After the gunshot echoed on the room, Nia felt something wrong on the left side of her brain. She felt a tingling pain, sudden loss of sounds coming from her surroundings and difficulty to produce words.
She let the gun slide down from her hand in panic. When she had though of what she did, she glanced back at Jason who's saying something but she couldn't hear his words.
How did that happen? How can't I hear their words and why can't I say something? Did something happen on me? I'd it possible to get a brain stroke in this kind of situation?

The next day was very chaotic. One of the police investigators came in one Nia's room, asking how the incident happen, how the man got shot by a gun and other things. After almost twenty three hours of just sitting in the airplane, alternately eating and sleeping with Misty, she arrived safely back to New York, her home town. Three years quickly passed by since Nia went back home. At first, she knew that she'll have a difficulty to came back with her normal life after she met Bryce. Her Aphasia is not easy to be cured as Doctor Fender said. She undergo several test like physical and neurological exam that test her strength, feeling and reflexes. She had several CT scan and MRI to know the cause of it. There are several cause of aphasia but on her case, she had brain stroke and it's due to stress or trauma. Her doctor recommended to have speech and language therapy. This treatment is carried out by a speech and language therapist (SLT). Although, sometimes aphasia improves on its own without treatment. She just finished her last therapy five months ago and she's able to speak again.
