Chapter 29: Rooftops
Cory watched the sun set from the upstairs window of the village chief’s house. The Chief had several guest bedrooms in his house. Cory and Hayden were given the most spacious one. Blaython was asleep on the fluffy carpet at the foot of the bed. Titan and Sprout shared a room so technically Titan had his own room. Sprout would be sleeping in a shoebox lined with soft baby blanket. The chief had borrowed a pillow from his daughter’s dollhouse to give to Sprout. Sprout refused to actually sleep in the bedroom of the large dollhouse because the porcelain doll, dubbed Marcy, scared the little dweller. The Twins shared another room, and Venom and his mushrooms had their own room.
Cory sighed as she watched the sun make its descent, causing a stream of colours to paint themselves across the sky. It was minutes before nightfall.

He neared the stream and watched the water roll over the rocks. There were a few small fish swimming around the reeds springing up from the ground beneath the shallow water. The Prince realised the dripping liquid was not colourless like the water but a dark red. With each added drop, the thick red substance slowly turned the water pink.
