Ch.1: THE UNWANTED

“You bitch should not live!”

Ruth, a girl in her seventeen with beautiful reddish curly hair, kicked a white haired girl who was now huddled under a big tree. She covered her head with both hands and winced, but tried not to make a sound.

Ruth grabbed the girl's hair. Lynexia's head jerked upwards as she gritted her teeth in pain. Her hair looked like it was going to fall off her head, but Ruth didn't care. Even though she is two years younger than Lynexia, she takes advantage of her position as the mate of Lynexia's younger brother. The entire pack despise Lynexia so much, including her parents and younger brother.

Lynexia should have died from the moment she was born. Her future destiny that will bring disaster will endanger everyone. People haven't stopped reminding Lynexia of that since she was even a child. The only thing that keeps her alive in the Moonstone Pack now is her aunt, Lycia. The Luna, who is Lynexia's mother, loves Lycia very much and doesn't want to see her get hurt just for trying to protect Lynexia's life.

Ruth spat in Lynexia's face and jerked the poor girl's head against a tree. Blood seeped out of his forehead, but Lynexia remained silent.

“Trash!”

Ruth then left Lynexia in the forest.

Lynexia, or Lyn as her aunt called her, breathed a sigh of relief. Ruth hadn't bullied her as much as usual, so that was something to be thankful for at this point. She couldn't fight back or her younger brother, Lucas, would torture her to death. After all, Lyn was already used to harsh treatment from fellow pack members since forever.

Once Lyn fought back and instead, she received a smack in the face from her father, the Alpha. Lycia helped and defended her back then. Luckily.

Lyn knew a slap would mean nothing in their eyes except death. Lyn is a curse and shouldn't exist in this world. However, she also must not allow herself to dissolve in misery. She had never once thought about ending her own life. Her aunt had done her best to protect her. Giving up would only disappoint Lycia.

Lyn felt the wound on her forehead. There was still a little blood flowing, but the wound didn't heal on its own. Lyn wiped Ruth's spit with her sleeve, then tried to stand up with one arm resting on the tree. Her body felt like it was about to be crushed and her wound is aching.

Lyn still doesn't have her wolf. One more reason for people bullying her. A werewolf should at least have owned his wolf by the age of seventeen or eighteen. It could also be earlier than that, depending on their specialties.

Lyn, however, is over nineteen years old. In six months she would be twenty and if she didn't get her wolf by then, there would only be one possibility.

Omega.

As an Alpha & Luna’s daughter, that will be so humiliating for them.

“Lyn!”

Lycia approached Lyn with quick steps. Her face looked worried. She touched Lyn's forehead slowly while her eyes started emitting anger.

“Who has done this to you?” Lycia asked in a stiff, angry tone.

Lyn smiled reassuringly. “No one, Aunt. I'm fine, don't worry.”

“You were bullied to the point of hurting like this and you told me not to worry?” Lycia almost snapped. “Ruth? Did she do this again?”

Lyn really wanted to nod to confirm Lycia's guess, but she didn't want to worry her aunt again. After all, what she felt now was not as bad as before. Lyn doesn't want to end up facing the Alpha. Her aunt's name was bad enough in the eyes of the entire pack because she still stood up for Lyn.

These past few years Lyn had purposely not said anything to Lycia if anyone bullied her. People might not dare insult Lycia openly because of Luna Lisha, but Lyn knew that they were insulting her aunt to death behind their backs.

Lycia blamed herself for that.

“Auntie, I'm fine, believe me!” Lyn tried to persuade again. “Well, it's sore, but nothing more than that. I accidentally tripped and hit a tree. Not a big deal.”

“You think I'm a kid that you can just lie to, Lynexia?”

Lyn fell silent and half looked down.

Lycia held her niece's shoulder, forcing the girl in front of her to look at her. “I'm here to protect you, Lyn. You can tell me whenever they go too far with you. You and them, we, are the same. No different.”

“Even if I admit that what you say is true, Auntie, the facts are quite the opposite.” She smiled a little. Her smile didn't reach her eyes. “They know they can't do anything with you here, but what really scares them is the Luna. I don't want people to look down on you even more, Auntie. I will definitely tell you if their humiliation and bullying of me goes too far. For now, I'm really okay. So please don't worry.”

Lycia was silent for a moment before finally letting out a breath, then took Lyn into her arms. Lyn returned the hug and for a moment they both just stood there silently holding each other.

However, Lyn suddenly felt Lycia's body leaning more heavily on her. Lycia's hands fell limply on Lyn's back.

“Aunt Lycia?” Lyn called frantically.

Lycia's body slumped, and so did Lyn's. Lyn became very panicked and shook her aunt's body, hoping she was just kidding. However, Lycia's breathing seemed abnormal and too slow. Lyn immediately stood up and tried to carry Lycia on her back. Even though it was a bit difficult at first, in the end she managed to do it.

When she arrived at the deserted village of Moonstone Pack, someone saw her. He immediately ran out of sight of Lyn, but actually he ran to report what he had just seen to Luna Lisha. Three more houses and Lyn would arrive at Lycia's hut.

However, several people blocked her. The two people at the forefront are Alpha Ordovic and Luna Lisha. The Luna looked very worried and panicked. Lyn had to remind herself that Luna was worried about Lycia, not her. The love of her parents is a luxury that Lyn will never get.

Alpha Ordovic immediately took over Lycia's body and carried her to his house. Lyn was just about to take a step with them to the Alpha's house when a hard slap landed on her cheek. Lyn fell down. The sand and sharp pebbles scraped her arms, creating new bruises. Lyn grimaced and Luna Lycia smacked her again.

“If anything happens to my sister, I swear I'll tear you to death!” Luna Lycia snapped evilly, her eyes glistening with the anger building up in her chest. “You damned trash! Look what you've done to Lycia!”

Lyn finally shed her tears. She couldn't answer. What the Luna said sounded very reasonable in her brain. Lycia suffered misfortune because of Lynexia.

Luna Lisha breathed heavily. She shot a look of disgust and disdain at the girl who sat weakly under her feet, then half ran after her Alpha and her sister, feeling anxious again.

Someone kicked Lyn. Someone else punched her in the face until her lips were bleeding. Lyn didn't need to see who did that.

“Knowing that you and I are related by blood really sickens me to death.” Lucas spat on Lyn's body. “Have you ever thought about killing yourself? You not only made everyone worry about the future of this pack, but also troubled Aunt Lycia! Stop being a burden on everyone, bitch!”

Ruth crouched down and grabbed Lyn's jaw. Their faces were so close that Lyn could almost feel the Beta’s daughter breath.

“You are useless and so despicable, Lynexia. How dare you have the balls to go on with your life and not think about the safety of the pack at all.” Ruth released her grip on Lyn's jaw roughly and stood up. She snorted. “You don't even care about Aunt Lycia's good name. What dream did I have to hope you would care for the pack.”

Ruth and Lucas left, following the Alpha and Luna to see how Lycia was doing. The other pack members also left while still cursing Lyn like she wasn't a sentient being with feelings.

Lyn supported her body slowly until she sat properly. This humiliation, which she received almost every day, left a deep wound in her heart and she has learned to endure the pain. However, Ruth and Lucas' words about her being a burden to Aunt Lycia created new wounds.

Guilt.
