfed. Like a single strong wind could shatter her.I had planned to contact her therapist today. The hypnosis sessions

  • Pregnant for My Ex’s Ruthless Boss   CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

ARIA'S POV“Are you okay?”Ryan reached out, his hand moving toward my arm. I took another step back immediately, avoiding his touch like it might burn me.“I’m fine.” I wiped my forehead angrily, trying to steady my breathing. The lie sounded weak even to my own ears. Pathetic, really.Ryan’s expression darkened for a split second—something cold and ugly flashing across his face—before he smoothed it back into that familiar, practiced smile.“You always do that.” His hand slid back into his pocket smoothly.“Do what?” I lifted my gaze slowly, glaring at him.“Pretend you’re okay when you’re clearly falling apart.”I rolled my eyes and moved toward my chair, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a response. What could I possibly say? That I’m terrified? That I’m drowning? That every single day feels like I’m one wrong move away from losing everything my parents built? He sighed softly, his gaze never leaving my face. His eyes were heavy with what looked like concern. A month ago, I

ARIA'S POVDamn it!I stormed into my office and slammed the door behind me, the sound echoing through the room like a gunshot. I shouldn't have walked right up to him and said something cutting.Anything.I shouldn’t have let that humiliating encounter shake me.“Aaaargh!” My nostrils flared with
