"I'll stay with you" Landon said, and I smiled.

"I love you" I took his hands, enjoying the look on Gareth's face

I took him upstairs.

Nina and Gareth, could pose as a big distraction, and I could not afford to be distracted.

I had meetings, choking deadlines to meet, huge workload.

What if something bad happens?

They weren't the only one I was worried about, what if his other siblings decide to show up?

I won't be able to forgive myself if something happens to Landon.

My phone beeped, I'd forgotten all about the celebration party.

Bexley was texting me the location, and I had to show up.

Failure to do so, and everything could go low.

I had to establish their trust before taking any risk.

There was only one person I could trust right now concerning Landon, 

Tia could take care of him till I was back from the party.

"Do not let Gareth or Nina close to him" I warned.

"You can stay here with him"

"Tia do you want to hear about Malcom and Jade? Landon swirled the toy car in the air.

"Most definitely" she replied

He smiled.

"It's a long story, you'll love it"

"I'll be back Soon Landon"

"You're leaving again" he pouted.

"I'm so sorry, I'll make it up to you, let's go out tomorrow"

"Really?

His eyes lit up, and his lips curled to that precious smile.

"I'll be back early"

"Ohkay tia, I'll teach you all of my favorite games" he turned to Tia.

I watched as he and Tia got involved in the games.

I wanted to protect him with everything.

He'd been wronged by the world, wronged by his loved ones.

I wanted to capture this moment, he looked so happy, so innocent.

And I will protect him with my life.

The party had started in full swing when I arrived, what was I thinking?

Allowing Bexley Addams to host a professional party.

It was more unprofessional than it was professional.

What the hell were this curvy blondes doing?

I should definitely have stayed home.

"Here she is, the first lady of L.A" Bexley announced as he saw me.

The others clapped as I joined the setting.

"It's a small get-together bex, why all this? I looked around

" A little fun won't hurt" he grinned.

" you should have fun a little" he winked

" What would you like to drink?

"Nothing, I won't stay long, Bexley "

" Of course, just drink and eat a little before you leave"

" A toast? Jerkins filled his cup

All this was cos of the deal made such huge profit.

Greed for money was the driving point of my board members.

Playing along is the very thing I'll do.

I filled the cup in front of me, and raised it up.

"A toast to bigger profits, to increased collaboration and to Kingston's firm"

" Cheers" they all echoed and downed their glasses.

I sipped the wine and set it down, watching as they interacted with each other.

Bexley moved to my side again.

"I should never have doubted you"

"I hope you never will" I replied.

"You're so pretty, how are you holding it in?

"I love Kingston, that's how I'm holding on"

He grinned.

" I'm sorry about his case, but you should try live a little"

" What are you trying to say ? 

"You do understand" he replied his eyes on mine.

"What do you want?

" I want to take you home Ren" he tapped his on the table, his eyes on me.

" You don't have to bother "

" It's important, there's something I want you to know regarding Kingston and the company, it can't wait "

"How important is it?

" Ninety nine percent"

Ugggggh.

" Let's get going then" I said.

He flashed a bright smile.

I was careful around people like Bexley.

Two faced and greedy, they could do whatever they could for profit.

I could not trust him, I listened tho as he talked about plans to expand the company with another brand.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was fished out among those who would betray Kingston for a little cash in their pockets.

"You have to be careful Ren, handling such a big empire comes with a price"

"I know what I'm doing"

"Allow someone else take the lead, you're doing a good job, but it's dangerous, trust me" 

" Thank you for looking out for me, but this is what I want.

His brows furrowed.

"What about the brand? He asked.

" They should come to me themselves, I will make the decisions, thank you for the drive home"

I said and he sighed as the car stopped at the mansion's foyer.

He got out of the car.

"You won't invite me in with you?

A sly smirk played on his lips.

" No" I replied

"No worries, see you at work" he smiled, as he covered his face with dark goggles.

"Catch you around" he entered the car and zoomed off 

I sighed and walked into the mansion.

Nina, Gareth and Landon were in the living room.

"Who's he? Landon asked, the moment I stepped in.

The plan to keep Landon from Gareth and Nina had failed woefully.

"Do you remember Bexley?

" No I do not" the frown on his face was concerning.

" You have to open your eyes, she's cheating on you" Gareth butted in.

"What would you have him do? He doesn't know how much his wife loves sneaking around, what can he do in his condition?

Nina Shaked her head.

"Landon I..."

He stormed off before I could complete the words. 

I followed him, but he's shut the door in my face.
