24. One Step at a Time

Days were moving so slowly as the investigation was humming along, but Finn was glad to have Lili by his side while he sat at their kitchen table working.  She was a good distraction from the monotony of the day.  She was reading her book and was slowly starting to get into the plot again. 

He looked over at her, as she was concentrating and he smiled at her beauty, but most of all, he was smiling at her determination and her courage.  She was a fighter, his fighter, and he was glad to be by her side, even though this was a crazy roller coaster that they were on.  

Both of them wanted to find some sort of normalcy and hoped that Billy would have some results soon.  

Finn asked, "So would you like to go out for dinner tonight?  I was thinking that we could head over to the Red Sky Inn for something to eat.  We have both been working all day and I think that you could really use a treat."
