69. Intruder

Just as sleep took over Finn and Lili the alarm started to blare.

Finn jumped up with the bat and he told Lili to lock herself in her closet and call for help.

She could barely process his words but panic overtook her when she realized that Finn was planning on going downstairs to meet the intruder with nothing but a bat.

"No! Just stay here with me.  It will be better.  I will hide and call for help.  Just stay before you get shot with a gun." 

It didn't matter what she said, he was too strong willed to listen to her.  

It also didn't help that she was just as pigheaded and was waisting time arguing with him when they heard the creak on the stairs.  

Too late. 

Well at least they were not in bed, so if the intruder was gunning for them they wouldn't both be found dead in their bed.  

They were stunned to silence when their was a knock on their bedroom door.
