Chapter 93

Night darkened outside the window. The clouds thickened as they sought to keep the moon astray like fog that does to a traveler on a lonely road.

The noise of the night insects slowly reduced and it eventually vanished like they were never singing. All the birds that were quietly observing the unseen side of the world that was alien to the human gaze stuck together with their partners and babies in the nests for the view before them daunted each feather on their bodies. 

The lights Zander had narrated as an ignition by the side of the fence around Reyne's house were now flickering. Going on and off. On and off. Then on and off it continued with a wheezing sound as though the filament was about to heat up beyond the point it could take and finally burst.
